I give 5 stars because it's the best place for uninhibited masculine man on man action in LA. (The few bars left in Silverlake have become schmooze bars not cruise bars.) Mon - Wed Slammer can be slow but still the best place to get your rocks off. Thurs - Sun with a little patience you can hook up with a guy or guys as hot as any you've ever been with, especially if you're in good shape and masculine. Very often there are super hot total pigs, from muscle bears to young jocks taking all comers, you just have to find them. If you have hangups about race or age this is not the place for you, it's very diverse. No one is going to force you to have sex with someone that's not your type, you can still be cool with everyone unless you have some kind of insecurity problem. Of course Slammer could be better, it used to be better before LA guys got so boring and conservative and obsessed with their phones. It would be nice if the owner was still into it and did something to really promote the place. Like hire some hot porn guys to put on a show and hang out once a month, advertise it. They do put quite a bit of work into rearranging the space occasionally which frankly does nothing to attract people. If you can't handle that the staff doesn't behave like Mary Poppins when you check in, maybe head back to WeHo where you belong. They're cool guys and very responsive to help if there's problem. The main reason I hear for guys avoiding sexclubs is "it's not clean." I guess that means you never leave the house because much worse is the dog/cat/bird poop you find on any street/park/beach (where there's also disposed diapers etc). They do make the rounds cleaning up. I've never had a problem, pay attention and you can avoid the rare spurt of lube or cum someone didn't clean up. Man up. Give it a try, unlike driving for 45 minutes for one online hookup, if a guy doesn't turn out to want to do what you like, you can hang out, watch some porn and the guys walking by until you find what you do want. I decided to visit Slammers Club LA, a venue that markets itself as an adult entertainment space and LGBTQ+-friendly cruising spot near downtown Los Angeles. But being nearly five miles from West Hollywood's vibrant LGBTQ+ scene -- where transportation can already be a challenge -- makes it feel disconnected and overly commercial. Prices & Charges The entry price for non-members is a very steep $37, compared to $25 charged to members. The venue accepts credit or debit cards only. There's also a mandatory $1 locker charge if you want to store your belongings for safekeeping. They also charge a $5 re-entry charge if you want to step outside the front of yhe building -- even for an emergency. You must pay a fee before leaving and receive a hand stamp if you want to return to the venue. Altogether, the entry fees and additional charges make the so-called "Slammers experience" feel far more transactional than welcoming. The Venue The "industrial-warehouse" aesthetic doesn't hold up: dirty floors, neglected bathrooms, and overall poor upkeep undercut the vibe. Staff seemed disengaged, and there wasn't much sense of comfort or connection within the space. Atmosphere Overall, the atmosphere feels cold, clinical, and transactional -- not inviting or liberating. At times, it felt more like wandering through an industrial cattle market under watchful eyes than a welcoming LGBTQ+ cruising venue. Slammer Club LA at 3688 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA for me is a complete & utter ripoff for the $24 entry fee they charge current members & $37 entry fee they charge their non-members for the privilege of cruising around a dark & grubby industrial complex that for me needs knocked down & completely redone. Then, if you need to leave Slammer for more than 5 minutes, they will ask you for a $5 re-entry fee, which requires you to get your hand stamped before evwn exiting the club. My friend who frequent this establishment contracted Monkeypox from this place just last week so I am giving heads up to my brothers to be careful/cautious of this sex club while Monkeypox is circulating in there.
