    This chicken is cool

Get your chicken on... delicious chicken tenders, wings and Chicken Mac & Cheese... seasoned fries, Texas toast and all the fixings you could want, but I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about the sauces. If you like a run or a traditional sauce you are in for a real delight! Hot scale from mild to inferno mixed with some creative concoctions in between. Dunk. Dip. Drink!?!? Well almost good enough to drink the sauces. Mango Habanero was my jam. Get it to go, eat outside or go indoors, it's all there waiting to be gobbled up.

I have always really enjoyed this restaurant in my favorite thing to get is the grilled chicken slim salad with extra fried onions. Tonight I was disappointed though when I pay the same price, I always do and got about less than half the salad that I usually do. I also got the chocolate brownie jar and that price has gone up to seven dollars but the jar got smaller. If you're going to make things smaller take the price down as well. I will not go back even though I like it so much because I can't afford to pay $17 for a teeny tiny salad and a little jar dessert. I am going to miss getting the salad because it's my favorite and nobody else makes salads with fried onions in them. Let me know if things go back to normal.

This is our 2d visit when driving west on I30. The place was jammed this time; $1.99 meal for kids, Sunday church crowd and travelers like us. Good meal. Only 4 stars as they were struggling with crowd to get food out. More and/or better kitchen help is needed.

I've driven by several of these around the metro area but never stopped for some reason or another. I was in Weatherford and my Coworker wanted fast and easy and he suggested them. So you can tell from the name they do chicken but to my pleasant surprise their specialty is chicken and waffles. It's like dessert for lunch and hard to pass up. The waffle was light and fluffy and the chicken was nicely breaded. It also came out pretty quickly but not so quickly you could assume that they had everything pre-made. It took about the time you expect a waffle to cook fresh and the chicken was hot like it had just been cooked not sitting under a lamp or anything. We also doubled down and ordered the fried pickles and they were a real treat. Once again, hotter then you could put in your mouth and great batter that didn't over power the pickle. We split an order it was so large. This being my first time I didn't get to try any of there other options and it appears they have a specialty sauce list of about 10+ different sauces to choose. They also have desserts in a jar that looked pretty tasty as well. Overall it's fast food but it didn't taste like it. The restaurant was super clean and the staff very put together and welcoming. I'm hoping it's like that in other ones around the metro but in Weatherford they are really representing this chain proudly. Definitely Worth a try!

Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. Thank you for the VIP service at Fixe Southern House. Resident discount applied. Born from Opelousas, Louisiana, breakfast served with a huge helping of southern hospitality. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.
