Veggie pizza slice and potato bacon pizza slice
    Olivia P.

Slices used to be present on my college campus (Grand Canyon University) and while it was below average there, my friend and I decided to stop in after shopping, just for nostalgia purposes. The inside was PACKED (it's not a very big establishment to begin with) but it was decorated very cute and the menu was large and easy to read. They have tons of combos and pizza toppings, it can be overwhelming. It is very small, they have more "bar" style seating facing the windows and the walls and only one high table in the center, so don't expect to be eating inside with a large party. Of course there's plenty of seating outside. When you get up to the counter, the people shout to you "what can I get for you?" And you have to awkwardly shout back over the massive case of pizzas and desserts that's probably 6 feet tall. They ring you up and then you'll wait maybe 10 minutes for your order to be ready. My pizza slices were PIPING hot, and the dough was SUPER thin. My veggie slice was floppy. But it still had amazing flavor. The potato bacon kind of disappointed me, it felt like there was no sauce on there but I don't know what I was expecting. It certainly wouldn't pair well with classic marinara, so maybe the no sauce was a smart move on their part. My two slices and 20oz drink came to about $11. Filled me up! I couldn't finish it all. They were out of ice, which was disappointing. Overall I might return if I'm ever shopping there again, and in the mood for pizza!

My husband and I stumbled upon this pizza joint as we were shopping at the Tempe marketplace. Let me start off by saying there are a variety of pizza selections to choose from. From your classics to some that are on the unique side, it can feel overwhelming. The staff and service were very friendly and quick. The place was clean and has an old school diner feel. I would totally recommend checking this place out. It's also right across from Coldstone Creamery so you can grab dessert after eating some delicious pizza!

I love this place! The staff is amazing and so kind, always doing their best to help! It's a classic small space which I love and there is limited seating inside but plenty outside in the mall area. Love love love the pizza and find myself visiting almost everytime I'm in Phoenix. Excited to come back.

Situated near the Harkins theatre within Tempe Marketplace you will find a pizza establishment called Slices. Though I've been numerous times to this outdoor shopping mall, I have not stopped in to this location. A friend suggested for a cheap slice meal for under $10 ($8.99 for the mix & match specials). I was skeptical as how can you get a slice, salad, and drink for under $10?! I'm thrilled to report it did live up to the hype! Heck, there was not just a few vegetarian options but they even had a few vegan slice options. The side salad left a lot to be desired based on my preferences on a salad. It contain spring mix, cherry tomatoes, and carrots. I wish it had croutons and romaine, but I'll consider that next visit if I return to the area. Cheese pizza is always a go to for me, and how I rate slices versus other pizza chains. Their cheese pizza slice was nice and floppy for folding - New York style is my pizza preference. Definitely loved the slice and could see myself making through the vegetarian slice thoughts, and also inquiring about the vegan ones as my peanut/treenut allergy can limit me. The interior is pretty small, so it can be hard to locate a spot to eat especially if you are with friends like I was. We did locate some seating outside which was enjoyable given the time of year. I would definitely factor seasonality as this may not be a place I would want to visit in the summer if indoor seating wasn't available. The service was both quick and friendly, so a great place to grab and go if seating isn't available.

Tried Slices for the first time and it was really good. Their slices are $3.99 each, get 2 and a drink combo or a slice and a side salad and drink combo for $7.99! Best deal around and I would definitely come back, I just got 2 cheese slices and the drink. Staff is super friendly and got my food to me quickly. Thank you!

You can buy a pizza at the grocery store and be happier with the quality. Flavor was a 2 out of 10. Amount of toppings was a 2 out of 10. Price for 1 slice was definitely not worth it. You could probably get a better pizza at a sushi joint. Service was mediocre. Ambiance is ok. Shared with another restaurant.

16'' Meatlover Pizza with ricotta instead of pepperoni on half
    Michelle M.

This was my first time eating at Slices and wow was it delicious. They have the most pizza variety I've come across. I ordered a meat lovers and on half I subbed ricotta for pepperoni and the amount of ingredients was great. Usually a lot of pizza places leave me disappointed in the amount of ricotta and Slices did not disappoint! Normally, I find it risky to put meatball on a pizza, as a lot of pizza places meatballs are not good, but Slices meatball toppings have a good flavor. The ham also was delicious that they use for topping. As for price, it may be a bit overpriced, but so are a lot of pizza places for multi-ingredient pizzas. When you're out and about near Tempe Marketplace and you're with 3 people, the 16" pizza split is a better deal than anywhere else you can dine in that mall area. Definitely will be back in the future!

