I visited this establishment for evening rations and I ended up ordering the Double Smashburger. I had "wooder" to drink. I did not order French Fries because I thought that the French Fries were overpriced especially for small fries. The drink station had a couple of drinks out of order and I was disappointed that Pepsi was not available. The Double Smashburger was done the way I asked and I thought it was better than In N Out but not as good as Red Robin. Men's washroom was clean and paper towels were available... good. My family and I decided to try smash burger in search of something new. Unfortunately I was disappointed! I guess I shouldn't have expected much since I ordered everything except a smash burger. I order the shrimp basket which came to roughly about $16. This was definitely not worth the money spent. To the Owner of the Smashburger - Carson Location, I'm writing to share my experience visiting your store today, and I hope this message reaches you directly, as my concerns are about the management and staffing of this location--not the two employees who were doing everything they could. I originally placed an Uber Eats order, which was suddenly canceled. I called the store, and the employee informed me that the system was down and that Uber Eats orders were not being processed. I asked if I could place an order over the phone instead, and he said yes, but payment would have to be in cash due to the system issues. I told him I would call back shortly, but when I called again--multiple times--no one answered. Because of that, I decided to drive to the location. When I arrived, the store was completely overwhelmed. There was only one person at the register and one cook in the back, even though it was a busy Sunday. There was a long line of customers waiting to order, a group waiting for food that had been sitting out and getting cold, and pickup orders that hadn't been handed out. It was clear the two employees were severely understaffed and doing everything they possibly could. I placed my order and returned after 15 minutes. While my food was ready, both of my shakes were missing. I then had to wait another 15 minutes for those to be made. The crowd continued to grow, and customers were getting frustrated because no one was being helped promptly. Even the cook had to come out to hand out orders. This was my first time visiting this location, and I came because of the great reviews online. Unfortunately, my actual experience was the complete opposite--not because of the employees, but because of the lack of staffing, support, and management. My question is: Where is the owner or manager? How is it acceptable to have only two employees running an entire restaurant on a busy Sunday? These workers should not be left alone to carry the full weight of the store with no support. I truly hope you take this feedback seriously. Funny about some of their five star reviews. Do they seem sus or what?? I wont tip them off, but not hard to tell some might be 'incentivized' to leave those five stars. I was at this place on Saturday 01/31. And the experience was so bad that I'm spending more time today to write a full review, as a community service to other so they can avoid what I suffered. This place is absolutely the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life and I'm a guy who eats at least twice a week. You're much better off going to Chilli's, In and Out, Five Guys, McDonalds or an other restaurant in the same location. I was there on 01/31/2026. Ordered two simple double deluxe burgers from the menu, one with bacon. Got the receipt at 1:12pm But didn't get the burgers until about 1:55pm. What made the ridiculous wait time worst was they served people who order after me before completing my simple order. I literally sat there, watch at least three people order after me, got their food, finished eating and left while i was still there waiting for my burgers. I was courteous when I order with the cashier, I said thank you and everything. I politely ask them about my burgers 30 minutes into waiting but they just nonchalantly told me one more is coming. No urgency what so ever. I know they're fast food worker, its not like a career or anything, who probably don't gave @ #!(K about the job, but come on. My mistake dealing with them is I was too polite initially instead of being more assertive. (I'm always nice to people making my food so they don't temper/mess with it, you know...) To make things worst, I checked the burger and there was NO bacon. They straight up ripped me off. I paid extra for bacon, they took my money, and then didn't put it in the burger. After waiting 45 minutes for two simple burgers, they still screw up my order and didn't give me items I paid for. I was infuriate at this point: they made me wait 45 Minutes for two simple burger. I literally had to watch people who order after me eat, finish their meal and left while i was still there waiting. Plus, they Cheated me on the bacons I paid for. I told the cashier, she said she'll get the bacon, but at this point I was so infuriated I didn't want to wait or be in that stinky restaurant anymore. Seriously, that restaurant smell like inside a restroom. it stinks. Some of the other reviews of this place on google also pointed the same thing out, this place stinks, literally. On top of that the burgers are some of the worst burger I've had and over priced for that type sloppy burgers. I'll let the pictures speak for themself. Taken only 10 minutes after I got them. I did take bites out of one since i was hungry. My visit to this place not only waste an hour of my time for two simple burgers, but the anger and frustration I experienced there ruined the rest of my day. And its costing me time to post this honest review and submitting complaints to their corporate. I eat out all the time, and this place is by far the worst I've been to. My experience and quality of food was so bad that I'm willing to go out my of way to WARN other and help make them aware so they avoid what I've gone thru. I ordered online potato tots and brussel sprouts. When I got out the car with them the bag is soaked at the bottom with olive oil seeping through it. When I pulled the tots out of the bag and box it's dripping olive oil. Come on they didn't drain it as well as had to use that much oil. Smh horrible. I won't go back there. read more

