I also really liked the kougin amann - I feel this is how they should taste; crispy outside, fruity inside, no hassle when I chew and keeps me relaxed. The staff is exceptional - I liked how the owner struck up a conversation with us about where we are from and my friends traveling. The vibes are that of a roastery with massive brick walls like a Brooklyn warehouse with cozy seats, games, and (assuming) art from where they get their beans. I'll be returning :)

Good pull on the espresso, not burned, and the balance of milk to espresso was ideal. Even better right?? Well welcome to Parks Coffee! I've driven past this place so many times on PGBT that I googled them and saw they offered tours. So I immediately booked one and have to say it was well worth the cost. You get to see the behind the scenes and understand more about the process of making coffee. There is even a tour you can request in which you can roast your own bag (details on their website as it may change from when I post this). At the end of the tour you get to try a sampling of their single origin coffees that are paired with bite size pastries from a local bakery, La Casita, that were delicious! The pairings really brought out the notes in the coffee and even I felt like a coffee sommelier! Plus after the tour you get a discount at the coffee shop and it applies to their sweet shirts. I went to visit their original location on Northwest Hwy. conveniently located right next to the Dallas Police Northwest Division. Fun fact: did you know that they have a roastery next to their original location? How amazing! However, that one is by appointment only, so check with them for more details. Shoutout to the White Rock Coffee staff for welcoming us back with open arms, as well as introducing new drinks to us that were of high demand and interest. One, however, that really did catch my eye, was my all time-favorite: the White Rocker, which included two shots of espresso, whole milk, and their signature White Rock syrup. My friend on the other hand, got the Lone Star Latte -- chai with a hint of that White Rock syrup that they put in there as well! Because of their roastery, all of their coffee beans are sourced from local partners and cooked and roasted right here in the heart of Dallas. However, after visiting multiple times at different times of day, I don't think I'll be coming back. The food is fine and the coffee is okay, but the customer service has consistently been disappointing, and that's what ultimately ruins the experience. Each time I've gone, the staff behind the counter seem disengaged and uninterested in helping customers. There have been multiple occasions where no one acknowledges you at the counter, or they stay in the back and make you feel like you're interrupting them just by ordering. When they do interact, it often comes across as short or unfriendly. I'm not trying to make assumptions about the staff, but after repeated experiences like this, the environment just feels unwelcoming. It's gotten to the point where I can't even focus on working there because the overall vibe feels off. It's frustrating because this place could be great with more attentiveness and basic kindness in customer service. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently negative enough that it outweighs everything else.
