So this is a fresh, different dining alternative for the area and we like it a lot! It's hard to rate the place it's a solid 4.5 but that's not a option. First, the food and drinks were delicious. It is tapas style so expect small plates. We ordered the octopus, wings, scallops, steak, and shrimp. The cocktails didn't disappoint either, we tried the cucumber moscow mule, Frose', and blackberry Mojito on tap. We found the prices to be reasonable for the quality of the food. The ambiance felt like a hipster vibe with modern finish. Honestly the. food doesn't quite match the vibe of the restaurant. Came for Sunday brunch with friends. Restaurant seemed super slow (maybe Coronavirus fear?) Great atmosphere/decor. DIY Bloody Mary bar was great! Menu seems to be seasonal with a focus on local ingredients. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits which was phenomenal and my fiancé had the quiche special which was bacon, provolone and herbs- it was amazing! My husband and I enjoy a good date together and good food. This place is our favorite spot to hang out. The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. The chef, Craig, is so creative with seasonal, local fare and expert at combining flavors. We have been eating here since they opened and have enjoyed everything (no exaggeration)! Escaped from the rain last night into this delightful new restaurant . My wife and I had a few beers and gave their food a try...WOW!! Unbelievably fresh and brimming with flavor. From the Kale salad to the Roast Pork, my taste buds were electric with anticipatory pleasure for the next bite. Our waitress, Kendra, was exceptional in every respect. All ingredients are locally sourced and you can really taste the difference. One of the added benefits was the absence of any TV's...just a portrait of Conway Twitty overlooking the bar! Disappointed with this spot. Service was friendly but very slow. We waited close to 60 minutes to get our meal. Food was average for a high price point. We left hungry because portions are small. Service was good, nice to sit outside now that the weather is nice, but disappointed in one thing. Wanted the slow roast pork sandwich and while we showed up at noon for lunch the waitress said they had just started cooking the pork so it would a lengthy wait until it was ready. I would think on a Saturday they would have started it cooking earlier. Anyway, the lamb hash was very good, but the pancakes with blueberry compote were rather heavy. Amazing food, crafty cocktails and we couldn't have asked for a better time on a Thursday night. The restaurant was busy but not overloaded, our bartender was very knowledgeable on both food and drinks and made me one mean old fashioned. The soft lighting added to the atmosphere and introduced an element of intimacy that i haven't found in other restaurants in town. Ham croquettes were crispy golden and delicious. I highly recommend the peppered beef, the au poivre under the steak was perfect. This is now one of my regular spots to stop! read more

I'm so disappointed! I used to love going to Restaurant 51 and the food was delicious. I didn't know the place changed hands and when I went here, I was willing to give it a chance. I ordered Rum Punch that was WAY too strong. It had not even been stirred and the dark rum was sitting on top. They were willing to fix it for me but it still wasn't very enjoyable. My friend got the "Lady in the Red Dress" and hers tasted like juice but also not enjoyable. Also, we ordered 2 meals (I got a flounder/clam meal and my friend got a steak meal). The plates were so small, you would have thought it was a tapas restaurant. The food was good but we were both still hungry afterwards and ordered the chips/dip. They gave us like 20 chips and the dip was too full of onions. Overall, we left disappointed with the food and drinks. On the plus side, we had a very nice server. However, I really miss Restaurant 51!!! read more

Well... they seriously try. What could I possibly mean by that? Ordered the fish and chips. Not good, although the batter was quite nice. The fish was absolutely fresh. That's a good thing, right? Well, mostly. However, the establishment used mahi-mahi, not the ideal choice for the classic fish & chips. The server, very nice and accommodating, explained that in order to use the freshest fish available, which I do appreciate, the mahi was the better choice. Flounder, she intimated, was another possible choice, but because that day's catch was very expensive and very flattened, suggesting it would curl up in cooking, the mahi was, according to the chef, the better choice. Because they obviously didn't want to overcook it, it was soft and gooey inside, not at all reminiscent of the more familiar cod or haddock that is the generally accepted choice. The chips were wholly unimpressive--the skinniest shoestring potatoes I've ever seen, and again, unconventional when one is expecting a steakhouse fry for the chips, which is pretty universally considered the chip to accompany the fried fish. Shoestring potatoes can not avoid being room temperature by the time they arrive at the table. The tartar sauce was very good, and I assume made on premises, containing just the right amount of pickle and onion. Another diner in my party had the mini burgers--very small sliders. Not good at all. Completely overcooked and containing a preponderance of pickle. All in all, not worth the price, and the departure from the conventional was not a pleasant or inventive one. read more

Eat before you go. The menu is small and not great. The Nashville chicken wings are two giant wings fried in a ton of spicy batter. Waited 35 minutes then had to wait at least another 10 to cool off. Hard to eat with your hands or a fork and knife. Potato leek soup was missing potatoes and leeks but was filled with chunks of bacon. Basically a milky soup base with bacon. So we went on a Saturday evening after church on impulse and there was plenty of seating available. My wife and teenage son and I sat right down. The menu was short and strange. My wife had the kale salad which was not much more than kale, son had the three "slider" burgers which were larger than expected (no fries or sides) and I had the lamb. The lamb was good but small compared to what I would be used to for dinner. It was served on a large oval plate, but completely on one side of it... almost like something was missing. It was tasty. This place suffers the same sound problem as did station 51 when it was there: Incredibly loud, difficult to hear across the booth we were in. read more

I wanted to give Slow Hand a shout out during this pandemic. In the beginning they kept ordering from their farm to table small businesses to open up a grocery store. I've ordered produce and meat from them multiple times and it was always a friendly and easy pick up experience. A few of my friends and I went to their patio on Monday 6/8, shortly after the yellow phase began, and our server, Shane, was very efficient in explaining the new quarantine guidelines to us. He informed us that their menu is available online and that they have paper copies if we needed them (great environmental move). I watched servers wipe down tables from head to toe multiple times. They have even blocked off their first bathroom to make sure employees have constant access to a hand washing station. As a fellow industry worker in town I need to address that they have been amazing throughout this pandemic while putting out great food and drinks (the steak tartar was perfect).
