My friend and I came to try out 12th Ave Cafe after a quick hike one Saturday around 11am. We were quite fortunate and only had to wait 10 minutes to get seated. The restaurant seemed quite busy, but there was all in all a good flow of people going in and out. Right off the bat, we loved that their TVs had dog and cat videos! How fun is that? It's so unexpected and honestly brilliant. For food we ordered the lemon-ricotta pancakes and the Los Angeles Eggs Benedict. Both were quite yummy! For the LA Benedict, I will say the Benedict was amazing! The chorizo was so yummy and paired well with the sauce, perfectly poached egg, avocado, tomatoes, and English muffin. For us the side of potatoes with green bell peppers and onions was a tad bit lacking. But all in all it was a delicious dish. Now as for the lemon-ricotta pancakes? Those were delicious! No complaints! I would definitely come again with friends in the near future.

    * Chicken fried steak 5/5 * Hotdog sandwich 3.5/5 * Breakfast burrito 4/5 * Bread pudding 3/5 Chicken fried steak was amazing! I'm almost positive. It's a new kind of gravy and they put on a ton of it. You can also substitute your toast for pancakes, which is great.

Our hotel didn't offer breakfast and this was the closest besides fast food. It ended up being a great choice! The service was very quick. Food was good and came in large portions. It was also clean and staff was very attentive.

We came here on a Saturday morning and waited maybe 10-15 minutes before we were seated. The inside of this place was very vibey and felt like we went back in time a bit. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. The portions were pretty generous and we were stuffed. The Chicken Fried Steak was a little too much after awhile and we were glad we shared both of these items. The food felt a bit oily and the ventilation of the place wasn't so great. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were delicious and we liked the generous amount of fresh fruit that came with it.

We had not been in the 12th Ave. for quite a while. The ownership has changed, but it seems like the food, is still high-quality. The volume of food seems a little bit lighter than it used to be, but again it's quality, and I don't need to eat a giant plate of food. My son, on the other hand, he likes a giant plate of food as you can tell in one of the pictures. it took a while to get in the door, but it was a Saturday or Sunday morning, but once we got in, we got served immediately. The ambience in here was really good, lots of customers, servers moving about, food flying every direction in a good way, all of it plates delivered the way it should be. I had the basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. A little skinny on the bacon, in my opinion, but the quality and flavor was there. My wife had the avocado toast, as obvious and one of the pictures. She was only able to eat half of it, brought the rest home, as it came with the Caprese salad. My son, he had the large Montana special. As you can see in the picture this was a mountain of food. I'm happy to report, that he was not able to eat all of it. He did finish it by the end of the day. He is a large individual, works as a car mechanic, has a big appetite.

Such a cute little diner. The staff was very friendly. We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. It wasn't crowded so our food came out very quickly. The menu had so many appealing items and it was hard to choose which entree to get . We will definitely return!

While in Issaquah the other day we decided to try the 12Th ave Café You see I wanted breakfast, and my significant other is not a big breakfast fan so she could get a sandwich. Viola, we both got something good! First things first, this is a very clean and well-run café! A very friendly and efficient staff with a lot of regular patrons. I decided on the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. This comes with these "12th Ave Spuds". Hmmmm you say... Well let me tell ya the CFS was fantastic! Good portion, eggs cooked exactly as I asked and the "12th ave spuds" are AWESOME! Chunked potatoes, onions and green pepper. Although I am not super fond of green bell peppers the flavor was very suttle, with firm but not crunchy hard potatoes! Now let's get to the gravy.. Gravy can go one of several ways. This gravy was spot on in my book.. In my opinion it was a bit more like cream of mushroom soup, creamy not lumpy not over seasoned and definitely not greasy! And yes it had a mushroomish taste. I ate the whole damn plate!I was told about this place by a co-worker.. Now I suggest you try it! I forgot about the busicut it was tasty as well. I think what made it so good was the jam/jelly it was served with.. Strawberry and Raspberry, no not mixed. They were very tasty with compote like flavor. The sandwich was a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato on white bread. Now I did not taste the sandwich because it was eaten to the last crumb I will surmise it was pretty good! The "Thin" fry's that came with it were pretty tasty, I did try them, they are of the "Double Crisp" style if you will... All in all we will make the trek to go back!

When we walked in, almost all the tables were full and the dining room is shaped kind of like an L. There are booths and normal wooden tables. We were greeted by a host and sat down immediately upon entering. The majority of the tables in the restaurant were filled as well. That caused service to be pretty inattentive and slow. We didn't get to place our order for 10 minutes and it took another 40 minutes to come out. The server did apologize for this and explained there was a big party in the back, so there was grace for this as the staff members all seemed kind. We had ordered several dishes to share. Fun fact: you can ask for items to be made in side portions even though it's not listed on the menu like we did with the pancakes and hash. lemon ricotta pancake: fluffy and light texture wise. I didn't taste much lemon, but the fresh berries and cream atop still made for a delicious bite. The batter itself isn't too sweet either and i liked how they placed all the condiments on the side. corned beef hash: well seasoned. This was my first time trying corned beef hash, so I don't have anything to compare it to. It's a simple dish with beef and potatoes but I probably wouldn't order again so I felt it was dry to eat alone without sauce. crab benedict: crabs tasted fresh and the eggs were well poached. It had the perfect runny consistency. My only critique is that I wish the hollandaise sauce was stronger, it gets muted by the crab and egg. migas: I enjoyed the flavor, but wished there was more protein. It was mainly tortilla chips and I didn't see the bell peppers listed on the menu. The hashbrowns I got with the dish were crispy and not too oily. I also enjoyed their fresh baked biscuits which were moist and paired well with the berry jam provided. All in all, I thought they had very good portion sizes at this restaurant for the price of things. We enjoyed the flavor and atmosphere. It can get loud with a lot of people dining all at once and the tables being so close together, but it's a nice option for family breakfast if you don't mind these factors. I rounded up a star giving them the benefit of the doubt that their service isn't normally like, but I appreciate the freshness of their ingredients most. It's worth the try and they have a nice parking lot in the back of the plaza that is free.

We ordered the half portions and it was perfect. The salsa on the Huevos Rancheros was delicious-- smoky, spicy, and had the perfect kick to balance the flavors of everything else going on the plate. The California Eggs Benedict came with grilled onions, which I absolutely loved. (You don't see onions typically in that dish.) Hash browns were meh. My favorite however was the avocado crema that came with the Breakfast Quesadillas. Creamy and flavorful-- they made the quesadillas sing. Quesadillas were scrumptious-- chock full of scrambled eggs, veggies, and green onions, this one is going to be on our repeat menu . We loved it so much that the person who served gave a complimentary cup to go as we were packing the leftovers. On that note I must say that the service was warm and attentive. We also ordered a mule, which was well made. For happy hour, we shared the half charcuterie board ($12), and it was beautifully presented with a great variety.
