The TV ,a/c and the refrigerator works. Stains in the carpet are all over the place. A big clump of hair in my shower that I found was gross. The pool was closed and they said it would remain closed but did not give a reason why. Room rates were through the roof. Events in town that weekend.The breakfast the had was hot. I don't usually give negative reviews, but this place was so bad, I feel compelled to warn others so they don't make the same mistake I made by booking it. I'm giving them 1 star because they had a TV that worked and a refrigerator that worked. Everything else about the hotel and room was bad. From the minute you walk in the lobby you smell a musty/moldy smell. That was my first clue it was bad. We arrived around 7:00pm since we were traveling far by car so unfortunately going somewhere else wasn't an option, plus no matter what we were getting charged since it was beyond the policy for cancelling (standard 24 hours in advance, which is understandable and I have no issue with that. That's the case most places). The first room they gave us (a king bed room we paid for) smelled so bad of mold and mildew we didn't even stay in it more than a minute. We went back to the desk and they switched rooms without hassle (so I'll give a 1/4 star for that). We were given only 2 options to change - a room with 2 queens or a handicap accessible room with a king. We took the king. The second room also smelled of mold, but not as bad so we kept it. There was mold all around the air conditioner (see picture). The fixture holding the shower head was loose and almost coming out of the wall (see picture). The floor was very dirty and stained (see pictures). Lamp shades were torn (see pictures). The room advertises a hair dryer - it didn't work. It also advertises an am/fm alarm clock. It had no power cord and no batteries in it. There were signs saying "Vending" in the hallway, but not one vending machine on first or 2nd floor (we were on 2nd floor) - full disclosure, I didn't check other floors. I really expected more out of a Choice brand hotel. We have stayed at Quality Inns and they were very good. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!! read more

It's not a must-avoid, particularly if you're here for just one night, but I am concerned about the validity of the glowing reviews on certain other websites for this minimalist establishment. In its favor, the room was large and the price is right, but what I saw doesn't match up with what I read. Upon entering the bathroom the roll in shower had a big 3x3 hole in the ceiling that was covered with a piece of wood. Booked this room after finding good reviews. Well that was a mix of OLD reviews and newer bad ones and I did not dig deeper. After a long, hot day at Gettysburg we arrived at the hotel. Lobby was hot and smelled musty. Dirty carpets and floors. Rang bell and woman came out of office that was a miserable grouch. No smile. Just acted put out that she had to help me. Went up to the room and the elevator was filthy with debris on floor and grooves. NOT normal wear and tear stuff. Just pure filth and laziness of cleaning. Decided we would enjoy the pool and went to check for towels and see if there was a hot tub. Pool was closed. Would have been nice to know. Decided to take a bath but as water filled, hair and muck was floating to the top. Hair was stuck to shower curtain but we had to take showers anyway. I would have liked to have checked out and found a different hotel but it was late and after checking sheets to make sure they were clean we decided to deal with it since it was paid for. Next morning, hot breakfast did not look too good and considering filth of the hotel we did not trust eating anything and ruining the day. Opted for a glass of juice but they only had a large bottle of apple juice in a small fridge that people could pour from and we passed on that. Upon check out, a different woman took the room cards but did not ask us how our stay was, if we would like a receipt or tell us to have a nice day. She just nodded as we handed her the keys. Weird. It is worth spending a little more to get a nicer hotel. I would have changed this hotel but I had accidentally hit the PAY IN FULL to receive lower rate by accident so I was not able to cancel or get a refund. read more

