I visited the South Side with family and wanted to try out Vito and Nick's for years. I finally got…read morethe opportunity to go a few weeks ago. I absolutely love their tavern style pizza! The cracker thin crust complements the thin layer of cheese and toppings. They've been doing this for decades so they have their pizza and entrees down packed. This is definitely a neighborhood joint with an extremely popular rep with locals and tourists. I enjoyed taking in the old school vibe and looking at family photos lining the walls from decades past. One thing especially stood out regarding décor and that was the carpet lining the walls! Street parking is the only thing available. They are cash only and they have no ATM. Come prepared.

3 stars is ok in Yelp land, and that is the most Vito & Nick's Pizzeria deserves. Arrived 4:40 pm…read moreMonday afternoon. Reasonably pleasant waitress gave us estimate of 30 minutes for a large pizza. Right on the button, though it's not clear to me why it should take so long to bake a very thin crust pie when there are 20+ people in the dining room. The pizza was mediocre at best. If you like cracker-style crust, that helps. However, the sauce had little flavor to it and modest amount of cheese. Dining room tables are very close together; we could move around them ok, but when the joint is rockin' and full, it's very tight. We had to try the pizza but the sandwiches and some dinners are very reasonably priced. Extremely small bathrooms. V&N might be a legend and it's great to exist after more than 100 years, but there's no reason for me to return. Decent size parking lot on south side of restaurant.

Peace and love, everyone!!…read more It's been a long minute since I left a review, so I'm happy to talk about a new food place! My wife and I finally ordered from Paisans Pizza in Oak Lawn, something we've been wanting to do for a long minute. As I have been working out and watching how much I eat since December, I very much look forward to having a 'big back day', as my daughter says! So the online ordering process was very easy. I ordered a medium cheese pizza, a medium sausage pizza, the Southwestern egg rolls, and finally some garlic parmesan wings. When I went to pick up the food, it took a few minutes to find a parking space as there are no spaces for pick-up orders. But when I went in there, nice ambiance with the planes, the cars, and the camper, which is where I had to pick up my order from. The place was jumping (I was there about 6pm on Saturday), and it seemed like a nice overall vibe. Ok so I pick up my order and get back to the crib! First, the pizza: both pizzas were really good. Nice amount of cheese, nice amount of sausage, for both, nice amount of sauce. Now the pizza was good, let me be clear, but on the box it says the 'best pizza in the world'. So my honest opinion is that is it better than all the other pizza places in the area (Domino's, Nonna's, etc)? YES...easily! Is Paisans better than Beggars Pizza? I say yes, my wife says no. Either way, we both agree that they have some good pizza! The garlic parmesan wings lived up to the hype. Crispy wings, nice amount of seasoning, not overpowering. As for the Southwestern egg rolls, this was the only thing I ordered where I was like 'meh'. The shell wasn't really crispy, I think it was a bit bland, and the sauce cup had opened up and spilled in its takeout box. Put it this way...Chili's Southwestern egg rolls are much better, by comparison, in terms of flavor. All in all, this was not a bad eating experience. The food was good all around, and for me, only the egg rolls could have been better. Also, the food was a little on the expensive side....so that is something to keep in mind also. So, does this mean we'll be back? Absolutely! Food.................................B+ Price.................................C (the food is very expensive) Ambiance........................A Customer Service...........A (Ready on time and attentive, friendly employees)

Me and my travel companion ordered a strawberry shake, slice of cheese pizza and some spumoni ice cream to celebrate 70° weather in the Spring. The pizza took some time to come out. They gave me the spumoni ice cream while I waited. I was disappointed thinking that they didn't provide a spoon but lo and behold the spoon was hidden underneath the pint of ice cream. Oh my gosh...this is the most delicious creamiest ice cream I've ever had. I had to force myself to not eat the whole thing in one sitting! It was so good, I broke the to-go spoon and then used the broke spoon to keep eating it smh So definitely try out the spumoni ice cream. And I guess try out the pizza? Idk

Since I ordered through Uber Eats I had to request a refund from them. Barracos said I could keep this one which was very kind since I didn't feel like ordering and waiting again for my deep dish (which typically takes 45 minutes to cook). This had a decent amount of veggie toppings (which I do love veggies) but it didn't have a ton of flavor. I'm not sure what the location is like as I ordered delivery, but the pictures on the internet seem like it's a nice place to sit and eat. I would give them another chance with their deep dish.

Wow... I cannot believe how much Baracos has gone downhill. We've been going there once or twice a…read moreweek for the past year because we liked the place, but the last couple of months have been one disappointment after another. The last visit we waited 45 minutes for a hamburger and mac and cheese bites while there were only 4 tables occupied. The hostess experience has become TERRIBLE. We've gone at different times, different days, and somehow it always feels like asking for a normal table in the dining area turns into a negotiation. We don't want the noisy booth area with TVs blasting in our faces. We want to sit in the actual restaurant section and have a peaceful dinner. Why does that feel like asking for VIP treatment? Am I supposed to be royalty to sit at a table? Then the explanation is always: "We're understaffed." I'm sorry, but after hearing the same thing over and over while looking around at a mostly empty restaurant, it starts sounding less like an explanation and more like an excuse. The sad part is that this isn't coming from someone who visited once and had a bad day. We've probably gone there 25-30 times this past year and that's exactly why this is so disappointing.... When you keep giving a place chance after chance and somehow things just keep getting worse, eventually you stop making excuses for it. It feels like they're acting as if they're doing customers a favor by letting them eat there.. Not again...
