Great atmosphere and service. Tasty drinks and a live performance by The Sermon. They were awesome.

The State finally reopened restaurants for indoor dining, so we joined two other couples for dinner at 7:15pm last night. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Service was good. However, their live music band was so loud that we couldn't converse; so loud that someone's Apple Watch warned us that we were in danger of permanent hearing loss. We first asked the waitress if she'd get the band to turn down the volume, which she did. Nothing happened. The manager came over and said he'd get the band to reduce their volume. Nothing happened. Can't recommend Slow Hand unless you're looking for permanent hearing loss. read more

Team at Slow Hand. Let me start by saying I am a local town family that eat out a lot. First your ambiance inside is great. But unfortunately that is where it ends for you guys. This is my third (and last time) at your restaurant. All three times have been a bad experience so I thought it was time to write a review. First we went up to the Sip and Shop and stopped in Slow Hand for a drink but they were not aware of the event (which is weird) so we just asked for a water. Ok. This is where it gets odd. They asked for flat tap or sparkling and we said the free one, flat. That's my mistake thinking flat was free but they should have said something. Then when they came back out and said they aren't part of the event we nicely said we are going to the places on Gay Street that are part of it and then the waitress said "I'll get your check and you can go". Are you kidding me? 7 dollars for water???????? First time we went to Slow Hand we got chips and dip and even though they were bland they weren't horrible. We finished the 4 chips (almost true for real) and then asked if we could have some more chips and they brought them out. Great right? They CHARGED US 3.50 for extra chips?????? This place is penny wise and pound foolish. All about nickel and diming. Oh and the MEAL we got was literally the worst meal ever. We got scallops which this town does well in every place (BUT HERE). No lie, I almost threw up and I DID gag. They tasted literally like they scraped them off a boat. Wow. Someone needs to tell this place to wake up. read more

Update to my last not so great review - after posting about our experience, the GM reached out to us and so graciously gave us a gift card to come back and try slow hand again. (Jacob, if you're seeing this, thank you so much). We did go back and so happy we did, we actually got the same server as before and this time around she was super attentive, our orders were correct, drinks were super good, overall a way more pleasant meal. We definitely will be back and have been already. It's not technically my favorite menu in town but I am so impressed with the follow up from Jacob and the difference in the experience, definitely want to continue to support that. Always 5 stars to small restaurants/businesses that care about their customers. read more

We've been here for drinks before and those were great so we decided to try brunch. MAJOR regrets. My salad was mostly raw red cabbage while my boyfriend's French toast was completely void of any flavor and was essentially custard as it was so undercooked. All of this after waiting 30 minutes for two meals that take less than 10 minutes to make at home. We won't be eating here again. read more

Went here on a date with my gf, they didn't have anything vegan on the menu. The awesome chef, Craig, made a dish special for her and it was amazing. The manager, Will, and staff, Sam and Matt, were a delight, super patient and very accommodating. Food was excellent and different. Music was loud but sounds ok from the upstairs. If you could give 3.5 stars I would. I have been thinking about trying this place since they opened but wanted to wait until they worked out the kinks. It has the potential to be very good but it needs some work. Atmosphere is awesome. The staff needs some training, the bartender couldn't find what he needed to make a drink and then admitted it was his first time making it... the drink was on the menu so they think they would practice it. It also says $11 on the menu but I was charged $16. The food was just ok, for the price there are better meals in town but with some refinement they will be right there with the others. I hope to go there again in a few months to give it another try. read more

This place was such a wonderful + pleasant surprise! We came by for dinner + all the food was executed very well. All the dishes are tapas style + so reasonably priced, including the yummy drinks! The asparagus was buttery and well seasoned with a delicious sunny side egg on top. The Nashville Hot Chicken was big, juicy, + crunchy! The flavors were just right + not overly spicy, just enough for you to feel it with a hint of sweetness. The onion rings were large + crisped just right with a nice thin batter. Hen of the woods was by far the best mushrooms I've ever had - if you love mushrooms, you have to get this. Fish + chips were perfect, reminded me of my time in London! Lastly, the peel + eat shrimp was also well done, not over cooked + pretty large in size. The team was also so sweet + welcoming, they had me at "hello". Conclusion, you gotta stop by - at least have some drinks and snacks. read more

