The food is amazing here i wont deny it,everything is good, personally good service and ambiance is really good i like it tbh i would definitely recommend! BUT be warned the cooling system here could be better..they have fans so sitting somewhere just to stay cool in a hot day is a struggle,if you come here choose wisely where you sit...that's the only issue here other than that everything here is so perfect and i have nothing bad to say about this place

I can confirm S'mac still has it going on. Really nothing much has changed. The interior takes me back to my college years, it's still orange hued and woodsy, but now there's self ordering kiosks! Choose your size and your flavor option. If you're feeling bold, create your own combination. And in a few minutes you'll be delivered crusty, cheesy, goodness. I ordered the alpine, which came with mushroom, rosemary and fig pieces and left satisfied. The figs added a nice sweetness. The mushroom cut through the richness, but there was still plenty of cheese for that cheese pull. Truthfully I couldn't even finish the small size, because it was so much. But still, S'mac scratches that nostalgic itch of food that still hits after all these years.

The masala Mac was really yummy. Super flavorful and the cheese was great. Like the different sizes they have too. Service was pretty quick.

I don't know how many years I've been coming here but I don't care how far the drive is but it's worth it! The service is still the same, fast pace and great! I wish the place was bigger though. There is nothing to complain; The food is done to perfection, made your own way/ how you like it.

Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of this little corner spot. My kid and I decided to grab some mac n cheese after our long ass day in the city before heading home. This place did not disappoint- it's really not the spot for sit down and dine in - if i had pictures you'd see why. However the mac was bomb and a great serving size for the both of us. I added some grilled chicken to it for the sake of protein. You place your order at the kiosk and wait - food was out in less than 10 minutes. I definitely recommend this spot and i will be revisiting. Next time i will take some pics of inside.

Thank you for being allergy aware! Was able to eat here with multiple food allergies! The hot food and quick service hit the spot on a cold day.

I found this place because I literally searched for "Mac and cheese" as I was craving my favorite food! There's a similar concept in Houston, so I was thrilled to find a new Mac-and-cheese-devoted restaurant in my new city!! When I arrived, it was almost 3pm so the restaurant was pretty empty, although it actually started to pick up a bit by the time I left. You order directly from a kiosk and you'll pick a table number so that they can bring it to you as soon as it's ready. I did a build-your-own option as I'm vegetarian and also wanted a specific flavor due to being a cheese snob. The Mac came out quick, piping hot and oh so fresh! It's served in its own little skillet, which helps keep it warm and is also just really cute. It was sooo delicious!! I combined gruyere with Munster cheese, added spinach and garlic then topped it with bread crumbs. Mmm mmm MMM! Also, they have a water dispenser near the entrance to the kitchen! I was happy that flavored sparkling water was sold here as I don't drink sodas, but I also snagged some free water while I was at it. Since summer is here, just know that they don't seem to have AC here! The restaurant was very open-concept. I chose to sit near a fan and the open "window" area in order to enjoy a breeze along with my meal.

I'm not the biggest mac and cheese fan but S'mac is a game-changer. The Masala did not hold back on the spices. So much flavor that adds depth to plain ol' mac and cheese. The Buffalo Chicken is packed with chicken pieces and plenty saucy. Honestly, a "nosh" was plenty enough for me since it is a very heavy and loaded mac and cheese. My boyfriend housed his "major munch" no problem (big appetite). S'MAC is a super casual spot--they have little kiosks in the front to order and you grab a number and a table and wait for a fresh mac and cheese skillet that they serve you.

Self order spot. If you're craving a Mac n cheese day, this is your spot. They have lots of options to add on, garlic, mushrooms, broccoli.. everything! You can choose to add bread crumbs which I recommend. Happy I made a stop here while visiting.

