Dr. Pfister is an amazing dentist. He's very gentle, respectful, and very knowledgeable on most facets of dentistry. His staff is amazing too, they're always so nice to me and my children. I really feel amongst friends when there. Now to his dentistry: I've amazed at how much this guy knows. He's an expert in ozone therapy and minimally invasive dentistry and preventative which basically means that if you want the best chance to have the least amount of dentistry done, you need to see him. And if you so happen to need dental work, he does it all. Same day crowns, implants, digital X-rays, ozone therapy, air-abrasion (high tech sandblaster) which minimizes or eliminates shots, nice! He seems to have all the high tech stuff I've seen in tv and the Internet. I think he does stuff like sleep apnea too, excellent. My kid loves coming here, he can't wait for his xylitol (non cavity forming!) lollipop after his work is done. How many kids like their dentist?!?! If you need a great dentist you have to call him. Dr. Ra owns 2 dental offices. One in Fontana and this location in Upland. This office is beautiful and super clean. It was also easy to get to and this location is conveniently located close to the 10 freeway. I usually go to the Fontana location but I had to come to come to this location because the pediatric dental specialist, Dr. Berry was scheduled to work in this office for this weekend. Both dental offices and their staff are great and always work around my work schedule and my son's school schedule. I do not mind driving to either the Fontana location or to the Upland office for my son to see Dr. Berry for his dental care. She is super sweet and very patient with children. My son had extensive dental work done and Dr. Berry made sure my son was comfortable the entire time. I am very grateful my son has become familiar with the dentist thanks to the option of dental offices having pediatric dentists available. Came here from a recommendation of a friend for my 4 year old's first dental exam and cleaning. I wanted a place that was good for kids. Dr. Ra and his staff were awesome. You could tell that they have a lot of experience with young kids in the way they made my son feel comfortable. I was totally surprised on how well my son did on the exam, probably because the staff gave him stickers and prizes for his visit. We had X-rays done that revealed small cavities, but Dr. Ra did not push to get them fixed right away, noting the fact that most kids cannot take the procedure and with constant monitoring and flossing, we can possibly wait till he's 8 yrs old. I have been coming to Smile Studio Dentistry for about six months, but I couldn't be happier. Every time I have an appointment, they call me with a courtesy reminder call ahead of time. All reception, hygiene staff, technicians and dentist are very friendly. I usually don't have to wait more than ten minutes to be seen and I have been able to schedule appointments to come right after work. Super easy to get an appointment. I had to have a spur of the moment surgery to have a tooth removed. Dr. Ra & his assistant made me feel SUPER comfortable and they made the procedure as painless as possible. The insurance aspect of it ran smooth (thanks to Laura & Gloria). My insurance wasn't up and running since I was so new to the plan however smile studio still took me in and helped me. I also had a deep cleaning here and the dental hygienist who worked on me was insanely sweet and gental with everything. My experience with Smile Studio was phenomenal! The staff here went above and beyond to ensure my needs were catered to. The front office staff was very friendly, accommodating, and practiced the proper protocols that align with the Covid-19 guidelines. The back office staff was also in alignment with the same guidelines. The dental hygienist was very thorough with explaining the issues she saw as well as addressing my dental concerns. I even received an iodine gum treatment (recommended by Teresa) and I had never heard of this in my decades of going to the dentist! The treatment administered was explained in great detail performed with ease so comfortability was not a concern. Dr. Ra performed work and it was painless. My family and I have been seeing Dr Ra for years now. He and his team are amazing! They are welcoming and professional, including the office staff. Dr Ra takes the time to explain procedures and answer any questions and concerns you may have. Just recently, my oldest son, who was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and has had surgeries since 9/11/01, was given the opportunity to have the best smile ever with Dr Ra's recommendation of vaneers. My husband and I and our 2 children have been going to Dr. Pfister for about 2 years and we could not be happier with the care we have received. What's important to me is that he is on the cutting edge of minimally invasive procedures. I worry about putting my kids asleep and using other drugs, and the long term impact of mercury. We've had a couple tricky issues and he's