Black bean burger on a pretzel bun
    Michelle O.

Food is ok. But the floor! The floor appears to have been moped with grease from the kitchen. Very, very slippery and dangerous. They really need to steam clean that floor and get a new mop! The condiment bottles on the table were in need of cleaning as well.

A friend and I decided to try Smashburger because neither of us had ever been there. I was nervous because of the many poor reviews for this location. They had a great special going on - a triple double pub burger (if I'm remembering the name correctly). It was two patties with cheese and fried onions and mustard on a pretzel bun, for $4. I also ordered their Smashfries - fries with olive oil and herb seasoning, and a salted caramel malt. When my friend and I sat down to wait for our order, we noticed a rancid odor. One of my superhero skills is being able to identify the odor of a dead mouse. I've done this repeatedly throughout my life - identifying the odor in various places where I've never been before. The odor was the odor of a dead mouse. When the server brought our malts, I notified her to let the manager know that there was a dead mouse in their air exchange/vent system. She gave me a look that said, "How could you possibly know that?" When the food arrived, it looked good. The burger was good, but small. Their patty size is on the small side. Definitely more bun than burger. It had good flavor. The fries were okay. I wouldn't spend the extra money for the Smashfries. There wasn't that much additional flavor. The malt was a bit on the runny side, but tasted excellent. All in all, Smashburger was okay. However, with all the other hamburger choices, this would probably not be on the top of my list. I don't know that I would return.

We were at Smashburgers in Coon Rapids on Friday November 2, 2018. I ordered a Twin Cities burger no swiss cheese, it came with swiss cheese. I asked the girl where my sauce was for my haystack onions, she said it doesn't come with sauce. The last item was a girl was filling the ice bucket and she was standing on the counter with her greasy dirty shoes. The manager came over and wiped off the chair that she stood on to get up on the counter, but he never wiped the counter where her feet were. It was very gross. I have the Smashburger Rewars on my phone because I used to go there quite a bit. Not now

It was an ok experience. I wouldn't call this fast food, since you'd get your food faster at a dine-in restaurant.

The food was incredible, the space was perfect, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. One of the best features is that you can open the doors to a private outdoor patio area, which gave our guests even more room to gather and enjoy the day. Planning a party can be stressful, but the team at Tipsy Steer made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. We received so many compliments from our guests on the food and venue. Thank you to everyone at Tipsy Steer for helping make such a special day even more memorable!

You sit at a table and order off your phone, and servers will bring your food and drinks out to you. Had no problem with that, it was a fairly easy process. Our servers were kind and I believe we talked to the owner for a bit who was attentive to all the tables! The food is the disappointing piece. I had the chicken rojo avocado tacos and they really lacked flavor. There was plenty of chicken in such a small tortilla, which made the taco fall apart as you ate. My sister ordered the pesto Mac and cheese with chicken and it was okay, but the chicken was not good. I didn't try the tenderloin bowl, but it seemed to have better reviews than my meal or my sisters from my family. I don't make my way out to Blaine often enough to try again, but I think this would be a better spot for pizzas and milkshakes.

It was a Friday night, but we arrived a bit after 5 pm and the place was completely full. However, we didn't wait long for a table because turnover is quick. This is the second time I've eaten at this location and the food and service is consistently good. The 5-8 Club claims they invented the Juicy Lucy, as does Matt's Bar. (For those who don't know, a Juicy Lucy made of two thin hamburger patties stuffed with cheese and then grilled, resulting in liquid lava in the middle of your hamburger.) My wife says that she prefers Matt's Jucy Lucy (note spelling difference) because the burgers are smaller, meaning the cheese to meet ratio makes it more cheesy, where 5-8 uses a larger burger, so it seems as if they use less cheese. I'm not a huge fan of either (I'd rather have a conventional burger), but personally I'd opt for the larger burger with more meat than cheese. Also, I give points to 5-8 for spelling Juicy correctly. The fries that come with the burger were seemed like they were battered, but were hot and tasty. I opted for the Wings and chose the Thai Chili sauce. The wings were great! I have been into wings lately and these were very meaty and were well crisped on the outside, but juicy (or jucy) on the inside. The Thai Chili sauce was sweet and a bit tangy, but certainly not overly spicy. The wings came with celery sticks and a blue cheese dressing that had actual blue cheese in the dressing. Service was friendly and surprisingly good, considering how busy they were. All in all, it was a good experience. There menu is typical bar food, but they do it well.
