We were appointed SmartChoice through our First American Home Warranty. SmartChoice reached out to us right away and made our appointment in a timely manner. Viktor came out to access the issue and quickly discovered the motor needed replacing. Thank goodness our warranty covered it. They said they will order the part and it should arrive in 5-7 days. When the part arrived they scheduled my appointment. They gave me a 30 minute call ahead and arrived on time. Viktor did a wonderful job replacing the motor. Did not use camera to check ducts for collapse or leak. Told my home warranty problem is "duct design" allowing them to close the warranty claim and take my $100. Tech was here for about 5 minutes and said "all townhomes don't have AC on one side". Smartchoice is collaborating with the warranty company to help reduce the claims they need to pay out. They do a great job with fixing all sorts of appliances. Showed up on time and didn't charge an arm and a leg for a repair. Other companies had given higher quotes and some didn't even know how to fix it! The dishwasher was almost hopeless and we were thinking to buy a new one but it was able to be fixed and works well now. Older things are made better in my opinion and are worth fixing; especially when they can be restored to work well. Better for the environment and our pocket book! I wrote a previous review about this company and the owner responded. I was home for the scheduled appointment and i called after the appointment window and i was told they would be there in an hour. since it was past the appointment window I advised Oscar to tell the technician not to come because I had to go to work. second how could vents be covered with carpet as I have hardwood floors and not an ounce of carpet. when your technician did show he was at my home for 5 minutes. paperwork was submitted to the warranty company stating that my system was functioning properly and that I said my complaint was my home was not cool enough. yet your office told me they were waiting for authorization....for what ??? they sent a second company out to look at my AC as my home was hotter than the temperature outside. after a through examination it was noted that my AC motor needed to be replaced. the motor would stop working causing the compressor to overheat. how was that missed by your technician????? read more

We received excellent service. We have a Sears Home Protection Warranty and this is one of the applicance companies they use. We have Viking appliances so it was important to us to have our commercial appliances serviced by someone who knew what they were doing. Initially they serviced the Viking refrigerator. They were on time, kepted us updated on the progress, and polite. Therefore, when we had problems with the Viking electric wall oven, I insisted that Sears send them out for the repair. I got the same repair person and excellent service. read more

Our gas dryer recently began to smell like smoke and then it stopped heating altogether. I called Smartchoice based on their good reviews. They sent a technician that same day. His name was Bogdan and he was very thorough and professional. He quickly removed the drum to show me how years of lint had slipped past the filter and built-up around the gas igniter - it was the smoldering lint that was causing the burning smell and ultimately tripped a fuse that disabled the heating. He then thoroughly cleaned out all the lint and replaced the fuse and our dryer works perfectly again. Thanks for the great service! read more

Quick response from putting in service ticket to Smart choice, calling me and setting up an appointment. Due to undetermined circumstances this appointment and a second appointment had to be rescheduled, technician very knowledgeable and explained the reason or reasons why the dishwasher was not working and what part needed be replaced. We had to check a couple weeks later because we had not heard if the part was ordered or not but after they told us the warranty approved the part the Park came in a week later and the second scheduling that was postponed due to reasons beyond their control. They did show up on time on the next scheduled appointment. The part was put in the technician tested the washer a couple times and suggested a cleaning for the washer itself before regular usage. It was done and now a few weeks after we are happy with the service, and the quality of work along with the knowledge and courteousness of the technician.
