Finally tried Slice after walking by it so many times, and to my surprise I actually enjoyed it. Not really a huge slice pizza person but I scarfed down the artichoke slice I got, and find myself itching to go back and try more. Update: we had a terrible experience with delivery from this place on January, we waited over 2 hours for our pizzas and we complained and response never came. I did blacklist this place BUT after a couple of months they came back to me after reading the review, they actually offered me an apology and another chance to try their delivery service. Simply excellent. This joint is making killer Brooklyn-style slices and pies, but made with very fresh ingredients. Just what we were looking for in the area, which is a contrast when compared with the high-end gourmet style pizzerias around. Kudos to whoever is running this joint, and please do keep it going. So when you can get a slice it's very good. Their slogan is "In crust we trust" and their crust is definitely delicious. They keep their options limited but every type of good. Even if you can't get the slice you wanted, you're safe with any. All this being said, don't expect there to be much of an option in the last 2 hours that they're open. I would say 80% of the time I show up late there isn't a plain slice to be found. Tonight there were literally 2 total slices of any pizza left. Probably the best pizza spot in the area, but that's not saying much. A slice here is tasty, has a nice crunch to the crust, and is reasonably priced. I would've given sLICe 4 stars but they really need to get their pest issue under control -- it feels like there's a fly infestation inside and in their patio. Just basic food to stuff your face ! No brick oven nonsense or truffle oil. Oregano , Garlic powder, Pepper flakes and Parmesean. Yes the employees look like they are having fun , playing music and they have the game on. They are always friendly and I am grateful to have a chill quick spot to grab a slice. There are not any pizzerias that I know of in walking distance so I tried this place and Okay so it's not Tonys pizza but the slice was flavorful kind of hearty. I had a thin slice pizza and I was pleased. The Italian sausage calzone I would rate a 4 because I liked the fact it was presentable. There were many works. Dang their pepperoni is good! The quality of the cheese slice alone is nothing to scoff at - certainly on the higher end of the spectrum of slice shops in the neighborhood. Crunchy but not hard, sauce flavorful and slightly sweet, pepperonis crunchy and curled up. This is a seriously good slice -but it changes from night to night and depends on what time you get it. Every time. Every *** **** time I order pizza for delivery it's late. The consistency is impressive because I live less than 5 minutes away and even when I order a day in advance it doesn't arrive at the promised delivery time. Let's be real, people who have eaten here know the pizza is exactly average. Nothing to write home about but not horrible at either. BUT every person who's been here also knows the customer service is abhorrent. There's been times I'm standing literally two feet in front of the woman behind the counter and she doesn't look up from her phone for 3 or 4 whole minutes. Even then, only because I repeatedly tried to get her attention. Try to imagine that situation and then watching the same woman ring up your order wrong, forget about your sandwich sitting on the oven for 15 minutes, and then getting home to see she forgot your marinara sauce. It's rage inducing. The staff is slow, don't care, and are surely killing the business one day at a time. I gave this place a serious shot over an entire year and I don't think there was a single time I walked out without getting pissed off. I saw that sLICe was now open on Vernon Blvd so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered 2 slices of pizza, 1 New York style & a grandma slice. I waited 25 minutes for them to fulfill my order and was then given the wrong order and given 2 NY slices!!! I was told it would be a further 10 minutes if I wanted a grandma slice. At which point I asked for my money back for the incorrect slice and said I would just take 1 slice. I wasn't going to be at a takeaway for 35 minutes. One man, who I assume is the manager gave me back the money for the incorrect slice (incorrect amount, not enough) and said I could keep the 2 NY slices. He then came after me as I was leaving with another complimentary slice. By this stage, I was kind of over the pizza! The NY style pizza was nice, but average. Certainly not worth a 25 minute wait. I understand that this is their first week and it is still the soft opening, but it shouldn't take that long for a slice of pizza. The decor is nice inside, it has a L'Inizio kind of vibe, with the red accents. I liked the white tiles and there are several TV screens above the counter. Eventually there will be an outdoor seating area out the back. It is owned by the same people as Blend & Blend on the Water. Prices are reasonable at $2.50 for a NY slice, compared to other places in the area. I probably wouldn't return here unless once they are properly up and running they are open late and I fancy food when getting off the 7 train and everywhere else has closed, but only if they improve their timings. read more

Came here on a Monday night and was greeted the by manager (I forgot his name) but he was veryyy attentive! He bought us the pizza and offered to give us more Parmesan cheese! He made sure we had a great time. Also, the interior decor is pretty nice and it has four TV screens, clean bathroom and they just opened the outdoor area for sitting! Pretty nice! The slices here are not specialty artisan pizzas you might find authentically Italian places but is one of the best examples of regular NY style pizza. At only $2.50 for a plain, it comes with a crispy crust, hearty sauce and stretchy cheese and is satisfying for a quick meal. The best quality of sLICe is their interior. Modern, clean and simple, the restaurant is a step up from your average divey pizzeria and its backyard seating area is especially nice in the warmer months. Slice is probably the best pizza I've had in awhile. Everything about it is done perfectly well. The crust is excellent, the underside of the pizza isn't floppy, the quality ingredients, all well executed. I'm in Forest Hills, so my pizza choices are mainly Dani's or Nick's. Occasionally I'll get pizza from Pizza Classica simply because it's convenient when I'm already at Stop and Shop. And for anyone that wants to give me their "good" pizza spots in Forest Hills, please don't. I've tried a majority of them and a lot of them are absolutely TERRIBLE! I can't believe people thought A&J pizza (out of business) and Gloria's was actually good. Anyway, enough about them, back to Slice. The sauce at Slice is perfect. Not sweet, not too tangy either.
