Had some really great service from Jose on Friday celebrating the marriage of our friends. They have a great vibe there for a celebratory dinner or great date night. We had good cocktails and super yummy dessert. Food is good but not the best rib eye - with a coffee rub. The NY strip was very good with a perfect crust. The seafood platter was overpriced - oysters, shrimp and crudo. We would go back but probably for drinks and appetizers. For a fine dining place, I think their presentation could be better.

David and Gale Slay is well know in their restaurants in the South Bay beach cities for their fine dinning. We ordered the Coffee rubbed rib eyesteaks, medium rare, but the steaks came out more of a medium and was a little tough to my preference and liking, but still delicious flavor. Located in Downtown Manhattan Beach which always loving the vibe of the area especially after a long work day because it's literally 5 minutes from my home. Street parking and small metered lot parking available nearby.

Slay is a hidden gem, immaculate place love the decor. The drinks are top-tier nonalcoholic options for sure. I love their steak and Fritz. The service is great. We definitely plan to visit more often

I would definitely go back. But maybe to one of the sister restaurants Food - crab cake was ALL crab! No breadcrumbs - the shrimp app was just ok. The shrimps were nice and fat but the sauce was blend - the ribeye steak PERFECTLY cooked and the rub was delicious. I couldnt have asked for anything better - my mom thoroughly enjoyed the branzino. She ate it ALL! - my brother had the rack of lamb and had no complaints Service - our waiter was a male and Im so mad I didn't get his name - he was pleasant and very accommodating! - he knew the menu inside out as my mom asked what could she have as a person that didn't eat dairy and our waiter was able to call off several items without taking a look at the menu Ambiance - cozy - clean - dim lighting

This restaurant was on my list to try and I finally tried it and it was lovely. They had amazing unique entrees, drinks, and desserts. The service was remarkable. Paulo, our waiter was so kind, personable, funny, accommodating, and caring, and made sure our first time was enjoyable. Great atmosphere with nice modern decor. We had the warm salad, Caesar salad, butter rolls, stuffed pork chop, chicken Parmesan, banana nut bread with peaches, and several cocktail drinks. Their coffee martini was delicious. The manager was very nice too. They serve a twisted baked potato but I don't like cheese so she had the cooks make my baked potato normal without the other ingredients. The bartender was friendly and made sure our drinks were delightful. Note: Around the corner from the restaurant is the Manhattan Pier and beach. Indoor and outdoor seating. They are only open for four hours daily (5pm-9pm) and have several different sister restaurants within walking distance from each other. Parking can be challenging but they have parking structures and parking on the street.

Absolutely 5 stars around!! This has been in my bookmark for quite sometime so I tried it and it was BOMB!! I love the atmosphere in Manhattan Beach so I had no complaints with the ambience. It was cute inside and a nice outing! I had the Chicken Parmesan for my entree, Caesar salad which was all phenomenal one of the best dish of chicken Parmesan I had in a while!! I highly recommend this option for your entree and the Caesar as a starter!!! My drinks were very good and tasty! The bartender was marvelous! Made me the best expresso martini and Hennessy sidecar ! No error with the ingredients at all!! So for the customer service! Everyone was attentive and very nice! The manager was accommodating with my sister order, and Paulo our server was so chill and down to earth! They have 4 other sister restaurant within the same block! I definitely want to try the rest after SLAY being so delicious! I highly recommend here and I will be back here ! They have plenty of street parking, but it does get busy! -Marshay

Quaint spot with beautiful decor. Little details in everything like the pseudo set up of glassware with "S" or "Slay". Menu is the perfect size that captures something for everyone. The service was on point - wait time, spacing between food, and details of specials. I would come back for another date night. It's a cozy and lovely spot to dine.

Finally got to try this place. Definitely lived up to the hype. It's a beautiful dining room that is elegant yet comfortable. The service matched. We were well taken care of but were able to chat with our waiter. The food was amazing. I recommend everything we tried: tiramisu martini, watermelon margarita, crab Rangoon, grilled artichoke, sole, and the incredible coffee rub ribeye...