What a great deal' $8.99 for two slice of any pizza and 20oz soda Or one slice pizza, salad and sodas Pizzas premade you choose it and they run it through the oven. Pizza was good! No complaints here's -service was a 5/5 They were welcoming and so efficient. -place was super small but outside they had so many tables and places to sit and enjoy your food! O and they sell ice cream here too! Yummmm

Chicken artichoke pesto, tomato ricotta, pepperoni pineapple, & Chicago style buffalo chicken
    Robyn R.

Love coming to Slices! Staff is always super friendly and attentive and ready to help with the menu. Selection is great, any kind of topping you'd want is available. We try different topping combos but i have to say you can't go wrong with the buffalo chicken Chicago style, the ricotta tomato, the classic pepperoni, and the pepperoni pineapple - before you say anything YES pineapple belongs on pizza! Haha. But seriously if you need a quick bite, their 8.99 deal combo options are perfect for dinner, lunch, or even a snack. Stop in for sure!

There is plenty of bar space if you're popping in for a drink.. of course, the actual bar that runs along the shelves of liquor, and there is also a bar on the other side of a roll-up door, perfect for people who come with dogs. There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give. It made my day to see that sweet little dog hanging at the bar having a treat. This really is kind of a spot that feels like it's probably the hangout spot of many people. Great bar food and a good selection of beers. What's not to love?

My disappointment seems to be this last year with the sushi just hasn't been the best or fresh tasting. The Las Vegas roll was always nice and warm but with an awesome cold center and fried to perfection and the sauce just right. Lately it's been the opposite. Super over fried were all you can taste is old burnt oil and it dried out and the sauce just bland and not helping at all. The other thing that bothers us is the lack of wasabi they give! If you're not going to give us full flavor, at least give more wasabi to help mask. I will say they give you plenty of soy sauce packets (just barely any wasabi).

I'm a huge pancake person, so I was excited to try the strawberry pancakes, but they were honestly disappointing. They were soggy, lacked any fluff, and had more of a cornbread texture than a pancake. The strawberry topping also wasn't very appetizing--it seemed like it was meant to be more of a sauce, but it didn't quite work. I completely understand that higher-end restaurants like to get creative with their dishes, but I think some basics like pancakes should still be done really well. We started with the classic Margherita which is simple sauce and hand pulled mozzarella with a big Fresh Basil leaf in the middle. So basic and so perfect. The pizza had a nice crispness on the outside but a super soft tender chew once you bit in. A great start to the evening. We then had the Diavolo which added Spicy Supressata which introduced a little heat but very flavorful. Next up was a vegetarian dish, the Artichoke pizza made with house-pulled mozzarella, lemon ricotta, parmesan, pomodoraccio tomato, artichoke hearts, spinach, red onion. Super flavorful and a fantastic non meat option. Finally, we finished with the Calabrese Pizza which is a blanco pie (without the red sauce). It had house-pulled mozzarella, parmesan, taleggio, caramelized onions, sweet italian sausage, calabrian chili, evoo, basil. This was a table favorite even though it did not have sauce. I little more heat than the Diavolo but the telegio added some depth of flavor and the ground sausage was plentiful and delicious. So eager to dive in, I didn't get a pic but that a bianco pizza would be a table favorite says a lot. Our server finally came and dropped off food and told us there was some kitchen mixup. When she put my food down, she remarked that I was sharing with my husband. That got me confused because he ordered his own food but I'm like yeah of course I'm sharing my wings with him. She was about to leave and I told my husband that she made it seem like all our food arrived and to make sure to ask her. She had a moment of confusion for sure but played it off well and said she'd check. I saw her check the kiosk to see what was missing. 5 min later, she brings out our friend's food but my husbands food wasn't out. He ordered a baked potato. By the time his food arrived, everyone else finished theirs already. We waved and told the manager, Wyatt. He checked and looked at the timestamp and told us it was only 28 min since the order was put in. Yeah that must be because our server didn't put the order in right away. Anyway, everyone's food should have been delivered at the same time so it was frustrating. Wyatt apologized but he was condescending at the same time. Perhaps it was just a bad day.
