It's an impossible burger with vegan cheese you can get at the grocery store, but the way they prepare it together gave me that charred taste that I enjoyed growing up. For $14, it's a pricy burger but it did taste good and hit the junk food cravings. The Chili Cheese Waffle Fries however came in the smallest container ever. For nearly $10, I was expecting at least double the amount of fries for a rather small amount of vegan cheese and chili on top. So, the only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star establishment is the customer service. It is not the people but the app and overall communication about what they do or do not have available. The day we visited my wife ordered chili cheese fries and they charged her for them even though they didn't have any available. It took about a month for her to get credit back via our credit card company. The food, especially the impossible burger and soft serve, was awesome. It is the best VEGAN burger I have ever had. Honestly, this tasted 88% like a real burger. What's memorable was the added jalapeños had a slightly Smokey kick to it which made the burger go up a few notches in my book. I might have had the best vegan burger of my life at Jerrell's. The impossible Patty's were so delicious and the OG came with impossible bacon and jalapeños and vegan cheese. If you're a fan of chili theirs is also quite good. Paired with the crispiest, the crispiest, waffle fries I've had ever, it was so delicious. We also got a refreshing pineapple shake which in my opinion is the best and most elite shake since it was so refreshing and didn't contain any dairy! (Their shakes are made with oat milk). If you put this burger and a hamburger in front of a carnivore I can almost guarantee you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. From the appearance of the patty to the taste it's impossible to tell this is 100% plant based. The burger itself is so beautifully put together it could well be the famed krabby patty brought to life or a mouthwatering burger off a fast food commercial (which never lives up to those expectations of presentation). However, the patties did taste like impossible burger meat. You could tell this isn't a "real burger." The bun was an everything seasoning, which I'm also not the biggest fan of. The texture was not as chewy as meat and more on the soft side. The waffle fries were FANTASTIC though. It was flavorful, perfectly salted, and crispy. There's not really "indoor" seating. You order at a window and there's 2 tables, covered by the roof. I would describe it as an extension of the place. It took about 10 minutes to get our food and we could hear it grilling inside, so it was made to order. This used to be my go to vegan burger joint. I haven't had it in about a year and was excited to try it again. We ordered and specifically asked for chili cheese fries. When we were given our order there were just plain fries and the back. When we inquired about this, we were told that they didn't have the items for chili cheese fries ready at the time, so they took it upon themselves and gave us plain fries. They asked if we wanted the chili cheese fries and and we said yes. The young man walked away and came back a few minutes later asking us to pay for the chili cheese fries at whip point we simply left. when we got home, we found out the amount of fries was laughable. I've been dying to try this black owned business, and it's vegan!! Yum! I actually wanted to try another restaurant week spot, but when i got there it wasn't what i expected it to be. So i left out, and decided on this spot instead. Not a bad compromise outside the fact that it's a vegan burger joint. I ordered 2 OG better burgers with impossible Pattie's, and the works. I also ordered 2 waffle fries and some sauce, the jerrell sauce and a garlic aioli. That was sooo good with the fries. I really enjoyed the burger. The buns were soooo nice and soft, the burger was seasoned!!! I mean i tasted garlic powder and everything. It was sooo delicious. I will definitely return here. The service was great. The guy who took my order was very nice, personable and cute lol. It's a take out spot so not much ambiance. There was some people sitting outside eating at the tables they had available. It was cold that night too. I will come back here tho. Cuz i enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you're looking for a vegan alternative that holds up to regular burgers. The price was a bit pricey.
