I did not have a positive experience with Dr. Lizana and her staff. I went in and got new fillings, a teeth cleaning, and night guard. After my first visit I waited at the dentist chair for a long while and because it was reclined so much, I ended up getting vertigo for about a week. The new filling was not done well - the dentist left a sharp edge that always breaks my floss in half. I went back to get it fixed, she filed it down but didn't fully fix it. I went to another dentist to fix it. I had the dental hygienist talk to me about being anti vaccines the entire time she was cleaning my teeth, which didn't make me feel comfortable. When I was getting fitted for my night guard, I asked the dentist if she could lift the reclined chair a bit because my vertigo was triggered last time. She rolled her eyes and lifted the chair. During the fitting, the dentist asked me to open and close my mouth, and I did it, but apparently not at the speed she wanted me to. She proceeded to grab the bottom of my jaw and pull and push it up and down - I felt I was treated like an animal. I did not go back after that and would not recommend this dentist. read more

It's easy to make an appointment and I've never had to wait upon arrival. They let you choose a Netflix program to watch while they work which is a good distraction. Since my dentist relocated to a different county, I called in for an appointment due to severe pain, they recommend I come in as a walk in and get seen by the doctor. I was there within 20 mins and the service was absolutely great! From the friendly lady in the front, assistants and the doctor. Everyone is very soft spoken and graceful. My father recommend this dental office & I decided to give them a call. I had cracked my molar during vacation which was causing me some discomfort that I didn't even want to eat because of the pain! I called the office & Reuben was able to book me an appointment the following day! The office is very clean which is important to me since I am in the healthcare field as well! I really enjoy the the staff here, they make me feel very welcome. I used to go to the dentist in northeast valley and couldn't stand waiting for hours just for a cleaning. Plus the other place my original dentist left and wasn't satisfied with the other dentist. I found this place. I went in, got called within 10 min and had a quick and efficient cleaning. They even got Netflix to watch while waiting inside! I'm not really good with names, but the male dentist was very patient and no rush i comparison to the other place I used to go. I couldn't be happier with the services provided. They are able to take appointment almost right away. I did not have to wait a month to book. When I walked in, they helped me right away. The dentist answered a text or something with his gloves in the middle of filling my cavity and went right back too it, so that means he doesnt care about keeping the area sterile which is very BAD. He also asked if I wanted to watch Netflix, I said yes and saw him watching it a couple times which made me uncomfortable. This place is very slow. They make too many appointments at once and its takes too long. Most of all they are very poorly run and the receptionist is super sketchy saying one thing and then saying another. They say you "need" things but infact you really don't. They said I had four cavity and then it was one. All in all they seem like they really want to up sell you and get you to do things that aren't covered by your insurance. I will say this the dental dental assistants were nice and the dentist would apologize when he felt he hurt me and that was nice. read more

I received rude service from Norma. She was very short and would not address my concerns. I needed a regular cleaning. They said I needed deep cleaning but med-cal said I didn't. I asked for just regular cleaning that was covered and they flat out said no. I asked nicely if it was not allowed? Norma said "It is not that they can't do it, they won't do it." I felt super disrespected. But I took it in stride and just left. I read a few reviews from Google and Facebook and there are other people who said the same thing. They should not be saying they cover med-cal when they don't. I will be making a formal complaint with med-cal. read more

Dr. Jessica Lizana was amazing! My wife and kids have been coming here for almost a year now. This was my first time having any work done and I must admit this was the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. I went in for a deep cleaning, fillings and a sleep guard for my teeth. The entire thing took about an hour which flew by because each room has its own private tv that can be moved to just about any angel the doctor might need to put you in. The best dentist in SoCal!!!! I had no idea that going to the dentist could actually be an enjoyable experience. I always dreaded going to the dentist. I can not stand shots. Plus the thought of someone grinding or picking at my teeth gives me chills down my spine. When I walked in the door and was greeted by Wendy's warm smile, I knew this place was different. The ENTIRE staff was so professional and friendly. It felt like I had been coming here for years and knew everybody. I didn't know it was possible to get great treatment with such a gentle touch. Seriously, so gentle! They had tons of amenities to make me comfortable while they examined my teeth, like Netflix to watch while I was in the waiting room and in the chair. The whole place was extremely clean. What stood out the most was how they seemed to really care about me and how they worked with me to get the best plan possible for my teeth. I am by no means a rich man and I know my teeth needed work. They worked with me and quoted me an unbelievable price. It was beyond fair. I believe the word I used was "awesome". That ultimately sealed the deal for me. My wife and I both are now loyal customers of Smile Design Studio. I won't even consider another dentist. I have shopped around quite a bit and this is by far the best service and pricing I found. I can't praise them enough. I left with a huge smile on my face, which was new for me. I too decided to come here because of the glowing reviews, so my experience left me underwhelmed and disappointed. The receptionist (younger woman, I won't say her name) seems nice/means well but she kept talking over me on the phone, and each time I called she would regularly say "oh hold on" and then abruptly put me on hold. Just poor mannerisms and professionalism over the phone. When I arrived for my first appointment I was impressed as far as their precautions for Covid, and everything seemed clean/nice. I was set in a room to wait for my x rays to be done, and was waiting quite a long time. The woman who came and did my X Rays was very short and cold, and pretty rough on my mouth with whatever she kept putting in there for me to bite on during the X Rays. She didn't make me feel comfortable at all and it took a long time, barely saying anything to me and hurting my mouth at times. I was then left to wait again for quite awhile, and when the dentist finally came in she did a very quick/basic exam, looked at my x rays, gave me a short shpiel about what she insisted I had to get done, and then said her goodbyes (all in a matter of about 5 minutes from when she walked in the room). I was very specific that the only reason I came in was to get fitted for a night guard for jaw clenching, and they ended up telling me I had to have two other procedures done first, and quoted me $2300 for it. Sure enough, I went to another popular, well reviewed local dentist and they fitted me for a mouth guard no problem, and left the other issues (cavities) for me to address afterward. Mediocre experience, I wouldn't come here again. read more
