We found this burger joint after a long hike, in the midst of COVID. My kids were famished so when we saw this small brightly lit building while driving, we pulled over through the drive through and ordered our meals. The other reviewers were right...their regular, classic fries are the best I've had in while. They are super crunchy, tad bit overly salted. As much as their fries blew our mind, their curly fries failed to measure up to its straighter cousin. They must've fried their fries twice but with the curly fries, they overcooked it and left us with a bitter aftertaste. Their burgers (we ordered hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and nacon cheeseburger) and their chicken strips are nothing to rave about. The drive-through was excruciatingly slow even during non-rush hour. So, I had to get out and walk in. The burger was horrible. There was no flavour. Just a slab of beef, bacon, cheese and something else thrown together. The prices are insane for a small place in a small town. The burger was cold, but I didn't want to drive back. They did not even care to warm it up before serving, because it was clearly pre-made by some guy sitting in Issaquah. There was no place to sit, which could have been charming. This place is a toss up between a 3 and a 4, so I was nice and rounded up. It's definitely a small town burger joint for sure. There are a couple tables (high tops) inside along with picnic tables outside during the warm months. There's also a drive up window to place your order, but if a line forms you pull over to the side - keep in mind this place isn't "fast food," your food is prepared to order. I generally get just a shake from here - Oreo Peanut Butter to be exact. It's a good choice close to home - but expect to pay around $7 or $8 for a standard size (a little spendy, but hey - support local business right). We just recently got their 3 burgers for $5. This is was rounded up my stars. They were so good. Very simple, yet delicious. I wasn't expecting the wonderfulness out of it - so I will be returning more often now :) As for their fries - the one time I got them they were soggy and not that great. We dropped by for a late lunch/dinner of Bacon Burgers, Fries and Malts after visiting Snoqualmie Falls. The portions were generous, the food "good", and the prices also good compared to fast food joints in general. The place has an "Excellent" rating from King Co Dept of Health, which is important. The place was kind of a "blast from the past", and reminded us of other roadside burger joints you used to see along the hi way in days gone by. It was a fun place to eat ! I used to come here a lot and had the chance to come here for lunch today. Paid for my burger just minutes after my coworker. He got his food and was almost done eating when I finally was able to get the staffs attention who were too busy having political conversations than to help customers, just to find out that they lost my ticket and didn't start my food. Then was told it will be "just 10 more minutes" sadly disappointed and won't be coming back. It's a shame to have to give a negative review because I actually like the food here, but the employees are breaking the law by not wearing masks. Almost every time I've come, the employees are all minors who aren't wearing masks and having minor employees doesn't make them exempt from following the law. Please require your employees to follow proper hygiene and mask requirements. The shack is already pretty gross on the inside, but would be more comforting if the employees followed any health codes at all. Lastly, I watched minor employees shotgun beers in their car in the parking lot before going back to their shift on one occasion. This made me absolutely uncomfortable. read more

I loved the vibe of the whole place and the customer service was just normal, not bad but not out of the ordinary amazing. The only reason I didn't give it one star was because the shakes were good but all the other food I got was just really disappointing. I ordered the value burger deal with the fries, the fries were nice and crispy but that's all they had going for them. The burgers however had no redeeming quality other than that it gave me some blood sugar. I would have rather gotten a quarter pounder with cheese from McDonald's, they are like the same thing but one is both cheaper and better. Spent 45 dollars for 3 meals that should have been half the price. I left regretting eating there but not even in a normal fast food kind of way, I want to erase that burger from my stomach, I wasted my digestive enzymes. read more

