I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the office and the professionalism by everyone there. I had scheduled an appointment with Alex Pappas in South Pasadena the day before and came to a rundown building that morning so I decided to cancel the appointment and look elsewhere. I am glad I found this dentist. On top of that the office has a keurig machine which was nice considering I was running on fumes and booked a last-minute appointment that morning and they made time for me within the hour. Parking can be dicey but filling out paperwork is all done on the in office computer instead of on a clipboard which makes things very easy and paperless. I drive 40 minutes just to see Dr. Lizana because she's honest and takes such great care of my teeth. She always explains procedures and answers all my questions. To start the office is very clean. They take the proper safety measures of covid-19. I went in for my cleaning (first time in this office) and they took X-rays. After the X-rays the doctor came in and did an evaluation in which she told me I needed mouth guards, see an orthodontist, I needed a deep cleaning, and I also had cavities. I thought this was weird because I had gone to my usual dentist a year prior and haven't had any cavities in years. I asked if they can at least do my cleaning and the doctor told me "if they had time". They immediately had the front desk person breakdown a summary of everything I needed to get done and it was an arm and a leg. Aside from that they gave me the breakdown of my insurance and because of everything they recommended I'd have to pay about $2000+ for my wisdom teeth removal out of pocket because of everything they would've been billing my insurance. I ENDED UP GOING TO MY ORIGINAL DENTIST AFTER, and they saw my X-Rays and there were NO CAVITIES. This dentist seems to just be wanting to charge the insurance $$. read more

Went here because it's walking distance from my place, they tried telling me I had 4 cavities when I've never had a cavity in my entire life and I use a $300 electric toothbrush 2x sometimes even 3x a day, floss, use mouthwash, AND a tongue scraper. I then asked if I can get IV sedation because I had a gum numbing shot once and it hurt so bad I told myself never again and was showing them that I was visibly panicking and explained my needle phobia. They then said they can prescribe me a Xanax and I never scheduled the appointment. I went back 6 months later for another cleaning and they still said I needed to get those cavities fixed. I decided to go back to my old dentist who I only stopped going to because they're far from me now, to see what they said, and they were literally trying to find what cavities they could possibly be talking about. Nothing. If you look at their other 1 star reviews it's happened to other people as well. Cannot believe they wanted to ruin 4 of my perfectly healthy teeth AND watched me panic just thinking about getting dental work done and kept up with the lie. read more

The staff are such amazing people, such as the front receptionists, where they are on top of their stuff from checking and confirming on the set appointments to being polite, respectful. Doing their job very, very well. And the back room team with Sweeta, where she can keep a patient occupied in a conversation as you wait and make the time go by! Very generous! I'm a new patient however I feel as if I've been coming for years. From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted and treated in the most friendly and professional manner by Wendy, Josefina and the rest of the staff (Customer service is very important to and defined in my view if it's a place I will or will not recommend) I since have had some extensive work done so I've had many appts. in the last 3 months. Reason why I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lizana and her staff I can go on and on why I recommend however I will list my TOP 3 reasons 1. Always on schedule, they work with you and are more than willing to make a late 5-6pm appt for those of us that work late. No WAITING more than 5 or 10 min so deff NO wasted time. 2. ALL the staff is just amazing, always friendly, making you feel welcome and most importantly at ease. ALWAYS explaining the procedures and showing you exactly what they mean. 3. This place is really great to visit when you just don't like going to the dentist. It is hidden a little bit, because they are right next to BevMo. I found out about this place when they were advertising at the Farmer's Market and they take various kinds of insurance and they speak Spanish. They also work with you if you are part of the Affordable Care Act plans. When I decided to pay them a visit, the nurse was very kind to show me the details of what my insurance covers and what I would have to pay out of pocket if it was a more difficult procedure. There was one procedure that my insurance only covered a certain portion, but the doctor gave me a discount because they are still new. If I wanted to do it later on, they would also lock in the price. Either way, with a little discussion and they will work with you and even provide payment plans and discounts. They will find many ways for you to be able to afford the visit. The dentist office itself is super clean. The whole place is so clean I feel like I need to wear slippers inside. Then when you are in any of the rooms to get some work done, they will turn on the TV and play a movie so you can relax during the procedure. If you get really nervous you can bring your own headphones and listen to music, they are very kind and gentle. Even when the doctor injects anesthesia you can't feel the needle, usually I do when she did it I couldn't feel it. After most visits they will also give you some dental goodies. Finally the dentist also keeps up with you after your visit. Not the badgering kind, but they will send an email if there is additional care you need to do at home and to make sure you are okay. They also sent me a refrigerator calendar! If you have any questions they are very helpful. I've had pleasant visits when I've come to this dental office. I would really recommend it here. read more

I been to a few dentists and by far Dr Lizana is the best. I came for a deep cleaning and I needed to remove my tooth, she has some magical hands because I didnt feel a thing through the whole procedure. She is truly amazing and her office is extremely clean and nice. I had the feeling of being at a spa instead of a dental office. Plus they have good payment options.
