We had an amazing dinner! We were a party of 17 on a Saturday night so already a challenge. We called a few hours ahead and a manager was amazing and kind, they added us to the waitlist no problem. When we got there it was just a bit of a wait - expected for a party our size. The managers did an amazing job, keeping us updated on the status of the other tables that need to clear in order to make a big one for us. Our server was AMAZING! He was so quick at getting our orders and the food out. He also was very efficient as he split the checks while taking the order which is usually a pain at most places to figure that out at the end but since he did it at the beginning paying was so easy! The food was an amazing per usual, the hot honey dp pizza was delicious! 10/10 recommend always! Just be sure to put yourself on the waitlist before coming! read more

Phenomenal pizza! The crust can make or break a pizza, and at Slackwater, their crust sends their pizza outta this world! I actually was given the wrong pizza accidentally. I was given the Hulk when I ordered the This Is Sparta. The Hulk was absolutely delicious! It had green goddess dressing, grape tomatoes, jalapeños, feta, fresh cilantro and fresh avocado. It was so delicious, I didn't even notice there wasn't any meat on it, it was that good! The Sparta pizza was a salt lover's dream: herbed sausage, kalamata olives, grape tomatoes, artichoke hearts, garlic and feta. It was good but it sure was salty (and that's coming from a salt lover!). I definitely preferred the accident pizza. haha. Our server was also the sweetest. Definitely hit or miss depending on what you get! We loved the ambiance and our server was so sweet. There doesn't seem to be a high expectation for staff but they do their job and they are attentive and just seem like cool individuals. Tiki masala pizza was what I came for and it just didn't meet my expectations. I expected it to be much saucier with more chicken. But I was able to get the gluten free at this location which tasted amazing in itself. My husband got the buffalo pizza and it was so bomb. I don't even like buffalo and I was feeling it more then my pizza! We also got the spin art dip and it was just okay. I wish there was more spinach and artichoke but my husband loved it!!! The food at Slackwater was pretty good. You get a lot of food for what you pay for, and the quality is pretty well matched for the price you pay. It isn't the most refined food, but it's good food for somewhere easy-going to chill with friends and /or family. The you'll be stuffed stickers were cheesy and delicious with the marinara sauce. The nachos were good...I wouldn't say mind-blowingly amazing, but they were a good plate of nachos with lots of toppings on it. The gyro pizza was pretty good as well. The servers were very nice. My only note about Slackwater is that the servers' outfits are uncommonly revealing, especially for how young some of the girls were. (One step away from a wardrobe malfunction and nip slip). No big deal, but if you have young children with you or if that would make you uncomfortable, I would either order to-go or go elsewhere. read more

Their pizzas pack a lot of flavor and there is something for everyone, whether you want to keep it simple with a margherita or be more adventurous with the gyro trip. Our favorite is the southern comfort, which is reminiscent of a bbq chicken pizza, but with juicy pulled pork instead and balanced with tart slaw. Prices are reasonable as well and you can easily reserve part of your pizza to take home, especially if you indulge on some appetizers. One thing to note is that it gets pretty loud and rowdy inside, so it's not ideal for families with small children, or you can opt to sit on the outside patio. For larger groups, plan ahead as they do not take reservations, but you can call in advance on the day of visit and they do try to accommodate your party size. read more

Been going here for years! It's been consistently delicious! They have some of the best food in Utah and definitely the best beer selection. I love the live music and the option to sit inside or on their beautiful patios. The service was not good the last time we were here. The hostess acted like we were bothering her and the waitress didn't even introduce herself and just let us know they were out of GF pizza so we left... very awkward visit BUT this is one bad time out of probably fifty great times. The staff is almost always the best so I'm going to assume it was because of the holidays so I'll definitely be back and I'll definitely still recommend them to all my friends and family. read more

This is a perfect example of what could have been a poor review yet turned into a great review by a great staff. I don't recall the names of staff, but both bartenders on Saturday night, July 17. Winners. Our entire order failed to make it in the system. but we had our beer, plates and utensils delivered. No one realized the error until we didnt get food for a very long time, after all the more recent patrons got there's. The two bar tenders immediately apologized, got our order in, poured us our next beer and got manager involved. They took charge to ensure we were happy and both were great company until we left. All the 'za, all the vibes. Get a reservation! I have come here for lunch with work colleagues multiple times, only after one failed attempt to come in for dinner when a friend was visiting in town. It was a sunny and warm Saturday evening in the late spring, so they were understandably busy. Coming with work colleagues is a delight: the pizzas are delicious and perfectly crispy, the crusts are thin but not paper-thin, and the toppings are balanced with fresh flavor. I do wish there were more items on the menu that are ready-to-go vegan. They have vegan "cheez" and can make the vegetarian pizzas vegan by swapping the cheeses, but I find there is something left wanting. A few--maybe one or two--curated, specifically vegan pizzas would bump this up to a 5-star rating. Same goes for the sandwiches; I have a hard time ordering when there is a lot of ambiguity in ingredients. Sometimes the servers don't know whether a menu item has dairy or egg in it, so having a few "safe" items on the menu that I can order without modifications or asking the server would be stunning. read more