I was excited to try this new edition to the lineup of West Chester Restraunt's. At first glance the place was impressive long Bar, beautiful wood floors, perfectly decorated.but as I began to sit down I realized what a weird vibe the place had. Hostess seemed completely out of it. Our Server looked like he literally rolled out of bed! His shirt was wrinkled and half tucked into a dirty pair of jeans. He kept running his hands threw his hair as he explained that the kitchen was "out of a lot of stuff." Apparently the bar was too because I couldn't get the wine I wanted off the bar menu My girlfriend and I asked questions about the restaurant, but are waiter clearly didn't even know what restaurant he was at! What I'm assuming was the manager. (A young guy who looked like a deer in headlight) came over to ask how are meal was. My girlfriend asked if her croquets were fully cooked. after a quick glance he said I think so and walked away. The chicken/ cat food coquette were, simply put, uneatable. My salad with Baco bits and wilted lettuce was worse. They were out of the dumplings we ordered. Thank God for small favors! I started to laugh and told the waiter we would just take the check because after tasting the appetizers We were not sure we could put ourselves threw another course. He came back with it 20 minutes later. And threw it on the table. That was the icing on the cake! Thanks Slow hand for an unreal experience. Don't let that gorgeous Restraunt go to wast!! Really hit and miss. Pros: fried chicken with mashed potatoes and collards was delicious. As was the baked mac and cheese. Cocktail was tiny but delicious. Loved the aesthetic they were going for. Cons: tabletops are right next to each other separated by a 4" bar, so it's like you're literally having dinner with the table next to you and you have to choose your conversation wisely. Stage by the door took up the whole wall and was awkward. Bar wall looked somewhat empty. So the whole ambiance looked like a halfway finished restaurant with awkward seating. Jambalaya was inedible. So salty even someone who loves salt couldn't eat it. What really disappointed was the server. I generally don't care much one way or the other with servers, but I got a tiny 2-3oz cocktail that I'd been nursing and when she came to ask how food was, she cleared it without asking! What was left in the glass was relative to its tiny size, but there was still a good bit left! Not great service on a $15 cocktail. Further, we did let her know the jambalaya was inedible and she didn't even say that she'd pass the message along. So definite potential at this restaurant, but several misses. read more

I am shocked this place doesn't have 5 stars. Definitely the best food in town! Our waiter, James, was very personable and made the restaurant feel homey and fun. We had a beer, the egg white gin ginger cocktail, the beet salad, fried egg, scrapple, the sliders, and the peanut butter chocolate dessert. The dessert and fried egg were definitely the stars, but everything was egg-celent. 10/10! read more

Disappointing. Finally got to try this place yesterday. My husband and I live in the area and love trying out all the great restaurants in West Chester. The service was the best part of our experience, although the hostess who seated us seemed a little irritated (at what, I'm not sure.) Maybe it was because I commented that the seat was torn up and I didn't want to sit on a bench that was cracked and half the top was flaking off. Our waitress on the other hand was excellent. We ordered a chocolate espresso martini and a cosmo. The martini glass was small and the espresso beans were stale. The cosmo came in a flat champagne glass, also small. We both ordered the flat iron steaks/medium. My husband's was OK, but mine was tough and had a thick piece of hard fat in it. Not what I expected from that cut of meat. Cucumber salad and potato cakes were good. Won't be going back. read more

My wife and I wanted to like this place. It was suggested to me by someone who used to own a WC restaurant. The decor is great, if a bit utilitarian. The picture of Conway Twitty over the bar sparks questions and conversation. The menu is a tad obscure and sparse. Obscure in the sense that the food isn't immediately recognizable and sparse in that there is a simple list of about 12 things that you can order from the kitchen. We came for A traditional dinner but deduced from the menu that they only served tapas so we started with the tomato salad which was an ample size. It was good. We were encouraged. I then got the lamb "stomach busters" which was a fancy name for sliders. Again good. I ordered the Pepper Steak and it was cooked right but a bit tough due to the cut of meat. They didn't seem to offer any starches (potatoes, bread) and there was no salt or pepper to be found on the tables. So our meal consisted entirely of meat besides the tomatoes. We each had two glasses of wine. My wife was disappointed so we got the check. $94.00 plus tip! I had to double check the bill. Won't be returning real soon. read more

I came here for a weekday lunch a couple of months ago after reading an article about the chef and restaurant. Initial excitement was dampened by the fact that the restaurant was empty other than our table! That always makes for a strange atmosphere but it was a weekday. Menu is small and I had trouble finding something I was in the mood for. In the end settled on the fried chicken cutlet, something I would not normally order. It was delicious! The bacon and greens salad it came with really made it. So much flavor. In terms of appetizers we enjoyed the ham croquettes but the papas bravas were extremely disappointing. No relations to the real deal. Just overly fried potatoes with a little sauce. The craft cocktails were good - although the draft old fashioned did not come with a cherry, but rather lemon and lime peel. My favorite part! The bartender brought me one when I asked, but the drink definitely needs a fancy cherry! Wine by the glass options were well chosen. I will definitely go back, in particular to try brunch. read more
