We were exploring Old Koloa Town when we stumbled upon this charming cluster of food trucks nestled in a grassy park off Koloa Rd. and Maluhia Rd. With picnic tables shaded by lush trees, it was the perfect spot to savor some local eats. The heart of our experience? Leona. She's the warmest, most welcoming soul, giving us a genuine Hawaiian greeting that made us feel right at home--even our one-year-old daughter was captivated by her kindness. Leona took such personal care with every part of our meal, checking in to ensure everything was perfect. We've traveled far and wide, and Leona is truly one of a kind! As for the food? Smash Cafe nailed it. I went for the Smash Teri Burger, a true smash burger lover's dream--two thin patties smashed with grilled onions and topped with their signature teriyaki mayo. That teriyaki mayo was a brilliant twist--savory, creamy, and unexpected in the best way! Our little one enjoyed a taste of the Lava Smoothie, with coconut milk adding a lovely island touch. Leona hooked us up. Even the chicken strips were impressive--crispy, juicy, and delicious. We loved dining at the picnic tables under the trees, though the wind added a bit of adventure with tree bits dropping here and there! I moved to Kauai a few months ago and have been on a quest sampling all the incredible food trucks on the island and let me tell you, Smash Cafe is THE BEST. I cannot properly describe how incredible their smash burgers are... like actually the best I've ever had. The Teriyaki burger is my go-to and I legit dream about it. In addition to the top notch food, they also have THE BEST customer service of anywhere I've been on the island, too! I understand it's a local family business, the wife runs the register taking orders and she is so sweet it just about hurts your teeth. I've had to stop myself from asking her if she wants to be friends The location is easy to access, convenient and beautiful amongst the trees, chickens and historic architecture of Koloa town. 10/10 all around, do not miss out on this place whether you're vacationing or a local. read more

Let me first just say the service was incredible by this very handsome young blonde boy. He was super super polite very informative about the menu. Me and my partner got a Terry burger and a normal smash burger and they were excellent. It came with this incredible sauce on the side for the fries, which was impeccable. The burger was juicy crispy so delicious. Probably the best burger I've ever had in my entire life no kidding the ambience was incredible. Very nice. Very nice people. If I could give this place a 7 star rating I would! We were in Kauai for vacation and I came back twice in 3 days. Their burgers are juicy and thick with fresh toppings. The bun was the best burger bun I've ever had and normally the bun doesn't stand out to me. Now for the fries. I am a LOVER of fries and these fries take the cake. Today, for lunch, I had my first Smash Burger experience and it was fantastic. If you're in the mood for a great burger, this is the place to come to. Recently I ate a hamburger at a very fancy restaurant. The price was $28 and without a doubt this Smashburger was so much better for $16.