Excellent food and an ever evolving monthly menu that keeps things fresh. Their beer selection is the best in Utah. They're welcoming and chill here and nearly 100% of my interactions with the staff have been supreme. The managers are always on deck circulating and meeting guests and offering friendly greetings to regulars. For a place whose focus is a lot about beer, their food is excellent. So good, in fact, that I always forget to take pictures. I'm here often and I appreciate so much how welcoming and full of light this place has been during the past two years. I've met both managers now and they both set the BEST tone for the restaurant. If there's one thing Gordon Ramsay has shown us, it's that a bad manager kills a restaurant. Well, the opposite seems true as well: both Joey's at Slackwater kill it. They're hands on, present, and attentive. Oh, and when there's no live music, the store playlists rock so well--it's like they read my mind about what kind of tunes to play. ;) I have some favorites among the staff but have yet to experienced a server who didn't work hard to make the time spent here magical and comforting. A local gem with something for everyone. Check-in on Yelp for faster seating! The food is delicious but you are definitely paying for the atmosphere. A limited menu filled with customizable eats and a variety of local brews. Service can go either way it's either totally amazing or completely lacking, you never know what you're going to get which is why I can't give it 5 stars. We love slackwater! The nachos are amazing and definitely worth ordering. The pork on it was really good (not fatty) The cheese bread sticks (basically a calzone stuffed with cheese then cut into sticks) is SO good!! We love spicy stuff but the Diablo sticks were not our favorite. The spicy marinara is more Smokey and doesn't have that sweet element that you associate with a marinara so for us we will stick with traditional marinara next time. And note to self, pizzas are way better as a calzone! The calzone crust is soft and breadstick like. Pizza crust was not as good in our opinion! read more

Great chicken tikka masala pizza and garlic breath appetizer! Delicious!!!! I was blown away with how delicious both things were. The chicken tikka masala pizza had a great crust. I was skeptical but people seemed to like it and I love chicken tikka masala so gave it a try. I'm sure glad I did! You could taste the Indian spices in the masala. The rice on the pizza was good too. The pizza came with a small cup of the tikka masala sauce too. I highly recommend this pizza. The garlic breath appetizer was super good. I was impressed with how much food came with the appetizer. It was great value for the price it is. Three heads of roasted garlic, many pieces of toasted bread with pesto on it, and a large cup of creamy Gorgonzola cheese with diced tomatoes and onions. The garlic was super good with the dip. The garlic cloves I dug out with a fork and added them on top of the dip. My husband smashed his cloves out with his hand. My husband ordered the gyro trio pizza. He easily ate the entire pizza and most of our appetizer. The pizzas aren't super big but for me, it was the perfect size and I had leftovers. He liked his pizza but liked mine much more. I did curbside pickup. There is one curbside pickup spot. It's a handicap spot that has a takeout sign over it. There are still two other handicap spots in the front. There was quite a wait (5 minutes) to place out to go order. I almost hung up and ordered takeout from elsewhere because it was quite a while. I paid over the phone, which made the pick up process much quicker. When I arrived to pick up my food, it was out to my car within 5 minutes of calling. I will be back to Slackwater Pizza and order the chicken tikka masala pizza and garlic breath appetizer again. read more

We came here on Sunday evening, about an hour before closing. This wasn't the first time though -- we've tried coming here on a Saturday before, and the place was packed, the waitlist insane. Luckily we were able to sit at the bar right away the second time we visited. Love the EXTENSIVE beer list. I really want to come back and try more, but we only ordered a few. We were pleased with all the beers we tried. I cannot for the life of me remember the beer names or recognize them on their beer list online. We ordered a Half Caesar salad, Nate's Buffalo Wings, and the Pua'a Luau pizza to share. The personal pizza size is good for two people to share and a great price in comparison to other places. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors are all there, but I don't like when the crust is super thick yet the inner part of the pizza is thin and limp. The buffalo wings were delish and definitely hit the spot. They give you a big ol' bowl of blue cheese and/or ranch, too. The Caesar was excellent -- loved the tangy dressing and crostini that came with it. Pretty much stole this from the BF... Overall prices are very fair, and our bartender + the rest of the staff were cool enough to let us watch the end of a very interesting MLB game that was on. Our bartender was very friendly and chatty, which we enjoyed. I will definitely come back, solo or not. I will just have to avoid busy weekend times or call in way ahead of time. read more