The food was good, my fiancé enjoyed his steak & my favorite was the daily special (Swedish meatball). Our server was great, very attentive & helpful. Overall the ambiance is cute, definitely worth a date night.

This was an awesome impromptu birthday dinner find! We savored every bite of every item we ordered. The charred shrimp, satori oysters, red snapper and dover sole were all so delicious! I am very picky with my fish and this simply one of the best. The service was excellent and we are definitely going back to try additional menu items!

I wished to connect with her in an effort to re-establish our work relationship after being out of the loop the last few years. I was hopeful that Eddie V's would prove an ideal location with which to impress. Indeed it was! We began what would turn out to be one of the most enjoyable outings in fine dining since I have been in L.A., and the South Bay/Manhattan Beach area in particular. I can say that Eddie V's hit on all three elements that most look for when considering fine dining options-the ambiance (location itself), the food, and of course my #1 thing-the level of customer service! Other than past experiences in my 2nd home of New Orleans, (where top tier customer service is to be expected from "hole in the walls" to century old restaurants such as Antoine's, Galatoire's, and Commander's Palace-this was bar none my best fine dining experience in Los Angeles.......ever! Over the course of the next few hours, we would indulge in the following: Starters: *Caesar Sald-light and scrumptious. (I devoured this option in under 10 minutes) *Shrimp Cocktail-presented as a table spread as opposed to the shrimp being hooked on the outside of a generic wine glass. The shrimp were large and super fresh. We both moved in for the attack here! Dinner: *Crab Cakes (3) These are bar none the absolute best in L.A. I had two, and my guest knocked out one of them-they tasted just like Gulf crab-which is saying something. *One 8oz Filet Mignon-cooked to perfection (we kind of split this) lol Beverages: *GL Substance (aka the house red), which I enjoyed thoroughly. * Smoked Old Fashioned (part of a nice presentation where our server literally lit up fire and "smoked it" in front of my guest. *Perfect Margarita-a certified margarita according to my guest. * Fresh coffee and cream-hot and fresh like the food! Desert: *Celebration Dessert which consisted of a variety of special treats-all of which were complimentary. *Meyer Lemon Tart-a mouthwatering offering that was the epitome of that perfect blend where lemon and sugar meet in the middle. Customer Service The CSA, or Customer Service All Star of this experience was Kayla P-pictured. Honorable mention goes out to hostess Azhanee-pictured. Server Kayla P and Hostess Azhanee collaborated as a team and ennsured that my guest was greeted by name and that her valet was already paid upon arrival! GM Melissa L Pacana checked in on us a few times, thereby adding the cherry to the top of this A-1 experience. Special thanks to Server Kayla P for taking super loving care of us-you're a credit to Darden Restaurants, & this Eddie V's in particular.

I have been here before and it is one of my favorite places for a boogie happy hour. However this visit, I was here for dinner with my friend on Shawnté Day (put it on your calendars for next year!) I was greeted with a smile and kind words by the gentleman at the door. I am not sure what his official title is, but it definitely set the vibe to have a handsome man in a suit opening the door and greeting me with a smile (Check). When I entered the hostesses were very nice, and when I informed them that it was my birthday, they lit up and gave me well wishes. My date was waiting patiently in their designated waiting area (because I always show up fashionably late), and we were escorted to a beautiful round booth in the lounge/bar area. We decided to get a bottle of Vueve Clicquot yelllow label and ordered the 8oz Flilet with an add on scallops, he got the 8oz as well. And we both opted for the Parmesian horseradish crust ... Ahhhhhhhmazing! Dizzert (yes I spelled that correctly) was the banana's fosters, which burned for an insanely long time, but it was delicious. Overall plus plus. My only feedback would be that our server, as nice as she was, was a little too chatty for my liking. Maybe it was because we were in the bar area, but if I wanted to chat, I would have sat at the bar. I wanted to enjoy my date and it be about me (It was my birthday afterall!), and she kept interrupting to chat. But the experience was great, i will be back!! Protip: Park in the lot next door for free to avoid the valet cost.

