What up, foodies! Lately, our cheat meals have been locked in for Sunday night football, and for the past few months our absolute go-to has been Viva La Pasta Pizza. I've had pizza all over the United States, and I'm telling you straight up -- Viva La Pasta is right up there with some of the best. First off, the crust is absolutely superb. Perfectly cooked, great texture, and full of flavor. The quality of the cheese is amazing, and the toppings are incredibly fresh. You know it's a good pizza when you finish eating and you're not overly full -- that's because it's not drenched in oil or packed with preservatives. It's clean, high-quality pizza that actually makes you feel good after eating it. Another huge plus -- the price is very good. For the quality you're getting, the value is honestly hard to beat. Great portions, fair pricing, and consistently solid every single time. Bottom line: Viva La Pasta Pizza is officially our Sunday night football staple. If you're craving pizza on a Sunday or Monday night during football season, do yourself a favor and give Viva La Pasta a try. You won't be disappointed.

Food is always delicious and service is wonderful. Celebrated a birthday party here. I had the champagne salmon. It is always wonderful. Not always on the menu so feel lucky on days that you can get it.

The food here is super good and it will make you want to come back a lot. I hope you come!!!

This is there egg 81. Eggplant Parmigiana

So we went to Viva La Pasta yesterday April 21 2026 and both my wife and I ordered Eggplant Parmesan. As you can tell it looks like Chicken finger's. This dish was tasteless, dry and not what we expected. We've had this dish on other occasions and it was completely different. I'm not sure exactly what happened but before you order ask questions or just don't order it. Our waitress was good the salad was great and the bread was good.

Minestrone soup - too watery for my preference.

Tables were pretty close to each other but I don't think this was harmful to the experience at all just a thought. They had Christmas decorations still up. Food: We ordered the Calamari Fritti, the calamari was underseasoned but well fried and the shrimp that came with it was well seasoned but only came with 4 pieces. The pesto aioli that came with it was very tasty. Alfredo sauce in the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was strong and its high fat content added a lot of body to it, very garlicky and American, but be warned it was very salty! The pasta was pretty overcooked. The Chicken Parmesan was well seasoned and quite a large portion, we chose to sub the mashed potatoes it comes with for a side of spaghetti (highly recommend for $4 extra). The spaghetti was a little undercooked but luckily the heat of the dish and rest of the food allowed it to get a little better as we ate. Service: We had called in and made a reservation ahead of time to make sure we could get a table. We got to the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation and the host had somehow already crossed out my name, although that happened, they still had a table ready for us and we were seated within about a minute. The overall vibe that we got from our server was a little odd. She checked on us sporadically and it just felt that we were getting treated a little differently than others. With that being said, the bus boy was extremely professional and helpful. He brought out our food in a clean and calm manner. He was easier to get a hold of compared to our server and it felt that he was always willing and wanting to help.

My order was ready quickly. The ravioli was my favorite dish. A creamy marinara with sun dried tomatoes, asparagus and basil. The sauce was outstanding. The chicken Parmesan was 2 good size breaded chicken breast topped with cheese and marinara. A side of spaghetti marinara was served with the chicken. The meatballs were maybe 3 oz each. Fork tender and had a great herbaceous flavor. The lasagna was rich in flavor and a hearty portion everyone loved the food. I think we have found our new go to for Italian food. I didn't like the antipasto toppings separated by topping. I like everything chopped and tossed together. I like to have a little bit of everything in one bite. Even after tossing the salad I still got a bunch of olives in one bite and red onions in another. The dressing was a little vinegar forward and caused me to cough. Pizza was okay. Nice thin crust. Not too doughy but also not a thin crispy crust. There was no cheese pull and maybe 1-2 pepperoni per slice. Our server was a decent server but not overly warm or friendly. She checked on us once or twice but very minimal. My salad plate and salad bowl was never picked up. She never asked if we wanted more water. The restaurant looks pretty dated. The booth we sat in was a teeter totter. Two girls sat on one side and as I slide in the bench went up. When my friend got up I wasn't prepared and I sank to the floor. My friend said the lights were the same ones she had in her trailer (50 years ago). We were there until 8:30 and didn't realize they closed at 8pm. A weird time to close but it is Simi Valley. Although the ambiance is a basic order at the cashier and pick-up, the pizza here is anything but ordinary. Whether it is New York, Detroit, Sicilian, or grandma style dough, it is expertly fermented, resulting in a crust that strikes that perfect balance between crisp and tender. It has just the right amount of chew, and a subtle depth of flavor that speaks to pure craft and technique. The crust is the foundation, and it just gets better and builds from here. The sauce! I can drink it up as it has all the right notes of sweet, tangy and flavor. The toppings feel intentionally selected for both quality and compatibility. Nothing is excessive, nothing is lacking; every component is beautifully balanced. Whether it's the brightness of fresh herbs, the richness of meats, qualty cheese, or the perfectly seasoned sauce, everything works in unison. We ordered the Hot Honey, Wiseguy, and Rosa. Each bite is indulgent and satisfying. You can taste the influence of a skilled chef in every detail, from the texture and flavor development of the crust to the thoughtful building of toppings and finishing touches. This is the kind of pizza that redefines expectations. It goes beyond comfort food and enters the level of an indulgent culinary experience. We also had an order of the meatballs to start; it was moist, flavorful, and indulgent. The meatballs were drownng in the sauce, which served as a great way to savor the remaining crust. They serve wine and beer which further elevates the experience, and really, there is no excuse to have pizza anywhere else!

