This review is for service approx. 1 year ago. I have a old Dell laptop that had trouble with booting up. I didn't want to get a new computer since I just use it for the "basics". Brad was very accommodating and professional. He agreed to let me drop off my desktop early in the morning before I went to work so I didn't have to re-arrange my work schedule. I utilized his services because we had purchased a new home PC and needed to migrate everything over from the old desktop to the new one. Now this doesn't seem difficult unless you have ever tried to move an iTunes library with over 5,000 files. Brad was great and always communicated with me on what he was doing. He ran into one issue with our files and made sure to call me before I ended up driving over there to let me know he would need a little more time. He was also helpful in advice on home networking stuff and anti-virus programs. I will definitely be using SMB in the future for any of our home technical needs. The pricing is very reasonable, the service is outstanding, and not having to deal with it myself helps keep my blood pressure down. ;) I would highly recommend for anyone who needs a "helpdesk" for their home needs. read more

My hard drive fried! Ouch. Brad worked on it and worked on it. He got every bit he could, and then gaive me advice on my options beyond that. He did general clean up and maintainance on the older Dell desktop, and when I suggested maybe it was time for a new computer he told me this one still had a few years of life left. I found him to be very hard working, trust worthy, and cost conscious. His prices were very reasonable, and by being an independant, there was no upselling, or pushing of any specific products. All the advice he gave me was around how to keep my costs low while protecting my machine. This team of techies is amazing! My computer had a virus that completely took over my system and deleted all of my files. And like taking a car to the mechanic, i was reluctant to get my computer fixed for the fear of getting f**ked in the wallet. You know how that can be. Convenient hours!!!! I work in Walnut Creek and must be on the road at 7:30am. When i saw that this place was open at 7:00am i was floored. i have a 5 year old dell laptop that still worked fine up until a month ago when i couldn't even get it to boot. i was prepared to get a new one until i looked up pc repairs on yelp. smb stood out above the rest in the fremont area so i gave them a call. they are centrally located in fremont not far from the hub. i dropped off the dell with brad and within a day he called me back to tell me what the problems were and explained to me the pros and cons of repairing the old unit vs. buying a new one. turns out there were some corrupt files from not shutting down the laptop properly over the years. the fan was also crapping out as well. brad got my laptop working again and i didnt lose any files. i'm aware that i really lucked out in not losing any files but more importantly i appreciated brad's honesty and eagerness to explain things in simple terms. if you have any pc or laptop issues that you cannot resolve, don't hesitate to let brad take a look. read more

My laptop had a problem in which the monitor screen would not work; it displayed nothing but a black screen (but the computer worked, as I tested by plugging in an external monitor). Compared to sending the laptop back to the original company for repairs, the price is significantly cheaper.
