Went for a quick burrito. Thai chicken was pretty good, lots of options. Server was very helpful accommodating chili/cayenne allergy. Just moved here from Utah and read the reviews. The female employees that assisted me tonight were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, made recommendations, welcomed me to Washington. Saw some recent less than positive reviews regarding customer service and I did not experience that at all. The Thai Chicken burrito was delicious. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because I remember it being good in high school and a couple of years ago! Went in and got a Thai chicken burrito and all I got was a mess of rice, beans, peanut sauce, a few pieces of under cooked chicken and side 9f bad attitude! The girl helping me was rude and immediately after ringing me out was cheerful to guy behind me! When I started to eat my burrito I noticed the chicken was pink, so I picked it out and continued on, but to my despair there were no veggies in my burrito just an overwhelming amount of startch! Unfortunately the girls attitude deterred me from ever returning because I'm sure the food is delicious properly prepared with a good attitude! I tried the veggie Thai burrito with peanut sauce! I wasn't expecting to like it so much but it was different in a good way. If you're looking for a quick, delicious and reasonably priced burrito on the south hill you can find it at Slick Rock. They have a fairly modest menu, but it's all good stuff. I would highly suggest getting your burrito smothered in their red chili sauce. read more

Slick Rock is a great alternative (and far superior in my opinion) to a place like Chipotle. The food has always been at least good to very good and the employees are great as well. They seem to genuinely enjoy each other and don't have that, "I hate my job please don't order food here." feel to them that I've experienced at a lot of other places. They'll chat with customers a bit if that's what the customer wants, but for someone like me who is trying to get in and out on a lunch break, they breeze through the ordering process. Enjoyed the naked burrito which is uspsscale nachos minus the gunky cheese. You can build it like you would a burrito except over crispy chips. I prefer crispy to doughy. The rice ans chicken filler is excellent and veggies are Fresh. There are a variety of salsa tpypes to suite your Taste and level of spice. The quesadillos and cookies are great. One draw back is there are mostly sugary soda drinks .Unsweetened ice tea would be aplus here. It is more expensive then Quadabo's. By the way the Outlander haf two for one special at Quadabos so 2 of us ate there for only $6.30. Most items at Slick Rock Burrito are more then that but food seems just a tad more taste. Would have rated it higher if the price was a tad lower. In Mexican restraurants you would get free chips and salsa with the meal for that price and in some places rice and beans. The cookies are great and fresh and rcommend them. They are large and delicious and only 50cents. Now that is a good deal and worthwhile. Prefer them to the ones from the store bakeries. read more

New to this place. Have been twice this week. Food was consistent. Had a burrito. There are so many options to choose from which was nice. I like variety. I chose pork. Glad they disclosed its a bit spicy. It is. Great price for the amount of food you get. I prefer to support local. So I'll definitely be back. Restaurant atmosphere is a little quirky. But not bothersome by any means. Would love to see some queso added to the menu. I feel like it would sell like crazy. Or some sort of queso blanco sauce for an option with chips, etc.. just a thought. Thanks for 2 good experiences, I'll be back for a 3rd for sure. My son joined me both times and really enjoyed his food also. And he loves subway which is next door and both times he chose slick rock with me , when he could have gone next door and gotten his usual sandwich. They give you a big portion, but the rice (so much rice), the beans, salsa, sour cream the CHEESE was blaaaaaaaaaaaand town. Seriously...no salt anywhere no flavour anywhere I dont get it! Just tasted like wet dust! The chocolate chip cookies are really good though, Ill add a star for that. And I like that they have the no cellphone while ordering sign, only butt-holes talk on the phone while theyre ordering food anyway. read more

We have visited this place numerous times in the past year. The guy that runs the place seems pretty decent all around. The ingredients they stock have never seemed old or cheap. There seems to be a high level of consistency with well made, tasty burritos. More than one person has recommended the place to us face to face. Three different kinds of meat were tried and all of them were flavorless, not even salt and pepper. Besides being out of guacamole the guy and girl behind he counter were out of courtesy. Maybe because we were newbies, or didn't read the sign that said don't be in line and on your phone. Also the decor (not like it impacts the food) was lame. Ordered Thai chicken burrito in the cilantro basil wrap. What I got was a slop of rice with a few beans, not sure where the chicken was. All the peanut sauce was at one end and the sour cream at the other end. It was just mushy with no real flavor ate maybe 1/3 of it. Order at 630pm on 5/23 and was up sick at 330AM. I live in Oklahoma, but make it a point to go to Slick Rock every time I'm in Spokane. I have seriously considered having friends freeze and overnight some burritos from Slick Rock to me because they are just that good. They are not only tasty, though - the burritos are huge. I ordered a kids quesadilla and the very sweet but obviously newbie employee inadvertently made me a grownup size and they made ME pay for the employees's mistake. I had never ordered a kid's quesadilla before and had no idea what size it was supposed to be. Was it my job to correct her? So very, very bland. I love burritos, and I'm always on the hunt for good ones. Based on the reviews, I had high hopes. The guy behind the counter was very nice and quick at making my burrito. He was patient as I read over the menu. I had a chicken burrito with rice and pinto beans with cheese, sour cream, and med salsa. The first couple of bites and I was very disappointed. Being half-Mexican myself, nothing arouses my appetite like a big, fat tex-mex burrito, so I can't complain about anything "inauthentic". I think "Experimental" is more the word. My husband and I used to be Qdoba purists, but the coupons don't come like they used to. I'm happy that we live just down the street from Slick Rock Burrito, which has more attractive prices for about the same quantity. Please, think twice about going into the Subway restaurant next door, and breathe some life into local flavors instead. We like to go here at least once a week. They have unique tortillas, I usually go for cilantro-basil or salsa. I'm a big fan of the Thai chicken, and their vegetarian comes with guacamole, and sauteed fajita veggies at no extra cost. I think they could use a few more fresh veggies, like jalapenos and some cabbage, but everything else is so juicy and flavorful it will suffice as-is; plus they have potatos, which is great when you're having a late breakfast! Love the chipotle sour cream on everything. Be warned, the habanero is liable to make a white kid sweat. Nice, clean little store with their own merchandice. They have a punch card reward system. Staff is amiable and helpful, since I'm too short to see the makeline. If you're up near Grand and 29th it's definitely worth a visit. read more

What is Slick Rock Burrito? A place where you can get an excellent burrito. I don't know anything about authentic Mexican food, but I know Slick Rock Burritos are the best in Spokane. Rice, beans, salsas, and guacamole made on-site. And they are so big you won't be able to eat more than one. Burritos are American they are hamburgers with tortillas instead covered in sauses and tasteless. Mine was cold because steam table was turned down because the place was almost empty at lunch time better close and find a new location on east sprauge. read more
