Sent a message via YELP, and received an answer for my quote within 30 minutes... @ 8:00pm. Wow! Setup my appointment, which was within 3-days (some HVAC businesses were out 2 months!), and on the day off, the technician/engineer called and let me know his ETA. Jacob arrived, put on the shoe booties (I knew right then and there these guys would get 5 stars), and went to work on inspection. After about 30 minutes, he let me know the damage, and said he could get everything done within the next hour. I haven't had regular maintenance on my HVAC like I should be, so I expected some excess wear on some parts. Jacob set me up with what I needed, and my A/C is back to working optimally. The temperature of my House couldn't reach past 76, and hung at 77. After this tune-up/replacement parts, I'm hitting 70 no problem. Of course my heater failed to work during our first dip in temperature. I called Smart HVAC based on Yelp reviews, and the fact they were local. Jake arrived within 2 hours - called 30 min before arriving, placed covers on his feet and spent about 10 minutes analyzing the issues in my attic. I've had many service people in my years as a homeowner, but Jake was the first person to take photos of the problems with my heater in the attic. With these photos he explained how it could be repaired rather than replaced. He also placed a frame around a thermostat that a previous company had placed which had a smaller footprint than the drywall cutout. As an added bonus, the builder of my home precariously placed one of the smoke detectors at the top of a staircase. I asked Jake if he could replace the battery, which he gladly replaced. Jake was very pleasant, professional and left everything extremely clean. This is a local business, not a franchise or chain.
