I bought a chicken burger with fries from Smash Bacon for my godson. He rated it a 9.5/10 and really, really enjoyed it! He said the breading and flavor was super good, and the chicken was very tender and juicy. I have to admit, it looked really tasty. The storefront is inside Market on 8th, and is surrounding by a Mexican seafood stall and a taco stall. The staff are friendly, easygoing, and the prices aren't too steep. They also offer bottles of ketchup, mustard, ranch, and BBQ sauce for you to take to your table. Overall, it's a nice experience, and we can at least vouch that the chicken burger is a top-notch sandwich. Probably on par with Crack Shack in Little Italy, but ~$4-$5 less per plate.

Smash Bacon is the latest burger vendor to occupy this stall at the Market on 8th food hall in National City. The previous burger joint couldn't have lasted more than a year. There were some new twists to the menu with bacon being more prominent in nearly each of the six Burger Specialties that came with a side of french fries. I guess that's why Bacon was part of the business name. Chicken was also a part of the menu in the form of a burrito, fries, wings, and tenders. As tempting as The Bone Marrow Double sounded, I selected The Eggcellent Double Burger for my order. A fried egg and bacon topped the double patty with American cheese. The burger was wrapped in waxed paper and served in a lined basket with shoestring french fries that were hot out of the fryer. For a bacon double cheeseburger, the quality and size were decent, maybe slightly above average. There were certainly enough calories to satiate my appetite. I rated my meal at Smash Bacon between three and four stars.

Had a bacon smash that came with fries, the fries could have been cooked a little longer but they and the burger were excellent. I don't live in national city but this place is a good reason to visit so I'll be back. Also their are other businesses including a bar with beer to go with my food

Delicious bone barrow burger and fries.

Have to say the bone barrow burger is delicious. The price point is about on point with what you'd find at most chain burger spots. After tip this ran about $18.

This is located at Market on 8th st. I ordered the buffalo chicken fries and buffalo chicken burrito. I shared it with a friend and it was a good amount of food to share. I really enjoyed the buffalo chicken fries. I got the hot and it was a good amount of spice but not too spicy. The service was great and there is plenty of seating inside.

The Original Smash Bacon Burger $11.99

The Original Smash Bacon Burger is $11.99 and each order comes with fries. The burger patties are crisp with a caramelized crust and a juicy center. The bread was fresh and fries are golden and crispy. They have really good sauces and I specifically like their ranch. This place is located inside Marker on 8th, it can get crowded but there's always seating available both inside and outdoors. Service was friendly and fast. I highly recommend if you are craving a burger.

Our waiter said he would ask if the started prepping for lunch yet to do pizza and luckily they were ready and agreed. My husband and I still ordered brunch. The food was very good! It didn't take very long either. I liked the inside decor. Previously my party was outside so it was nice to look around and see the furnishings and flags up. I will return! Thank you!!

There's so many different salads and appetizers and entrées. It is absolutely exciting. Today I went for a staff happy hour. We are brought three different venues. One was a food menu. One was a cocktail menu and the Third was a happy hour menu. It was a little overwhelming to have to figure out what I wanted. I settled on a Carne Asada quesadilla. It was large and it was quite tasty. I wish I had asked him if they had different salsa because the salsa had no flavor to it. The cocktail menu was very streamlined, but all the cocktails had a house liquor in it, and I didn't want to get up and see what they be had behind the bar so I stuck with soda water Inside there's a long bar and ample seating. Outside, there's also tons of seating and bar seats. Service is fabulous Solid place to happy hour if you live in the area

Tender Hooligan has been in business since 2024 and it's known for its unique blend of high-fidelity vinyl listening, specialty coffee, craft beer, and cocktails. The audiophile cafe and bar is located next door to La Pesca Cevicheria on Third Ave. We had a 45 minute wait time for dinner at La Pesca and ordered a few drinks while we waited for table. Tender Hooligan functions as a community hub with a record store, themed spaces, and events like live music and game nights, offering a cozy, eclectic atmosphere for working, socializing, or enjoying music. The menu features unique drinks like the Ube Espresso and Jeepney Latte, alongside food and a selection of soju cocktails. I ordered a beer michelada. It's such a fun hangout check it out!!

We got everything in it, and added avocado for $1. The peperoncini was free to add on the side. The sandwich was yum, but for $7, it is the best I've ever eaten. Service: 4.5/5 The person who took our order was so kind, offering us water when we didn't order any drinks and making sure we needed nothing else while we ate. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 It's so so cozy in here! I think it turns into a bar after dark, and the place is the right ambiance for both AM and PM. It was decently packed, and there are games to borrow! I would recommend this place for a casual lunch, a coffee run, or a third-space hang out. Amazing, no notes. Final rating: 4.67/5 (rounding up to 5 on Yelp)