That's weird.... I believe our waiter was Raul, he was extremely nice and attentive. I ordered the short rib, something I did not have from the past. This was... decent. For the price, I was not impressed at all. I would imagine a lighter taste to it-- the short rib was extremely rich in flavor. I tried to use the mashed potatoes to balance it. Oh gosh, the mashed potatoes ... what are those??? It tasted like it was made with water. It just tasted so weird. I never had mashed potatoes like this before. Very bland tasting-- no sense of flavor whatsoever. I even asked my friend to try it in which they also agreed. It was bland. Weird texture. Not fluffy. Not creamy. I can't describe it. The only thing that I really cared about was the butter cake. I remembered this from last time and it still hits the same. Out of everything I tried on their menu this is the only consistent good thing. Anyways for an almost $200 dinner for 2 people, the food was very subpar. I'm officially closing the book on this restaurant. Unless it's that butter cake.

Now back to BOA, dinner and service was great for the most part. Several fellas ordered steak with a side of Alaskan King Crab Legs, and I had my usuual Seabass with my favorite Old Fashioned drink. I tried to warn a couple of the fellas about ordering Alaskan King Crab Legs at a restaurant that didn't Specialize in Alaskan King Crab Legs, but they didn't listen and complained once their ordered arrived. Several hours later, when the bill was finally dropped off, I had consumed 4-5 old fashoned drinks and I was in a Great Mood. I therefore paid the bill and then we went outside and talked for a while and took some pics. Apparently, I had enjoyed myself a little too much because the General Manager, Eddie, called me and informed me that I had forgotten my credit card. I therefore walked back into the restaurant and retrieved my card. There was not a problem until the next day when I sobered up and looked at the bill. Apparently, the side of Alaskan King Crab Legs that the fellas ordered with their steaks were $120 each. This caught me completely off guard because there were 4-5 crab legs that measured approximately 5 inches long placed into a small bowl. Instead of delivering 1-2 Alaskan King Crab Legs to the table for each guest that ordered them, the chef decided to cut them up and deliver them in a small bowl. Bottom line is, I was Not satisfied with the quantity of crab legs in relation to the price paid. A few days later, I managed to get GM, Eddie, on the phone and expressed my disappoinment with the Alaskan King Crab Legs that my guest ordered. According to Eddie, my guest ordered 8oz crab legs each and that's exactly what was delivered to them. When I asked , Why the crab legs had been cut up and placed in a small bowl? He responded with "For Convvenience!" Apparently, the table would not have accommodated several Alaskan King Crab Legs, so for Convvenience, they cut them up into approximately 5 inches long and placed 4-5 of them in a small bowl. To be honest, his response Stunned Me because living in Laguna Beach and having Real Alaskan King Crab Legs in local restaurants, they did NOT appear to have that problem. I will NOT return! Sincerely, Taking my Business Elsewhere

I don't like steakhouses…read more I feel they are way overpriced and I can confidently say that my wife and I can cook a nice, quality steak equally if not better than most of them. But....Arthur J has proved itself to be a special place, even more so when the boss is buying. My colleagues and I were treated to a really great experience when our new boss came to town and took us out. The location was chosen by my colleague who is a Manhattan Beach resident and frequent diner. He chose the items off the menu and did an absolutely fantastic job. Absolutely everything from the impeccable service to the perfectly delicious food were amazing. Cocktails were impeccably created. The ambiance was fantastic as well. This place ain't cheap. I still wonder why steakhouses feel they have to charge so dang much for a special steak I can make at home for $30. Charging over double and sometimes triple just seems egregious. Yes, it is in downtown Manhattan Beach, mere steps from the ocean. I get it. But...this dinner was amazing and I'm glad to have had the opportunity. I'd like to go back, probably won't but I very much appreciated everything that evening. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND....on an expense account or if you're one of them fancy Manhattan Beach folk...lol

However we prefer flemings…read morein el segundo... the cuts and meat quality at Arthur j aren't anything to write home about- sometimes the ribeye cuts are so gristly, we've spit them out. Hubby and I have given it multiple tries but it still doesn't live up to the hype. It's only win over flemings is the decor and ambiance. (Broccoli, pork belly skewer, and potato's at Arthur j were good) if you want truly the best cuts of steak you go to Torrance for Manpuku or the weho location. Japanese Wagyu is the best. Qualifications: have dined in Michelins around the world but grew up in the Midwest so I appreciate value.