Have known about this place for years, but never stopped by until recently - not bad! Good variety of menu options of Mac 'n' Cheese, very filling portions, and reasonable-ish prices. It's a relatively small, laid-back joint with just 1 chef and 1 other person running things - yet people get served promptly enough. You can serve yourself water from a tank, or you can order any number of soft drinks or beer as well. They have a touchscreen ordering system that's pretty straightforward, you're given a number and served within 5-10 minutes tops. If it's your first visit, definitely recommend the sampler platter - has easily enough food for one person or a solid amount to share for two, and you get to try all of their main varieties of Mac 'n' Cheese in one go. We felt that their American option (as classic as you can get) was actually their best item in the end - with a few contenders for second place (including the 4 Cheese and the "Cheeseburger" options). Everything is quite customizable no matter what you order - you can add more cheese, more breadcrumbs, more sauce and so forth for literally anything on the menu. Their smallest size for any one flavor, besides the sampler, is plenty for a single person - but you can scale up if you want to share with other people. Their largest "Party" size costs $69, kinda curious just how much tonnage of Mac 'n' Cheese we're talking about there. Fun spot, would come back for sure.

So comforting, so good. Fair price for the portion size. You really can't go wrong with the flavors here. It could've been a tad bit spicier but that's just me.

Best spot for winter cravings and rainy day remedy! They have a substantial size menu- They have 3 sizes but honestly the smallest is alot(Nosh). The mac n cheese is super creamy and cheesy so even the small size is enough for 1 person serving. We got three flavors and shared. Best was their Chicken tikka! Loved mediterranean too-Alpine was just ok. Must try if you are a mac and cheese lover. Its not high end dinning place so yeah seating is pretty casual but they have alot of tables. Liked the casual vibe. Will defo return!

Food looked delicious but was just okay.

For the sampler, can they make a Vegetarian sampler (no meat)?

Hi Erum - right now our sampler is a mix of veg and meat, we don’t offer a vegetarian version. Sorry!

    Is indoor dining available?

Hi Veronica - we aren’t doing indoor dining as of yet. We have outdoor dining available with most tables protected by vinyl but there are not any heaters. Thanks!

    Is the chicken halal?

    No, macaroni cheese

    How much is the sampler?

Hi Daniel. The sampler is 17. All of the prices are on their website. http://www.eatsmac.com/menu/ I should note, you get very generous, filling portions.

Can I order to-go? Or is it sit down only?

It's both options. You can order to go AND you can sit there and eat. If you look at their website, you'll see the style of dining area they have.

What is the vegan cheese sauce made of?

The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. Although the space was packed, it didn't feel too loud or crowded. We spent about two hours and didn't feel rushed.

I went on a Thursday night, and the place was absolutely packed. The front feels more like a bar/casual area, while the dining room is tucked toward the back. My reservation was at 10:15 PM, so I actually had a light dinner beforehand and ordered a little lighter than I normally would. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

It's better than it needs to be, which in this neighborhood counts for a lot. The room is the star. Brass, smoked mirrors, marble, wallpaper with burlesque dancers, very Gatsby cosplay but done with actual money. Think the Campbell at Grand Central, minus the $28 martini attitude. It's also LOUD downstairs. Ask for upstairs if you want to hear your date. Gin is the program here and they take it seriously, house-infused bottles paired with specific tonics, not an afterthought. My G&T was legitimately well built. Food from chef JC Colón is better than cocktail-bar standard: truffle fries in duck fat are worth it, the lobster mac at $31 is rich and fine but you've had it before. Skip dessert. The steak frites at $48 is where I'd tap out, that's real-restaurant money for bar food execution. Here's the move though: weekday happy hour, 4 to 7. Dollar oysters and $13 cocktails in a room this pretty is one of the best deals in Midtown, full stop. Service was warm and fast even slammed. Not a destination, but if you're near Bryant Park or seeing a show, this beats everything else within five blocks. Book ahead, walk-ins were getting turned away by 5:30.

