    The sandwich in ?
    Joseph S.

One of the many overpriced spots right near the water. Busy place but we got in just before the rush. Service OK with a bunch of under trained young folks. Started out w/ a coke that came from a non-functioning dispenser. We had 2 beers, a salad with shrimp (at $6 each), and a cod sandwich. All decent. But there was a hair in the sandwich. Reported to the waiter but it was like talking to a "deer in the headlights". Damages with tip was $82. Dine at your own risk.

Flavors - 4.6/5 Textures - 4.5/5 Presentation - 5/5 Value for Money - 4.2/5 Would return? Yes Must-try - Halibut Their pan-seared halibut stole the show with broccolini, oyster mushrooms, dates, tahini-pickled chilis, and a sprinkle of almonds. It was a flavor symphony that left me in awe, easily one of the best dishes I've had this year. The Arctic char on a coconut lemongrass broth was a delightful surprise. The delicate flavors of the char were perfectly complemented by the fragrant and exotic broth. While the hanger steak was well-executed, it failed to leave a lasting impression. It lacked that wow factor that makes a dish truly exceptional. Stick to their seafood offerings for an unforgettable experience. The crab croquettes and Brussels sprouts were undeniably delicious, but they didn't reach the heights of culinary innovation. They were good, but not mind-blowing. The halibut ceviche, on the other hand, was a tangy refreshing delight that combined very well with the house-made chips. Last but not least, their clam chowder with bacon and preserved lemons was a creamy indulgence. However, the richness might be a bit overwhelming for some palates. Slip 14 knows how to deliver memorable flavors, with a few misses along the way.

Don't call it a comeback and mojito

Nice spot for drinks and oysters! My friend and I wanted a pre-dinner drink and oyster appetizer so we came here. It's a great location on the water a little off the main drag. I ordered the don't call it a comeback which has ginger infused vodka, passionfruit, citrus and vanilla but it's surprisingly not too sweet and very ginger forward. My friend enjoyed her off-menu mojito. Then we shared 1/2 oysters. They have different varieties that rotate. We had ones from Nantucket and wellfleet. The wellfleet ones are my absolute favorite. They were all very fresh and shucked well, and came with homemade mignonette and tangy oyster sauce. The service was great as well!

A side view of the porched dining area at Slip 14, located right at the harborside. Such a beautiful location in the heart of Nantucket.

I am surprised that Slip 14 doesn't have 5 stars because their food is outstanding and their service is great. Classic island hospitality here at the waterside. The menu is fabulous. At the top of my favorite list is Slip 14's "Seared Halibut with Thai Basil Risotto in a Green Curry, Beurre Blanc Sauce with Apples and Papaya." I mean it's so good that you'll want it for breakfast. Also at the top of my list are their seared scallops with crispy potatoes and goat cheese in basil oil and brown butter. And for desert? I ordered the fresh oysters which were the perfect finale for a great evening. All in all, this is a first rate restaurant with caring, friendly service. Ask for Timmy, who'll make sure that you're taken care of.

Great place to sit down after arriving on the Ferry and have some delicious appetizers and locally brewed beers from Cisco Brewery. I highly recommend the lobster macaroni and cheese, street corn, and artichoke crab dip. Yum!!

Chowder Hounds are happy here! For Nantucket, reasonably priced, good selection and great service.

Very good traditional seafood fare, on the harbor. Extremely friendly staff and unbelievably fresh raw bar. We loved this place.

Just a nice, artisan dish akin to something you'd get in New Bedford or Fall River. Fantastic. 5-Stars. Now their lobster roll. Imagine a hot dog, OK, and now imagine one of those little Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage links for size comparison. The volume of finely shredded lobster meat, that was also warm in that hot dog roll was smaller than the Jimmy Dean link. 0-Stars. My recommendations for a "good" lobster roll is to go anywhere else on island. I'd recommend Sayle's Seafood, The Nantucket Lobster Trap or Stubby's. In fact, I'd just stay clear of the Club Car altogether, it is one of those places for the self-focused New York / Miami new [vulgar] money jet-set that treat the island like their play-thing... you know, you see their empty beer cans in the morning around town. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

The service is always on point (Bridget always takes care of us--she's genuinely so nice), and the food never misses: the lobster Cobb salad is fresh, loaded, and perfectly balanced, and the croque madame is pure comfort (savory, cheesy, and even better with the egg). And don't sleep on dinner, Club Car turns it up even more, and their steak frites is the best!
