FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW. We came here after a local high school game, with 15 minutes before closing & ordered to go. All of the staff gave us dirty looks the entire time from when we ordered to when we left. We had apologized for coming in so late when in actuality we didn't need to apologize because they were still open. If you don't want customers - close the kitchen earlier. But, I was greeted promptly and the place appeared very clean. I ordered a classic burger which was very juicy and I loved the fries!! I wanted to have a shake, but maybe on my next trip in which I'm in the area since I was heading to catch a flight. This location lacks leadership and customer service and has a difficult time correcting two orders. After several attempts 6 visits back to the table, they still brought out the incorrect size, and the item was overcooked. Once they corrected it, they said because of the inconvenience, we upgraded you to a large. We purchased a large in the first place. Complete chaos and unprofessionalism on the floor and in the kitchen. Customers are waiting in the lobby while boys in the kitchen cursing. While they have a good selection of specialty burgers, I particularly enjoy the Colorado Burger. The Smash fries are just what you need to top off the meal. Yes, the food is good, but I also go there because of the good service I get every time I go there. Joe, the GM on day shift, seems to know a lot of the regulars and is very welcoming when he sees me and my crew in for lunch. In the evening hours, Zehra, the night and sometimes day shift lead is awesome and you can tell she loves helping people have a good experience. Okay, I really want to give this a much better rating than I am. For service, I am giving a 5 star. They had great service, very clear, concise, quick. Got our order correct for 4 people. Got our food quickly. The place was clean and neat. The cups for the soda and water were the same exact thing, so they trust that people that didn't order sodas wouldn't get it. So good deal there. My husband had suggested going to In N Out, but I wanted to try another place we hadn't gone to before. Since my first choice was Costa Vida, and they were closed, we decided to go to Smash Burger, as my son wanted to try this place out. So the atmosphere is nice and cozy with both raised tables and regular height tables, as well as tables in a bar like setting. All those things give it a 5 start. However, the food itself was not very good. I ordered the Arizona Burger, which is spicy with the Habanero and jalapenos on the burger. The burger was a bit thin and this is the regular size. I don't think these burgers were grilled as they tasted quite greasy and the burger patty was not too tasty. I ordered fried pickles, as I've wondered for quite some time what this tasted like. I no longer wonder. These came with ranch dressing and the fried pickles were super salty, way saltier than I would even expect for a pickle and very greasy. So for taste, I give this meal a 2 star. My daughter got an Avocado Burger and she said she liked it a lot better than In N Out. For taste, she gives it a 4 star. My son got a Buffalo Blue Cheese Burger and he said it was yummy, but alas, way too greasy. He and my daughter shared the Haystack Onions, which really resembled very greasy version of French's Onions. A huge disappointment. I was hoping for real onion rings. He says it's a 4 star. My husband's burger was a BBQ, Bacon & Cheddar burger and he said it tasted alright, but prefers In N Out. He ordered the Smashfries and they just tasted like regular fries with no hint of garlic at all. Joe's Farm Grill makes the best garlic type fries and the Smashfries resembled nothing with garlic. And the fries were super greasy. It was like drinking grease almost is what my husband said. He is a huge fries lover and left half of his regular order of fries. My husband would give this meal a 2 star. We had 1 Coke and 3 waters. Our bill came to about $34-35 and you can earn points towards $100 to get free food by entering your phone number. That's good. However, it's not because of customer service, because that was excellent, but the food just wasn't good. We ended up eating most of our burgers, but leaving 1/2 the fries, most of the fried pickles, and 1/2 the onion rings. And, I really hate wasting food, but it's just a grease pit. We have been to this location multiple times to see if anything has changed. NOTHING HAS! Every single time we have come here to the queen creek location it has been awful! I ordered a grilled chicken, wheat bun, no chicken Mayo, add avocado , and add jalapeño. Opened it up the tomato's were physically under the bun between the wrapper and the bun.. under the bun. The bottom of my bun was soggy... the tomatoes are suppose to go inside the two buns right? No, jalapeños were on my sandwich. All though i did ask for them. And my poor husband asked for spicy mustard and gets seriously a half a cup of regular mustard poured on his chicken.. it had no tomatoes, no lettuce, no onion, and no avocado although he asked for it. First time at a Smashburger and my husband and I were both disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the AZ Burger and the Classic Burger were juicy but that was the only saving grace on our visit. We waited by the register for a good 2 minutes before anyone came to take our order. This was around 3 pm on Sunday so there was no rush and only 3-4 other people in the restaurant. Once we placed our order of AZ Burger, Onion haystack, Classic Burger, Smash tots and fried pickles, we searched for a place to sit. NOT ONE TABLE was clean. (We went and checked every table in that establishment.) Some were stacked with trays and milk shake glasses. Others were empty but clearly they were not wiped down. We finally just wiped down a table by the register and waited for our order. A couple who was leaving saw our disgust and said "Yeah, it took us a while to find a table and every order coming out of the kitchen is wrong." Great vote of confidence. Like I said, the burgers were the only saving grace. The onion haystack was oversalted, the smashtots were good but they were over doused with olive oil. The fried pickles were borderline inedible. Overly salted, overly greasy and the batter did not evenly cover the entire pickle. As we ate our meal, the cashier did come around to empty the tables, however, she would empty the table, be gone in the back for a long time and come back and wipe one table down. Over the course of our meal, she cleared two tables. When we exited the restaurant, we saw that the outside patio was also filled with uncleared tables! IGNORANT, DISINTERESTED, AND RUDE SERVICE Three people were gathered tightly around one register, laughing and giggling to each other while a line of people waited. "Desiree Rose" was so disinterested in helping people that she actually laid her head on the counter. She did not smile or welcome people. When she had to make a shake for someone she picked up things and dropped them loudly, yanked receipts, and slammed the freezer door as if throwing a temper tantrum to express her desire to not want to perform the task. The cashier (no name tag) lacked basic math skills. My total was $11.73. I gave her a $50 bill plus two $1 bills. She handed the $1 bills back to me and said, "you can keep these. Your total is only...". I told her that I knew what the total was and that using them would require her to give me less change in coins and ones. She looked at me like I was stupid, sighed, and then entered it into the register. She seemed perplexed to discover that I was right and she only had to give me two $20s and 27cents. Visited here today while we were on the area. My wife ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and fries while I ordered a double big burger minus the bun with all the works and an onion flour. We received our meals after about 15 minutes. Both were hot and delicious. The only gripe I had was that I told the server I did not want any buns which I received. I am really surprised at all the negative reviews. I can't say that I noticed anything as was described by some other customers. We had the opposite experience. Friendly service and helpful employee even picking up our plates as soon as we were done. Maybe it was only certain employees, at certain times? Not sure... Hopefully I don't ever experience bad service myself whenever I go back. Went back again a week ago. This time, I had the Cowboy burger. It said it was supposed to be "spicy" on the menu details.