Their Happy is excellent with specialty cocktails and excellent wine synthesis glass options. Although we didn't order food, we have enjoyed theirvfood offerings during Happy Hour. Our Bartender Clark waa amazing. Great and quick service. Very friendly and interesting conversationalist. He also made some great drinks! Several of us ordered the Mrs. Robinson cocktail, very refreshing. I have had it before and definitely a favorite for me. Others had wines. We all enjoyed our drinks and of course Clark! Private events inside the Wine Cellar are always enjoyable. In addition, I have used this venue for private events. Food is stellar and service exceptional. We ate family style which is fun as you get more tastes. My personal favorites were the Braised Beef Ribs, Woodfire Roasted Seasonal Vegetables, abd Bittersweet Cocoalate Mouse. We also had Salmon, Mary's Chicken, Ceasar Salad, and Cherry-Mango Crisp. Tin Roof remains one of our favorite restaurants!

Customer Service Incident- 5-19-26 Check # 72 Table 31…read more This report outlines concerns regarding a recent dining experience at Tin Roof Bistro (TRB) in Manhattan Beach. While prior visits to the restaurant have consistently met high standards of quality and service, several service and billing issues during the most recent visit resulted in dissatisfaction and concern regarding the accuracy of the final bill and tip calculation. Following a lengthy day of medical appointments and a 90-minute drive from UCLA during rush hour traffic, my wife and I decided to dine at Tin Roof Bistro rather than return home to prepare a meal. Based on previous positive experiences, we expected the same level of quality and service historically associated with the establishment. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and initially received courteous service from our waiter, Brandon. However, several issues arose throughout the course of the meal: We ordered two glasses of wine shortly after being seated. Despite the simplicity of the order, the beverages were not delivered in a timely manner. Our order included: * A Caesar salad to share * Bread service * Two entrées After an extended wait period, I reminded the waiter that the Caesar salad had not yet been served. The salad was then delivered promptly following the reminder. At the time the salad arrived, I specifically requested that the entrées not be brought out until we had finished the salad course. Despite this request, the entrées were delivered within minutes, before we had consumed more than a few bites of the salad. We asked staff to remove the entrées temporarily until we completed the appetizer course. The entrées were eventually re-served and were of good quality. Billing and Point-of-Sale Concerns The primary concern arose during the payment process. The electronic payment screen initially appeared accurate with respect to the total amount due. Based on the displayed total, I elected to leave a 20% gratuity despite the service shortcomings experienced during the meal. After requesting a printed receipt, I discovered the following: * The entrées had been entered twice on the bill. * A corresponding credit had been applied to offset the duplicate charge. * The gratuity calculation, however, appeared to be based on the inflated subtotal before the duplicate entrée credit was applied. This duplicate entry increased the apparent bill total by approximately 54%, which in turn increased the calculated tip amount accordingly. Due to fatigue at the time, I chose not to pursue the matter with management during the visit. However, I also observed a nearby table returning an order, which raises concern that similar billing or service issues may have affected other customers. Concerns and Recommendations Given the increasing public discussion surrounding questionable tipping and point-of-sale practices, this experience raises concerns regarding whether: 1. The issue resulted from an employee action, or 2. The POS system is improperly calculating gratuity suggestions based on inaccurate pre-adjustment totals. While I cannot determine whether this incident was intentional, I strongly recommend that Tin Roof Bistro review its POS system configuration and billing procedures to ensure gratuity calculations are based solely on the actual final total owed by the customer. Additionally, improved coordination between kitchen staff and servers regarding course timing would significantly improve the dining experience. This experience was disappointing, particularly because Tin Roof Bistro has historically maintained a high standard of service and consistency. Although the food quality remained good, the service delays and billing irregularities negatively impacted the overall experience. Should I choose to dine at TRB again, I will pay closer attention to the billing and gratuity calculations before completing payment.