had a solution for every cavity, crown, etc. that has worked in our best interest. The computer programs he has used to show us our cases have been amazing to me, no other dentist I have been to has had this technology. I love love love Dr. Ra. My kids and I are seen at his Fontana facility but I had to go to the Upland office for a crown procedure. I hate going to the dentist but I have to say that my experience was very pleasant. The staff was amazing and the office is very clean. Dr. Phil Ra is a very kind doctor. Even though his prices could be much higher than average, he does back it up with his latest equipment. Only a few doctors in SoCal use laser and other new technologies. LA, Pasadena, Irvine and Newport Beach for instance, but in inland empire, he's the only one I know. I don't usually write reviews, however this time I had to because I am afraid that Dr. Ra has insulted my intelligence. Anyhow, I go to the dentist twice a year but since my own dentist was out of the country last spring, I went to Smile Studio in Upland for the first time for a general checkup. Staff was very nice and friendly and at first, I had a good impression of their office. After some introductions and taking an x-ray, Dr. Ra looked at the results of my x-ray and told me I have a very bad cavity that would require a root canal and crown and that if I don't get his suggested treatment, it is going to be very bad and painful. I did not go through with the procedures he suggested, listening to my intuition/logic- my Ph.D. emphasis is in advanced GAME THEORY- warned me that something was off. Two weeks seeing Dr. Ra, I went to another dentist and did not tell him anything about what Dr. Ra has told me. He did the full checkup and x-ray and he said I have no cavity. In December 2017, 6 months after seeing the second dentist, I went in for another checkup again but this time with my own dentist. I told him about what Dr. Ra had told me. Although there was not really a need for new x-ray, I insisted because I wanted to be absolutely sure. He did the full x-ray and checked everything, and he said there is no cavity. A few days ago, I received a call from Dr. Ra's office reminding me that I should go to their office for a ​check-up. So after 2 separate appointments I have nothing but good to say for their reviews. I will start off by saying prior to coming here I did not have a dental appointment for close to two years. I went in for a casual cleaning and they cleaned my teeth up very nice. The staff has great communication with each other so if you are ever given to another person to continue the cleaning or xrays or whatever, they have you taken care of. More importantly they communicate well with you to ensure you are comfortable, if you have any pain at anytime it's not an issue to receive numbing gel or anything of the sort. After my cleaning we discovered 2 cavities. The cavities appointment were minor procedures but they gave me some deep nerve pain, after explaining this they quickly gave me more numbing to remove this pain completely. I have a third appointment concerning my wisdom teeth, but rather than dread it, I look forward to it. They completely changed my outlook on dentist appointments! read more

We came over from Dr Kelly's office (amazing, both him and his staff) and were given Dr Kirby. Dr Kirby is great! Super friendly, explains everything clearly. He's great with my kids. Reminds me of Dr Kelly. My issue isn't with Dr Kirby, it's with the off ice staff and front desk girl Jacqueline. 2 separate appointments I filled out the paperwork and said NO to X-rays. She did not relay that message to the hygienist. First visit I didn't find out about them doing the X-raysI until I received the insurance bill in the mail. (I did not go back with my kids.) I called and let Jacqueline know. She referred me to billing. Billing called me back and said well it was covered by insurance so you don't owe anything. I told her the bill wasn't my issue. It's y'all doing a procedure I said NO to. She said she would make sure it doesn't happen again. Anytime they log into my kids account it will be in bold to not do X-rays, Ask parents. Well....we went in again for another 6 month cleaning/checkup and I signed the paper saying NO X-rays. I went back with my kids after they had been back there about 10 minutes. The hygienist was just about to begin doing X-rays. I told her I requested no X-rays. Why are you doing X-rays? She said she wasn't told to not do them. Nothing came up on the screen. The front desk didn't tell her. She was very nice and apologized. Dr Kirby explained to me the importance of X-rays. I understand and would like them to be done yearly or every other year. Not every 6 months. Again, my issue is this office doing a procedure I did not want done and signed a paper saying I did not want it done. When I sign a paper and specifically say NO X-rays, yet they do them and seem to think it's not a big deal, this is unacceptable. Dr Kirby is great. The office staff (except Gwen) is not great. read more