Our Sweet Granddaughter (6) actually asked to go to Presto Pasta when we had her with us the other evening. As she's a picky eater, that's a major endorsement. She really likes going to Farmer Boys and Presto Pasta with us. It's so wonderful that she has this positive association with these restaurants and going out with her grandparents. The reason that I'm giving four stars this time, instead of five, is that I'm struggling to find a good side pasta sauce. I can't handle cows' milk dairy in sauces, which leaves mainly a marinara or meat sauce, or olive oil and garlic. I'd Love to have Fettucine Alfredo again, but sadly, that doesn't work for me anymore. Much as I love Spaghetti Bolognese, I'm not always in the mood for a red sauce. The last couple of times I've gone with the olive oil and garlic, they actually put too much garlic and it had an odd texture. It quickly became overwhelming. I'd like a lighter hand, which I've had in the past there, but something changed. SG ordered the child's spaghetti with meatball, but didn't care for the meatball. I tried it and agreed that it wasn't the best tasting meatball, which is so unusual for Presto Pasta. Not sure if the recipes have changed? And the third flavor comment is that their options for drinks which don't have caffeine or copious amounts of sugar are limited. Still and all, it's great to have the option of picking your own pasta type and sauce, plus delicious soup and salad, garlic bread, cookies or other desserts, decent prices, friendly service. We will be back, and I will adjust my side dish choice.

The menu has some interesting options, the food came out quickly, and the service was very good. Quick take: Get the Chilean Sea Bass special if it is available, the homemade pastas, and the Prosciutto Rucola e Grana Pizza. Skip the meatballs. Know that nearly all the pasta is made in-house, while the spaghetti and penne are imported from Italy (if I'm remembering correctly) The Chilean Sea Bass special was the standout and absolutely worth ordering when offered. Since specials change, I would ask about it before getting too attached, but this would be my first choice. Everyone I was with agreed it was standout and wished they ordered it. The pastas are another strength. I do not like cream, and the server told me they could remove those ingredients, which gave me considerably more flexibility with the menu. It is also worth knowing that the spaghetti and penne are the one exception to the house-made pasta because they are shipped in from Italy. The cocktails were creative and interesting, although almost too sweet for me. Service was friendly and efficient. The only real drawback is that the dining room feels cramped, so this is not the place to go if you need a lot of personal space. Overall, Nonna delivers interesting Italian food, excellent homemade pasta and good service.

We were initially seated outside next to a family with two young kids who were pretty loud. Totally understandable (we have kids too), but we were hoping for a more relaxed, cozy night. Our waitress was great from the start. After ordering the fritto misto calamari (which was good), we asked if we could move inside since it was pretty hot out. I do wish we had been seated inside from the beginning, especially for a birthday dinner. Once inside, the experience completely changed for the better, much more intimate and exactly what we were looking for. We also got a red wine from the Pursued by Bear line (don't remember the exact one, but it had a bold bear on the label) -- smooth, full-bodied, and went really well with the pasta. I got the cacio e pepe and my wife ordered the strozzapreti. Hers was definitely the standout -- the pasta was soft and the red sauce had a lot more flavor than I expected, especially since I don't usually go for red sauce. My cacio e pepe was still good, just a bit simpler. For dessert, we had the vanilla panna cotta and Nonna's cake -- both solid and a nice way to end the night. Overall, a really good experience. The service and indoor ambiance definitely made the night.