When my wife and I decided to visit Gettysburg, we looked to the Internet for guidance. My wife found "Sleep Inn" on the "Net", and immediately noticed the amenities offered. Our attention was drawn to a room "package" that included a King Sized bed, Jacuzzi, spacious size AND complementary breakfast, all for a reasonable price. The "Sleep Inn" was rated highly by most previous visitors. In our opinion, this Inn deserves these high ratings because everything shown on the lodgings web site was available, and the room and service usually exceeded our expectations. We stayed four nights, and for our entire stay, the room was kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff, and everyone connected with the Inn was courteous, friendly, and responsive. The entire Inn was kept very clean. We would like to especially thank Stephanie, at the front desk, for her courtesy and her willingness to do whatever it took to help us register, and make changes to extend our stay, with minimal effort, and to make our stay a pleasant one. I just got back from here and I really want to share this review. First, I'm thrilled I found a hotel that welcomes pets. I couldn't leave my dog with anyone so he had to come. The staff at the front desk made us all feel welcome. They even gave my dog some doggie cookies!! The room was very comfortable and very clean. Since they're about 10 mins from the center of Gettysburg, it's a nice place to retreat to when the day is done. The pool was small but nice and clean. The had a nice workout room as well. The only thing I wish they offered was a full breakfast including eggs, bacon, etc. Currently it seems that only have a continental breakfast. Next time I go to Gettysburg, I'll be sure to see if they have any rooms here. read more

We will never stay here again. The staff were friendly but they did not wear masks, it seemed like it was owned by a family who live within the hotel and used the lobby as their living room. When we arrived a woman was laying in the lobby with no shoes, no socks and no mask on picking her nose. My husband and I went away and booked with them for the jacuzzi tub and it was absolutely filthy. The staff was very friendly and when I called down to ask them to bring cleaning supplies up to the room and they attempted to help me clean the spouts with no success. They tried to tell me the stuff floating in the tub was from the water and I needed to let it run a while so it would clear up. They said didn't see the mold inside of the jets.. even after I scrubbed them with the supplies they gave me they still wouldn't come clean. We were very dissatisfied! I'm not usually one to write negative reviews but this time I felt that I needed to!!! My husband and I came to Gettysburg for a weekend away and to go ghost hunting. I found a deal on priceline for the Sleep Inn on York road in Gettysburg, PA. This was a choice hotel so I booked it for the weekend of March 24th through the 26th. My husband and I arrived approximately 8pm on Friday. Upon arrival, as soon as we walked into the hotel, the smell was overpowering. It smelled of extremely strong spices of some sort. The smell was even stronger on the elevator and in the stairwell. We checked in and were informed that the pool was closed. We were disappointed as this was not mentioned on the site when it was booked. My husband and I took our things up to our room on the third floor. The smell was awful. Upon entering the room, we noticed the carpet was heavily stained. The parking lot only had a few vehicles parked and everyone that was staying was all on the same floor. You can hear EVERYTHING. We went to the continental breakfast about 8am (the breakfast ended at 9:30am) and they were out of the bacon and eggs. So much for free continental breakfast. I am very disappointed in choice hotels. Every job that I have worked for I've always had an auditor come in randomly to assess the establishment to maintain its standards. We will not be staying in another choice hotel much less a sleep inn!!! read more

I would not recommend. It is not very clean and certainly the included amenities are not stellar. The whole experience of just one night was enough for us to never stay again. Off season on a weeknight with maybe 20 guests in the hotel had everyone stacked at one end. The noise was horrible, the stomping above our heads was complained about multiple times, and nothing could have worse for someone recovering from a medical procedure, where we felt we had to stay locally just in case. Honestly, eating there was not one of the top priorities but it was just scary and we skipped the whole touching anything they had on offer. Spend a few more bucks, drive a little further. We had such an amazing stay! The people were so nice and accommodating. Te place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and even smelled like it. The rooms were very nice and clean. I stayed here for three nights while exploring Gettysburg. I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. I had mediocre expectations as I consider Sleep Inns middle of the road accommodations and my choices were limited to pet friendly places.However, I had no issues and the staff all were very nice. It was comfortable and very clean.It was just three miles from everything and for the value I didn't mind the short drive to and from.They had a "real" hot breakfast every morning with sausages, eggs, biscuits and gravy. It was a refreshing change from the continental breakfasts so many hotels cop out by serving. I wouldn't think twice about returning here my next Gettysburg visit. The only neg would be that there was a different desk person each day and no one questioned us walking in at anytime so how would they now if I was a guest or not, which poses security questions for me. read more

