Took a detour to Slim Chickens today after my Target run. I have passed by this place multiple times so finally decided to give it a try. I tried the classic meal 4 tenders, fries, bread and drink for $10.89 . My classic meal was very good but it was too salty for my liking. As I sit in the drive-thur looking at the menu I noticed they had sweet treats. Well I could not pass that up . I got the brownie dessert in a mason jar and it was yummy. I decided to check off another chicken place from my list so we hit up the drive thru. The staff were all nice but it did take a minute for our order. But the food was fresh. The other was also not entirely accurate, we ended up with extra gravy instead of mango habanero sauce but otherwise it was smooth sailing. I decided to try Slim's meal: five tenders, Texas toast, fries, drink, and two sauces. For sauces I ordered gravy, honey mustard, mango habanero, and slim sauce. We also ordered a large mac and cheese. The tenders were good. They have a thin breading that is crispy. The tenders were a bit dry and not the largest but five was plenty for me. The Texas toast was average, not super thick but it had a nice garlic flavor. The fries were also pretty average. They were pretty salty but cooked well. They're definitely better fresh and kind of lose their luster as they cook. In the future I would opt for a different side. The sauces were really good and one of the highlights. The slim sauce was my least favorite. It was fine but just nothing super special. The gravy was delicious. Not many chicken places have gravy and this one exceeded my expectations. The honey mustard was by far my favorite. It had great flavor. I'm disappointed we didn't get to try the mango habanero because I'm betting it's pretty good. The large mac and cheese was indeed large. No skimpy portions there. I did like the Mac and cheese way more than the fries. I thought it was well done and I'd definitely get it again or maybe a Mac bowl. Overall, I feel like this is a good fast chicken option. I popped in to Slim Chickens because the restaurant in Mission that I intended on visiting wasn't open. It is truly weird how many different fast food restaurants that feature chicken have popped up in the metro over the past decade. Slim Chickens is a chain of 200+ stores based in Fayetteville, AR. I ordered the "3 and 3" meal. 3 wings, 3 tenders, fries, Texas toast and sauces. The wings were fairly small but the Korean glaze was nice. The tenders were also fairly small. Fries were plentiful, hot and seasoned well. My two dipping sauces were blue cheese and gravy. Gravy is always a solid midwestern dipping option, much better than ranch that we supposedly consume more than most regions. The $14 dollar price tag was a bit steep, but it filled me up - texas toast and lots of fries will do that. Would I drive across town to go back? No. Will I petition corporate headquarters to open one in my neighborhood? No. Will I stop again if nearby? Probably not, Ralphie has more restaurants in the area to check off his list that he hasn't tried yet. read more

First of all, fantastic trip to slim chickens. We went after my eye appointment as a lil treat. The meal is an excellent value! They have cranberry lemonade right now as a holiday treat and it's super duper. So yummy and refreshing!! The service at this location was incredible. My dad ordered gravy and I said woah that was good idea. Well the slim chicken worker heard me say that and next thing you know, gravy appeared on the table like manna from heaven. Visited here on a recent Friday afternoon for lunch and had a great meal! The store was very clean. The gal that took our order was very friendly and did a great job. We both order mac bowls and the food came out quickly. Our mac bowls were absolutely delicious and the toast was perfect. My only complaint with the food is that it could have had a just a bit more chicken, but overall, it tasted fantastic. Horrible drive thru service. Were not busy at all and I waited way too long. The chicken is nothing special. I won't do this again

My opening day experience was very good. The grilled chicken salad ($8.69 including drink) was brought to my table just four minutes after I ordered at the counter. It was delicious, with a good amount of tasty chicken on a good variety of fresh veggies. I liked the good variety of salad dressings and dipping sauces. The service at the counter was okay, and the dining area was clean and new, with blues background music (one notch too loud). It was nice that management seemed very interested in feedback on how to improve the customer experience. This location has a drive-thru and a patio. Overall, very nice. read more

My husband was pretty excited to have a slim chickens opening up near us so we had to try this place out! We waited a few days for the hype to die down and we have been twice now. It's always nice when a restaurant has a drive-thru, especially in the winter, but be prepared to wait a while. It's definitely not as fast as you'd like from a drive-thru but hey, you don't have leave your car! The first visit I ordered the tenders and 6 wings combo, that came with fries, Texas toast, and a drink. It was a lot of food! The garlic Parmesan wings were really good, and so were the chicken strips. My favorite dipping sauce was their honey mustard, it is so good! My husband ordered fried pickles as his side and he loved them. The last time we went, I ordered a bacon chicken sandwich with fries which was pretty good as well. My husband ordered the fried mushrooms the second time and they were pretty good but he preferred the pickles. They also forgot the ranch for our mushrooms even after asking us if we wanted ranch. This is the second time in less than 30 days that service has been less than satisfactory. This time it also resulted in cold food. I placed my order through the app for curbside pickup which I've done before. I arrived 2 minutes early and waited and waited and waited. During this wait I noticed a bag sitting on the counter and finally decided to go inside. Yes, that was my food sitting there getting cold. I told the staff person that I had been sitting outside for 8 minutes and never acknowledged so that's why I came in to check on my order. She stood there with a blank look on her face and acted like she really didn't care. So I got to eat cold Texas Toast, barely warm wings and coleslaw. SLIM PICKENS is more like it, let's be real. No Mac & Cheese Bowl which was the reason I went through the PAINFULLY SLOW drive through. THEN - I ordered the 3 chicken strip meal instead, it was hardly fit for a 5 year old. Closer to 2 strips when you put the two small ones together and add the one normal sized strip. I love Slim Chickens and was excited to have one near my house. Went to the Mission restaurant tonight because we wanted chicken strips with Gravy. With our drive thru order, we asked for honey mustard, ranch and gravy. I double checked to make sure they remembered the gravy as she handed me food. First time there, never going back. was looking for just tenders to try, I asked where I could find them on the screen in case I was missing it. Guy just said yeah they sell them that way. I visit slim chickens pretty regularly. Last week I got home and realized my order was correct; but everthing was cold! I was so disappointed... I called and spoke to the manager Harley and explained it to him and that I am a regular customer. He told me he was really sorry about that and he would replace another order if I wanted to stop back by later that week (because it was literally when they were about to close when my food was cold) so here I am with my hot delicious chicken meal!