Lots of new burgers and sandos plus they have tater tots which is awesome! The staff here are always very helpful and generous with the extra sauces. Our favorite place to grab a burger and a shake before our movies dates. The new scorching menu offers lots of new protein options and has great flavor while mot being too hot. Being someone who can stand moderate spice at best I really appreciated that. Also a huge fan of their crispy brussel sprout side.And a side note the manager here heard me talking with my wife about wether or not I should order their new shake and I ended up not getting it for whatever reason and she made me one and gave it to me free.. Honestly, this place has a lot of potential. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and resulting from the food to the cleanliness of the restaurant. When I received my food it was cold, and so did the fries it came with. Not to mention I saw the girl that was handling packaging the food was wasting food. I saw she grabbed fries and dropped them on the counter, put what was left in the bag. Half went into the trash. When I saw that I was hoping that wasn't mine and unfortunately it was. I'm generally not a fan of the "Smashburger" meaning the hamburger patty that's smashed, pressed, and is thin because so many restaurants do it to prepare food fast and it ends up being dry, burnt, salty, greasy and way overcooked like a fast food burger. I'm a medium rare moist and juicy burter connoisseur so inherent to my personal tastes any review of a smashburger is biased on my part and not valid for those who like their burgers prepared as a smash burger. With that being said, I didn't order a Smashburger. Maybe I will onetime in the future here. I had a bad experience at Smashburger in Manhattan Village in Manhattan Beach, but it wasn't food related more so than service / management related. This location is great and the staff are wonderful. The other Smashburger in Manhattan Beach should take note of the employees here in Carson that are trained properly and have professional management that's customer centric. This place deserves your business and I'd refer and recommend anyone and everyone craving a Smashburger, even if this is a further destination, to come here to Carson for the pleasant experience. I have been a customer of this burger spot for some years now living nearby. It has recently now gained even more competition with an in&out opening up. Despite the competition SmashBurger is still the best in my opinion, it has a unique taste & savor compared to the rest. Newly once again back on the menu has been an exciting return for me to see. The amazing and uniquely delicious mac n cheese burger!!! Now to be honest I had this burger long before and when it went off the menu I felt the loss heavily. I then gave in and adapted and even somewhat dwindled away from smash a bit. But now seeing this burger gem back has made me return with a cheesy passion of loyalty. The mac is so bomb it makes me think they have a handed down secret grandma recipe for it. Its that dang amazing on those angus beef paddies. Even the mac splattered on the wrappers don't escape me! And don't let me begin on the brownish toasted mac bits oh my goodness, I'm down for that brown best believe me! If your reading this review trust me you will not be dissatisfied, disappointed, or upset at the price or wait for this work of real american love in a bun. Try to limit thyself if your on a body figure trip maybe a once a month indulgence, but do not pass up the double mac n cheese smash burger. Tried the Classic Smashburger with the smash fries and ordered some tater tots as well. The burger was excellent, restaurant was clean and inviting and they even had a nice selection of drinks (I mixed the dragonfruit and lemonade to create a strawberry lemonade) the fries were overcooked and I relayed that to the cashier but the tots were perfect and I think this is better than In N Out burger honestly. Service was very fast and they even have dipping sauces if you ask ( I got ranch) but I loved it. Must try!! read more

Took myself and a friend today. Very clean but disappointed by the fact that the fries are no longer identified as garlic fries. And I think they used to sell onion rings or something other than fries and brussel sprouts The restaurant was clean and not bad for a Sunday. The only other thing I don't like is the menu is hard to read, but then again, I'm not a teenager when it comes to my eyes. While the food was good and the service was prompt, what I could've done without was the guy sharing his $0.02 about what one of the sandwiches will do to a GI system. Yeah, and it was before serving. I tried to steer the conversation, but he kept going about what truffle sauce will do to someone. We held a company holiday luncheon on the 23rd of January. I placed the order on 12/12/25 for 3 assorted build your own burger bar and spent $616.60. The luncheon was to be at 12:30 pm. I called in the morning of that same day to make sure that my order was going to be delivered on time. I was feeding 30 people. When I called, the lady in the phone said that they don't have my order and that I called the wrong store. I asked to speak with the manager and she told me her name was Amanda and that she was the manager. I told her that I was looking at the order and I knew I called the right store. She said she was busy and don't have time and hung up on me. I tried to call back and they wouldn't answer the phone. Then the DoorDash driver called me when the got there and told me they don't have my order. I asked to speak to the manager and someone else answered the phone. She told me to hold on. She comes back and says that they did find the order. I originally called at 11 am. Now it was 12 pm and I was trying to figure out if I needed to go to plan b for our holiday luncheon. The manager never came on the phone. The worker told me that the order would leave the building in 20 min. The order did not arrive at my business until 1:17 pm. I had to stall the luncheon and do something else until the food arrived. I filled out the form online regarding this situation on 12/23/25 and I have never heard from them.