Did an earlier dinner on a Saturday with a friend at the bar. We got some similar items, some different. The thing I kept the same was my martinis and all three (sour cream and onion, tomato, and espresso) were just as amazing as ever. Food-wise, I stuck mainly to the classics with one new dish: - Pizza rolls: Very good but 3 pizza rolls for $20 felt small to me. I feel like I remember seeing others served more when I've gone in the past, but not completely sure. They're nostalgic and fun, nothing to die for. - Fries: Great as ever, we opted for just one of the sauces (avocado dill). - French Dip: This used to be cut in 3 pieces and now it's 2. Works well with a duo but I do think it's actually a little smaller now than before when I compare photos. - Samoa sundae: Still amazing, still so so worth. It was fun going with a friend who hadn't been before and seeing the joy upon trying the dish! After greeting you as you walk up, the first question the door guy asks is if you have a reservation. After being let in (once you said yes), there is a another line at the host stand to verify the reservations, then to be seated. This area is a narrow space between the bar and the staff behind the podium so there will still be a smaller wait outside for those waiting to get in due to tight space. Once seated, the bartender Meaghan came over immediately to greet us, offering sparkling, still or tap water. Alongside your glass, there was a selection of citrus (lemon/lime/orange) or cucumber to add which was a nice touch. Although I already had an idea of what I wanted, I went a completely different direction once she mentioned the off-menu selections. This ended up being the heirloom tomato salad (I know, when the heck have I ever ordered anything like this) which was $20, and a side of their hand-cut fries, $13.95. You are to order everything at once, and they course it out accordingly. The people next to me ordered a lot of food; most of it the popular items which I veered away from with the exception of the fries. The party on the other side went with two items I was considering prior so it was nice to see what these looked like up close. The tomato salad was very good! I normally scrape off onions but I actually ate all of them and the taste didn't 'stay with you' which I was grateful for, while the basil flavor was a nice contrast. These were the larger beefsteak style tomatoes so I was fork and knifing this dish. I will admit this, along with the fries, were a little more salty than what I am used to but it was delicious overall. I almost considered a sauce with the fries but they honestly did not need it; the flavor was more than enough on their own. Wasn't planning on it, but I ended up adding the apple hand pies ($19) which were pretty good. They didn't have anything really chocolate-based, so this was the next best thing. Since they come in an order of two, I ended up taking the other hand pie to go. Restrooms are right past the bar, down a flight of steps and there are two single-sex doors. If you are seated at the bar, you pretty much have no reason to go past that into the dining room so it felt like a subtle off-limit area (and staff was there to direct you where to go). Truth is, I really didn't want to like this place. I didn't want to have to deal with scoring a reservation in the future however the food I had was decent (and there are still some items I want to try), service from the doorman, Meaghan, the food runners, and hostesses was fantastic, and the atmosphere was great. You may also end up talking to fellow diners comparing dishes, and it made for an enjoyable experience all around. I'd say it was worth it.

Very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Filthy Martini. So good! The blue cheese stuffed olives were delicious. Brunch Menu. My main dish, I went with the double smash burger. Upgraded the fries to parmesan truffle fries. It was delicious! I would like to come back again, especially to try the dinner menu. Overall, great experience, and very satisfied.

Dark and very low lighting. Customer service is attentive as I was greeted by the hostess upon entry in a bar parlor style seating area. I did not lie in wait for a table. I was promptly seated at a high table in the dark. I did not need a booth. I was willing to be seated at the bar counter. Facilities are relatively clean. Double Smash burger $26.00 Features two thin, crispy beef patties immersed in iceberg, pickles, caramelized onions, American cheese, special sauce with French fries The burger was average as I did engulf within minutes to satisfy my hunger pangs. There were minimal lettuce and seemingly no pickles. Intimate and casual atmosphere does not make the optimal lighting for visual assessment. My male server stated "it is really not two patties, but it is one large patty separated into two." Truth: it is two thin beef patties. It was good, but not juicy filled with intense flavor for seasoning. The French fries were somewhat burnt because it waa hard. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of high intensity extortionate 25%, 22% and 20% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I did obtain my sales receipt as keepsake. Business cards are available for grabs.

Absolutely awful experience. Never again. Do NOT recommend…read more One of the staff, in charge of refilling water, spilled water on our table multiple times. I watched him spill on other tables as well. He never apologized. He never wiped it up. Then 4th time he filled our glasses, he spilled the water on my wife. He did not apologize. He did not even acknowledge it and it was very clear that he noticed he did it. My wife, quite restrained, let our waitress know what happened. Her response: "What do you want me to do about it?" My wife said that he should not serving water if he doesn't know how to pour it properly. The waitress, moments later, told him what we had said, merely inches from our tables. Beyond awkward. And, instead of coming over and apologizing, he simply never returned to our table. No more water. The waitress had an attitude with us since we sat down - no idea what we could have done - unsure what was going on - but it was beyond unpleasant. Most of our "table conversation" was about how lousy the staff were acting and how uncomfortable we felt along with how much we couldn't wait to leave. We had shared an appetizer and had no interest in ordering anything else after that. We paid. We left. I feel stupid for tipping them.