2.5 stars. Friendly staff, but the reviews here and on hotels.com go a little overboard. Obviously I'm not staying here to watch TV in a different room than I usually do, BUT... Very small TV, half the very few channels they offer even come in, and the ones that do look like you're using rabbit ears in the 20th century. This isn't my first time in a hotel with staticy HBO, but it's always weird. And no ability to sleep time the TV. When I stay in hotels alone, that's a big pet peeve. The microwave is ancient and the fridge is weak. The beds are okay and the pillows are typical of 2 star hotel, along with the cheapest one-ply Scott toilet paper possible. It's not a bad hotel, but the fact that it costs twice as much as several other comparable (or better) hotels in the immediate vicinity means it gets judged a bit harsher. The breakfast is typical of cheap hotels (waffle bar, powdered eggs, questionable sausage). There is no "do not disturb" sign to place on the door, so hopefully the maids don't come in while I shower. Room is spacious, WiFi is weak. You can hear footsteps through the hall and doors opening and closing pretty constantly through the walls. I never use hotel pools, but if you're expecting one because they claim they have one, then be warned: it's about half the size of a kiddie pool and gets as deep as 3 feet. It looks more like a big bathtub than a pool. The exercise room has more equipment than these types of places usually do, but it's cramped. Again, not a bad hotel; but for the rave reviews, you actually get a better night's sleep at literally half the price at the Super 8 up the street. read more

This hotel was wonderful! I definitely plan to use this place in the future if I am ever in the area. Upon checking in, the employee behind the counter greeted us. He was very kind, polite, and asked us about our trip. Super professional! The lobby was clean and nicely decorated! My family and I were placed in a room on the first floor. Walking in, the room was very clean. However, it was FREEZING. This is pretty common in most hotels I have stayed at. The room was either too hot or too cold. The gym is itty bitty, but had at least one machine for each body part that you would work out. There was one treadmill, one elliptical like machine, a lateral pull (with a couple other attachments), a machine for arms and then one for abs. It was perfect for me to just walk in and get a quick workout in (I don't like to miss a workout, even on vacation). Breakfast was served in the dining area in the lobby from 6-9am. Due to my immense loathing of cramped places, I usually wake up early to take advantage of the breakfast before anyone else even thinks about waking up. Unfortunately, my body was not having it and I slept in. I arrived at breakfast with my family around 8:30. The room was already pretty full with only two tables available. The food was your standard continental breakfast. I had a bagel and hard boiled egg. I hoped to get a waffle but the waffle station was always busy. The breakfast was ok. It was definitely better then having to drive to McDonald's. It was convenient and I enjoyed that. I took advantage of the pool as well. Unfortunately, it is extremely small and the only depth it is at is 3ft. The pool is so small that by the time a 4th person arrives, it begins to feel crowded. There isn't much room to "swim". There is only room to "lounge". Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It was clean, comfortable and came with all the necessities. My only real complaints/annoyances were about the pool and the AC, which really depends on the preference of the individual staying. This is definitely one of the better hotels that I have stayed at in the area. read more

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend, after I inadvertently scheduled a weekend training class on the same weekend as my anniversary. I needed a quick solution to save both my certification and my marriage, and hey, since the class was in Gettysburg, why not a mini vacation? I reserved the King Suite with the hot tub in the living room. While the price was very reasonable, the room was fantastic. I regularly stay in more "upscale" hotels while traveling on business and this one was every bit as clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. For being a Mid-Range hotel this place has the feel of an Upscale hotel. The staff are very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and when you enter the building, you feel how welcoming it is right away. Outstanding hotel. They overbooked and give away your room left me stranded at 11:30 at night after a full day visiting Gettysburg I recently called and reserved a room putting it on my Discover card only to arrive at the hotel at 11:30 at night they had several excuses why they didn't have a room and that I would have to drive at least a half an hour to the next available hotel and not wanting to offer me any compensation for their overbooking yet my Discover card was still charged for the room read more

My daughter and I have stayed here several times over the years, for extended stays and we love this hotel. It is clean and comfortable and you simply cannot find more caring and genuine staff. I travel frequently and stay at hotels all over the country and this hotel is amazing. Clean, fresh, literally feels like home.
