We were traveling through Pittsburgh on our way home to Chicago and decided to look for a good spot for pizza. "Slice" came up and we decided to venture over even though we were staying downtown. Great decision. I ordered a vege pizza and my husband and kids got a pepperoni pizza. The crust was perfect (very thin and crunchy), the vegetables were fresh and the sauce was subtle and not overbearing. Pizza was good, we went there after the Steeler game, there was about 25 people in line and the little girl behind the counter was tell people " we are trying to close "!! Ordered delivery and were told it would take 45-60 minutes. It ended up taking 1 hour and 45 minutes. When I called to tell them my husband had been waiting downstairs for an hour, they didn't really seem to care and told me he should have waited until they called. If our pizza was even remotely on time, it wouldn't have been an issue. Further, when the driver got here, he told us they had just given him our order 10 minutes ago... the guy on the phone first told me the driver had car trouble and after he still wasn't there, how worried he was about the driver... basically, he lied to us, which is ridiculous. Just tell us you didn't send the order yet! We finally got the order... asked for ranch... no ranch. But did get someone else's hoagie. Terrible customer service. Agree with all the other comments the pizza is delicious and my favorite. However, the delivery is terrible and always takes over an hour and always arrives cold. Also, when ever we order something other than pizza our order is missing something we have to call about. Unfortunately no other pizza delivery in my area is good so we are stuck with cold pizza. This is one of the most overrated pizza places I've ever seen in my life. The biggest problem they have is that the very thing that they are supposed to specialize in, slices of pizza, is the worst thing they sell. Their pizza is normally fine, though over priced, but the slices are premade and just sit out waiting for you all day, and there's not enough foot traffic to make that a good idea. They throw toppings on your slice and throw it in the oven for you to heat it up, and as a result it's terrible with poor toppings on top of the cheese. Their sandwiches are pretty good, but again way over prices. No indoor seating (well, one table usually occupied by some sort of shady looking local), soda in cans, that sort of place. read more

No matter how busy the employees may seem they make you feel as if your the only people there. The pizza is the best I have had in a long, long, long time. At first I liked that joint, but today I was completely frustrated how they deal with theirs mistakes and how they treat customers, I have been in bed not able to eat or walk for 5 days and I was starving so I ordered pizza from them with extra garlic to bust my immune system however they did not tell me it's not a garlic it's basically salt and garlic in end pizza was awfully salty and really bed for my kidneys pain which I suffer from, they even did not apologize or offered another pizza, so I left hungry. Just had a sausage pepperoni pie today, & this has become our hands down, go to pizzeria (only place we order from with out-of-towners who always end up raving about the quality!!) This is THE most perfect thin, crispy, chewy, fresh pizza anywhere in the South Hills and stacks up with the ultimate from any corner of the metro area. Nothing from a can!!!! Perfect sauce and cheese!!!! Really really reasonable as far as price (way better pie and way way better value than the neighborhood institution that everyone raves about that starts with an F...you south hills folks know which place I'm talking about; plus unlike the F place, they take cards and are ALWAYS friendly!!!!). Only shortcoming is delivery time is always 45-60mins (though they are always up front about it, unlike other delivery places...thankfully I live in the neighborhood, so we carry out 90% of the time). I could go on and on about the entire menu and the high quality fresh ingredients they use (no anemic tomatoes and shredded iceberg from Slice!) but I'll let you be the judge. The South Hills of Pittsburgh already has a few staple pizza joints. They are each unique and delectable in their own right. Betos, Fioris, and Campitis just to name a few...So, the competition in this area is quite stiff. Though Slice on Broadway more than holds its own. It's new and fresh, and nothing like the others. Their margherita pizza is what keeps us going back. When we switch it up, the Athena never disappoints. By far, they have the best salads of any pizza place that I can think of. They use fresh greens and spinach, and their portions are quite generous. They definitely have an advantage since they deliver too! All in all, the pizza is where the magic is, and this place has it. Definitely my new favorite pizza place in the Burgh! read more

I ordered the Hawaiian. The crust was chewier than I expected although that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The ham was sliced thin but was too long. I dined at the location at PNC Park Friday night, 15 April 2016. There is not enough seating. One must arrive when the gates open to be assured of securing a table and the only tables have high chairs onto which one must climb: not for everyone. Although it is thinner than I prefer, the pizza was good; it looks delicious and it is. The sauce, crust, and cheese combine nicely, and are good quality. The only facet of the pizza that was poor was the "steak" topping; it resembled and tasted like "Steakum" frozen product. I object to the presence of a tip jar for counter service for a $24 pizza. I should not have to provide a subsidy to an employer that does not wish to compensate its employees adequately. read more

The toppings and sauce are delicious but the crust is always way underdone, totally floppy, can't even pick it up off the box it's so dough-y. I had to finish cooking it at home and by then the toppings were overcooked. I don't see why this place has so many good reviews, their crust needs some serious work because it's limp, tasteless and nearly raw. I will not order pizza from here again. read more

The crust is awesome - really special, with a fabulous chewy texture and yummy sourdough-like flavor. They use baby bellas for their mushroom, which I really liked, and their sauce is quite good (needs crushed red pepper, but most places do).
