It seems odd to have a fast casual seafood restaurant so far from the ocean but we tried the fish n' chips and the lobster roll and both were good serving sizes, fresh, and tasty. They also serve seasoned fries, which I think are always superior to regular ones ;) We were there during an off season so parking and the wait were not a problem. read more

If you go to Slapfish and are thinking you'd like a lobster roll, don't. On the menu, it says MP, meaning if you have to ask, you can't afford it. I didn't ask and the check came up $25 for the most overpriced meal I've ever had in fifty years. If the quality had been anywhere near the cost, I wouldn't be writing this, but the lobster was a soggy, recently thawed out mess on a soft bun with little in the way of dressing. The significant other had an $8 crispy fish taco which was good, but not a taco. There was a soft tortilla under a mound of shredded cabbage, with a large piece of fish on top. Just got home from a ski weekend in Park City...I was blown away to see that a Slapfish had opened there! I go to the San Clemente location all the time and this new location was like I was back at home. It had the same look and feel of my local spot and most important...the food was just as good. I had the usual...chowder fries, shrimp roll, and homemade pickles. My friends tried a bunch of other menu items the fish tacos and lobster roll were their favorites. Thanks for opening in my favorite winter vacation spot...already looking forward to my March trip!! read more

We stopped by here to give this place a second chance after a mediocre first experience a few years ago. We both had the grilled fish bowls, one with mahi and the other with barramundi. There were only a few diners in the place, so it was not busy, and it was staffed with several employees who did not appear to be doing anything. They should have been cleaning, because the place was dirty - not one table had been wiped down and the condiment station was disgusting. We had to grab some sanitizer and clean our own table with napkins. When our bowls arrived there was no rice, but we had waited so long we didn't bother to send it back. The barramundi was good, but the mahi was in little pieces that were overcooked and dry. I have had worse food and service, but for the price, my expectations were not met. It's not as if they were short-staffed - they had more staff than patrons. This is a good concept and could be a fun place with better management, but it's been around for years with no improvement, so I'd say avoid it. read more

Coming from the south this fish tastes like frozen fish that you get from Walmart. They even forgot to put two of our orders in. The fries are 100% better than the fish, if you're from the south I don't recommend this restaurant. One star for the fries. read more

YUM. First off, the place was spotless and super cute modern decor. Clearly, sustainability is a major part of their identity as it was heavily advertised everywhere. Greeted by a friendly server who recommended the fish sandwich with your choice of fish. We chose salmon with the lemon herb sauce... did I mention YUM?! My 2.5 year old ate half of my sandwich! Fish was seasoned and blackened perfectly (I asked for it to be blackened), cooked perfectly where it was still tender and falling apart. So, so good! Wow! This place is great. We were staying at a local hotel and walked down to the outlet mall. On the way back we decided to stop at Slapfish for dinner. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The kids enjoyed their meal as much as I did. The lobster roll was just the right amount of spice to set it apart. If you are passing through town or a local, definitely make this place a stop for a quick bite to eat. I can't wait to come back and try the other menu items. read more

Tons of different fresh fish options, deep fried of grilled super healthy. They don't have a Facebook check-in yet, but I had to share cause it is tasty & very reasonably priced. We probably eat there one or two days every week. The Pow Pow shrimp appetizer special is amazing. I could eat like 20 of those things. read more

Visited for lunch on 7/24. Restaurant looks brand new and is very clean. Tons of seafood options at reasonable prices. I ordered a two-handed fish taco and it was a meal in itself (you can even change the type of fish if you'd like). Best fish taco I've ever had. All of the food that came out looked fresh and delicious as well. For some reason, I thought the taco came with fries so I got fry sauce. The person that delivered my taco (owner maybe?) said that fries don't come with it but would I like some? I said my mistake, no worries. 2 minutes later an order of hot fries was sitting next to me. Attention to detail and service like that demands a repeat visit. In summary - delicious food, great service, clean environment. Thumbs up! read more

I spent almost 17 dollars on this disgusting meal. First of all I ordered the Daily fish bowl with sautéed veggies and brown rice. I got a salad instead of veggies which was poorly washed and gritty. The brown rice was extremely undercooked and the salmon was so overcooked it was jerky like. My co-worker ordered the Clobster Sandwich. She threw it away it was so disgusting! Great customer service. The fish and chips was plentiful and fried just right. I had a bowl with salad, sautéed vegetables and added lobster. This was good, but I of course would have preferred more lobster or at least some lobster tail. It was mainly claw meat. My husband had a salad with the barramundi (sea bass) that looked very good. We also had clam chowder which was probably a little too thick. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. I'm giving it 5 stars because of the customer service. The food here was great. My husband got the fish and chips, I got the burrito, and we also got the lobster taquitos. The portions were big and 1/2 a burrito was enough. I loved their sauces. This place is horrible. Food was ok, service horrible. After we ordered and got our food, the passive rude guy at the counter tells us they are out of forks. Yes, a restaurant out of forks. But it's ok, because he said "I do apologize though. I was supposed to tell you before you ordered." My wife had a salad, so spoons wasn't really going to work. Not to mention the attitude of the staff that seemed more interested in rap music and goofing off, then walking 300 feet to the nearby grocery store and buying forks. The kid behind the counter had the nerve to ask if everything was good after we ate. I said "it was ok". His answer was "awesome, thanks." A customer saying it was "ok" isn't awesome. Lack of pride, lack of leadership, lack of customer service skills, and an overall careless and casual business sense. I had to walk to the grocery store and get a fork for my wife. Was simply driving past this restaurant and saw the name... had to look it up and knew it would be dinner that night! Happy decision! Everything was so good, my husband wanted to go back again the next night! :) I am not a "fish" person but i tried the lobster taquitos, clam chowder fries, and the "clobster" grilled cheese, and I liked all of them. The Dagwood fish sandwich I ordered was gigantic, real fish and delicious. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Do want to warn you that their "awesome sauce" packs a little heat, so if anyone can't tolerate spice, maybe ask for it on the side. read more

Ok, my first time actually going to Slapfish, and I have been dying to go since the first location opened up in Utah. Very impressed. I was with a group of foodies and we got to try a good chunk of the menu. Nothing I didn't like but here are the favs of the evening: Clobster Sandwich - Loved every bite. I am a little more crab over lobster person in my personal preference, so while I loved the lobster roll I had as well, this one was perfectly balanced in taste and was the for sure win for me! Grilled Shrimp Burrito - I really didn't know what to expect going in to this one, but I seriously LOVED IT. Perfect flavor combo. Fries in the burrito - definite plus! :D Shrimp Roll - Oh my! I got the crispy shrimp, and srsly, perfect crispy texture, I tell ya. And the buttery toasted bread was worth every carb. Chowder Fries - Because chowder, and because bacon. Ultimate Fish Taco - the breading was perfect. LOVED the "awesome sauce" on this. We had the large ones. One of my friends told me they like the ratios better in the street taco size (their complaint is that the piece of fish is too big in the Ultimate, so you cannot pick the taco up and eat it like a normal taco.) Housemade Pickles - um, fried please. Everything FRIED! We also had some salads and other sandwiches with their daily fish selections. They were also really good. But the above will definitely be my go-to items when going back. read more