Takes them about 5-10 minutes per burger so if there is literally anyone else ahead of you it's not worth it. I am back in WA after being gone for over a decade. This place is still here, and still no one has served me fries as good as these. Burgers are good, fast food style burgers (thin patties so if you need a meat coma, order double). Milkshakes still taste great instead of the gooey thickener filled ones elsewhere. The chicken sandwich was on point as well. I had been hyping this place up to the wife who isn't from around here and had never been, and it lived up to the hype and more. Great friendly service. I really don't like to give one star reviews and this is rare for me because I always like to give a small business the benefit of the doubt BUT I couldn't eat the French fries cause they were too salty and the bacon cheeseburger was barely edible. The fries were now seasoned, and really good, in addition to being generous. We went to the driveup, parked and a masked woman brought us the food. Only "fast food" place in town, so it really doesn't have any competition. They make a decent shake (tho WAY over priced), but their fries are way too salty, and the rest of their food is simply okay. If you're in a hurry, it's really your only option. Way back in the 80's this place was like no other. Super Burgers...Great Service and looked squeaky clean. Sometime in the 90's it must have changed hands because it just wasn't the same? and the Service was not the same. My Hubby and I went there a few months ago for burgers and Chili Fryes. They specialize in "Grease, Salt, Sugar, and Caffeine." If you are on a diet, then this is not the place for you. Otherwise, this is a great little "hole in the wall" type of burger joint. The burgers are great and fries are delicious. My kids say that the corndogs are great also and I've heard from my husband that the shakes are good too. There are picnic tables outside and on sunny days that just adds to the fun of the experience, in my opinion. Selling points: 1) Fries cooked in real lard (woohoo!) 2) Good burgers 3) Decent milkshakes 4) Not a chain Drawbacks 1) Expensive for what you get (this is disappointing considering its reputation as a downhome dive) 2) Wait times tend to be long (perhaps a consequence of employee turnover) 3) The only bathroom is a portable and there is a dumpster nearby. Not bad for the price. I had the two chili dogs special. Standard dog, standard chili. Basic but good. Be warned that they don't come with cheese. The guy in the window was cool enough to offer it to me but he said if it was busy he wouldn't have time for it. The inside is small and a little unkept but overall clean. He fired up the bike and let it rumble across the street to the gravel lot without putting his helmet on. Who was going to say anything to him about it? He nodded to the biker in the black "smoking rocks" t-shirt, took a glance at the ink on his Betty's thigh: skulls and roses, isn't it always? He shuffled around in his saddle bag for a crumpled five, a few ones and some loose change scattered around the bottom. Cheeseburger, fries, root beer milk shake (better than chocolate on a hot day and blackberry always has seeds in it). A few minutes later he pulled the frosty milkshake cup off the counter along with the greasy burger and fry bag. The cup wasn't full but he wasn't going to take it up with the kid at the register. The shake was too thick to drink too but a few minutes in this sun would melt it enough to get through the straw. The bag of spiced fries was big, good thing because he hadn't eaten since last night. The burger with everything on it reminded him of some burger joint from years ago in Nevada, not fancy but just good with a lot mayo and mustard. His leather vest started to vibrate. I've passed by this little burger stand several times and finally decided to stop to treat my kids. I'm so glad I did! They raved and asked immediately if we could come back so my husband could try it. We ordered Oreo, Vanilla and Peanut Butter/Oreo shakes and all three were perfectly mixed. Our orders of both curly and regular fries were large, crisp on the outside/soft on the inside, and well seasoned- just how we like them. We also ordered a bacon burger which, according to my son, is his new all-time favorite. I like the small-town burger stand feel of this place and we enjoyed looking at the murals of local sights inside. The two guys running it were friendly and happy to make recommendations. We came at a time when only one other person was there, which was great for us. The only thing we were a little confused about was where to park. I'm a big supporter of the local joints around Fall City but for some reason the prices have gone up and the quality down. About a year ago the burgers were BOMB! They seemed to have gone to some pre-packaged/pre-formed burger meat. The flavor is bland and not juicy at all. I used to bring the fries home for my boyfriend and I live over an hr away from here, he would reheat them in the oven and they were just as good. We always stopped at Small Fryes on the way home. The fries (or fryes) were served in brown lunch bags and the delicious grease would soak through making beautiful window-pane patterns on the once plain bag.
