The hostess and staff were all super friendly. There were a couple of large parties ahead of us and they were able to get everyone seated quickly. There is not a ton of seating but it has a quaint diner feel to it. I had their special brisket benedict. The brisket was a little on the chewy side but the hollandaise sauce more than made up for it. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The bacon was crispy, like I prefer, but I found it a little too salty. Went on a late Sunday morning for breakfast, so I already knew it'd be busy. We put our name on the wait list, and there were about 6 people on the list ahead of us. But looked like a lot of people left after putting their name on the list, because we waited less than five minutes before being seated. We started off with the Cinnamon Roll because bf loves them. He finished it before the rest of the food came out. We also ordered French Toast, Chicken Fried Steak, and the Trucker Combo. Everything was delicious. My bf loves the biscuits and gravy, and really enjoyed it here. My friend and I came to try out 12th Ave Cafe after a quick hike one Saturday around 11am. We were quite fortunate and only had to wait 10 minutes to get seated. The restaurant seemed quite busy, but there was all in all a good flow of people going in and out. Right off the bat, we loved that their TVs had dog and cat videos! How fun is that? It's so unexpected and honestly brilliant. For food we ordered the lemon-ricotta pancakes and the Los Angeles Eggs Benedict. Both were quite yummy! For the LA Benedict, I will say the Benedict was amazing! The chorizo was so yummy and paired well with the sauce, perfectly poached egg, avocado, tomatoes, and English muffin. For us the side of potatoes with green bell peppers and onions was a tad bit lacking. But all in all it was a delicious dish. Now as for the lemon-ricotta pancakes? Those were delicious! This time it was just my almost four-year-old granddaughter who decided pancakes for lunch was just what she deeded after spending the morning at a nearby park. The staff here is so nice, and of course anyone who takes care to welcome a child gets high praise in my book. I have been here for breakfast a number of times and each time the meal has been a pleasure. The service is as good as anywhere, if not better, and the food is beyond compare There is nothing on the menu that I could even come close to complaining about not only that but everything that my partner and I ordered was as good as if not better than any other breakfast place in the area. We had not been in the 12th Ave. for quite a while. The ownership has changed, but it seems like the food, is still high-quality. The volume of food seems a little bit lighter than it used to be, but again it's quality, and I don't need to eat a giant plate of food. My son, on the other hand, he likes a giant plate of food as you can tell in one of the pictures. it took a while to get in the door, but it was a Saturday or Sunday morning, but once we got in, we got served immediately. The ambience in here was really good, lots of customers, servers moving about, food flying every direction in a good way, all of it plates delivered the way it should be. I had the basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. A little skinny on the bacon, in my opinion, but the quality and flavor was there. My wife had the avocado toast, as obvious and one of the pictures. She was only able to eat half of it, brought the rest home, as it came with the Caprese salad. My son, he had the large Montana special. As you can see in the picture this was a mountain of food. I'm happy to report, that he was not able to eat all of it. Stopped here early in the morning with my young daughter while we waited for a family members surgery nearby. The staff were really nice and attentive, they were quick to serve us and loved chatting with my daughter. She got coloring pages and usually my kids just leave the coloring papers on the table after we're done eating and while we were leaving the staff hung up her coloring pages and let her know they were going to be on their wall, it was really nice of them! Although I am not super fond of green bell peppers the flavor was very suttle, with firm but not crunchy hard potatoes! Now let's get to the gravy.. Gravy can go one of several ways. This gravy was spot on in my book.. In my opinion it was a bit more like cream of mushroom soup, creamy not lumpy not over seasoned and definitely not greasy! And yes it had a mushroomish taste. I ate the whole damn plate!I was told about this place by a co-worker.. Now I suggest you try it! I forgot about the busicut it was tasty as well. I think what made it so good was the jam/jelly it was served with.. Strawberry and Raspberry, no not mixed. They were very tasty with compote like flavor. The sandwich was a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato on white bread. Now I did not taste the sandwich because it was eaten to the last crumb I will surmise it was pretty good! We experienced the major changes in Issaquah, when it morphed from a small city to a large metropolis. 12th avenue cafe was one that changed. We went to the small popular cafe. loving the food and service there. However, there was a major change. their popularity exploded and they had to expand their services.. I do miss the previous smaller setting and the higher quality of delivery and food that was offered. However, still love their breakfasts. Now, rather than a cozy cafe experience, they are located in a strip mall by Target. Points off for the more inpersonal shuffling of you to a table. Points off for the more rushed and in-personal service . I think this-is my biggest regret. Honestly, the food was not the best, but the service convinced you to love the experience. Now, bad service and mediocre food does not make an enjoyable visit . They try hard, but just not the same great food, quality, price and good service. read more

However, we recently met my mother there for a pre-Christmas breakfast as we wouldn't be able to see her on Christmas and, after just 45 minutes in our seats, maybe 5 mins after my mom and I had finished our food and my wife, who wasn't feeling well and trying to slowly eat her bagel, told the server she could take the remainder away, the server said "okay, we have many people waiting", passive aggressively telling us to hurry up... So, bottom line, if you want average diner food at Eastside prices (not cheap) and fast food service, this is your place! I'm confident in saying there is something for everyone, I saw my favorite breakfast staple which is "Country fried steak" & my better half went with the "Los Angeles Benedict" I'm really picky about my country fried steak and this cafe raised that bar! Great flavorful fried steak with a perfect complement of sausage gravy which was also a delight. With their "spuds" aka home fries (which they serve instead of typical hash browns) super delicious and I highly recommend you order them crispy! Thank me later. I also opted to get their homemade biscuit instead of toast for my side and it was delicious! They have homemade jam that is a must order every time! The LA Benedict was a flavor train with the chorizo and hollandaise sauce that works so well paired together! Get a little savory with a hint of sweetness from the sauce which is in my opinion a balanced sauce not too thick or thin just right. Dropped in, for the first time, today for a breakfast because I'd seen and heard about this spot for years. Everything we've heard was good. So it was an easy decision and felt low risk. At this time of pandemic they're required to ask for Vaxx cards but they didn't really make a big deal of it. I think if you don't have a Vaxx card you can eat outside. Once seated we ordered 12 Ave Specials (one egg with country potatoes and you choice of 2 sausages or 2 bacon). It came with toast or biscuit. But we asked to substitute the bread with fruit. Many local were enjoy breakfast already when I can in at 8am and everyone seem comfortable and knew what they want from the menu so it tells me that they are returning customers and probably happy with the service and foods.
