Very pleasantly surprised! I saw the reviews, but I've heard that Smashburger in general has great food and I've never been to one. So we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did!! The whole place was spotless, the service was very polite, our food was ready quickly, the food was AMAZING, the manager (who just took over this location to fix the problems) was very nice, and visited with us at our table, the way they used to do in the old days, at every restaurant. I've tried this location several times and my order has been wrong every single time. It's simple enough, regular fries instead of sweet potato fries, no lettuce or tomato on sand which, missing sauces, something always forgotten. Service is slow, to say the least. This time I placed an order on line and selected to pay for it at pickup. I had the order receipt and confirmation. The person working had no idea what I was talking about. Pleasantly surprised after reading the reviews. Food was served relatively fast-15 minutes-,all served at the same time time and hot. Server went over and above with extra fries , just in case the original ones weren't quite as hot as the other food. Overall happy with the service and the food! read more

I purchased two of the triple double burgers and brought them home. They were the messiest burgers I've ever had! The bottom of the bag was wet from the burgers leaking. The burgers were missing most of the triple cheese cause it leaked everywhere. The cheese was liquid.... Trying to eat this burger was a pain as well because the bun was wet and hard to hold. I also watched them put my burgers in a bag and sit there almost 2 minutes while they waited on the fries. The bag was not under the heat lamps either. It tasted okay at least. I have stopped here 3 times in the past 3 months, each time on a Sunday at lunch time. I have gone to the drive thru and been told the wait for a burger is 25-30 minutes. Completely inconsistent. The first time we tried it we absolutely did not get the hype. The burger was sub par and the smash fries were awful! We didn't go back for about 2 years. The next time we decided to try it again it was great! We've probably been back 4 times over the last year and it has gotten progressively worse. Last time the order was wrong (no bacon on the bacon cheeseburger and the triple double only had 1 1/2 patties) and there was no flavor or char on the burger. I was glad when they came up with regular tots, but even those usually just taste like hot salt. I think I only get them so I'm not still hungry after. We only go if we have a bogo, and even then it is way too expensive for what you get. I gave more than 1 star because I have had good food there, but at a rate of 1.5 in 5 it's not worth it. Plus, I asked if they still have the $4 triple double and they said no, just the $5.79 one, but I just saw an ad for it this morning. Apparently not a participating location. read more

This was my first experience at Smash Burger and it will my last experience at Smash Burger. We waited in line at the drivethru for over 20 minutes. No one ever came to the window to tell us that our food was coming. I went in at the 20 minute mark and the employees completely ignored me to the point I had to shout "excuse me!" for them to even acknowledge my presence. They gave a lame excuse of being under staffed. My mom went and demanded a refund of our money. The totals on our two receipts didn't even match; the total on the refund receipt is more than the total we paid but the amount we received back in cash was exactly what we paid which leads me to believe that the manager there today is stealing from the company. I only tried this restaurant on recommendation from my brother but I won't be returning ever again. read more

First time visitors. We enjoyed the menu with different options than most burger places we frequent. Service was slow. They were out of onion rings Dining area was not clean and tables once cleared were never wiped down. Appeared short staffed. Order is wrong every time we visit, always very simple with no customizations. We have also been told they were out of ingredients on several occasions. I always order online and have shown up at or after the promised time and the order hasn't even been made! Seems like management is very lacking/nonexistent here. Upon checking how much time was left for our order (had been waiting 20 minutes) I was told, "Well, the wait time when you placed your order was 20 minutes. Didn't someone tell you that? I stopped in the Coon Rapids, Mn. Smashburger on May 10, 2017. The burger and fries were very good. It was very clean and the service was very good. I slipped and fell hard in the entry way at about 2 p.m. After I got up I went back in to let them know. The young man, Kerry, at the register is to be commended for his concern but the manager never came out to check on the situation. I sent a comment and no one replied so I'm not sure if something went wrong and they didn't get my email or what. I may go there again, but I will be very nervous about the floors. read more

We love the burgers here but had to only give 1 star for this location. This restaurant is very poorly managed. On more than one occasion we have had very long wait times when, in my opinion, they weren't very busy. The tables are always dirty and the floor is always sticky. There always seems to be a few teenage workers standing around with a lost look on their face. If you come to this restaurant you will love the burgers. Just be prepared to wait a while. read more

The veggie frites and spinach goat cheese burger are awesome. Frites unique, much better than fries, but smash fries in truffle oil great too. They are understaffed and run low in things if not out by Sunday. Try to avoid rush hours. Not their fault just understaffed. Not sure why others weren't impressed. It is our 2017 Chipotle. I've come to this location twice now, and it's been the worst service through the drive through! The first time the girl told me it would be a "15 minute wait." I asked for the burgers, or fries or?" She replied "for pretty much anything" and then asked if I wanted to wait, I told her no and left. I would put 0 stars if I could. Slow service. Arrived at 7pm and lobby was empty. Didn't leave with my food until 7:25pm.. I went in the drive-thru, and there was silence for about a minute before the teller asked me to "hold on for a minute" After I placed my order, I pull up to the window, nobody was there to take my money and the teller waved a finger at me gesturing "one minute" Ten minutes later, the teller gives me my drink and takes my payment. For the next 7 minutes I see my food sitting in the window, and nobody bags it. I decide to enter the restaurant to grab my food because I was done waiting, and speak to a manager. He was very rude to me, saying "if I didn't do anything wrong, I don't need to do anything for you." and I leave with my bag of food, which lo and behold, was wrong. I was missing my Smashfries, and also the ranch dressing that comes with the Veggie Frites I ordered. Overall, a terrible experience and I will not be returning to this location again. We waited over 25 minutes for 2 burgers and 2 orders of fries. We were the only ones in the drive through and there were only a couple of cars in the parking lot so I can assume they were not swamped with business. We could clearly see our food sitting under the warmer but no one seemed to know how to put it in a bag and give it to us. Finally a worker came to the window and apologized and said our food is up but an employee just walked out, instead of putting our food in a bag and giving it to us he gave us $2 off coupons.
