Since it is under a crown ($$) I was concerned about the tooth and how much it would be. They took an image of the tooth and then another to make sure and he found no reason to be concerned at this time. He suggested I do a fluoride paste for the sensitivity and I was out the door for $35 for the paste. Thank you Family Smiles....I came away smiling. I was so grateful for his caring treatment and his honesty. I was anticipating replacing the crown and would have agreed to do so. This is about my fourth time to be in the office and I come away grateful for their concern and care each time. I really like the Dr and his staff and will be back for my checkup which was already scheduled for the summer.

I took my mom to the Ideal Dental on Midway and Northwest Highway today, and it was one frustrating…read moreexperience after another. The lobby was extremely hot while we waited. They took my mom back for X-rays and told us they would come get me afterward, but they forgot until my mom reminded them. Then we found out their regular X-ray machine wasn't working, so they had to take the X-rays manually while she was sitting in the dental chair. After the dentist examined my mom, she told us my mom could keep her crown and that they would remove the temporary filling and place a permanent composite filling that same day. I specifically asked if they could do it that day, and the dentist said yes. She and her assistant left, and we waited...and waited. Eventually, a technician came in to discuss antibiotics and confirmed they were still going to do the composite filling. She said she would get the dentist. We waited even longer. Then another staff member walked by and told us we were free to leave. I explained that we had been told my mom would be getting her permanent filling that day, so we continued waiting. A short time later, the office manager came in and asked if we wanted to schedule an appointment for Monday because they could not do the filling that day. I explained that the dentist had specifically told us it would be done today. The office manager responded that the dentist doesn't manage the schedule--she does--and that there was no availability. My question was simple: if that was the case, why were we told to wait? What disappointed me the most wasn't that they couldn't fit us in--it was the complete lack of communication and accountability. At no point did the office manager apologize for the confusion, the miscommunication, or for keeping us waiting. Instead, she repeatedly talked over me and simply offered us an appointment for Monday. My mom decided we'd rather go somewhere else, and the response was basically, "You have every right to." Unfortunately, this isn't our first disappointing experience with Ideal Dental. We've received different information from different locations, and I was even sold a dental plan that I haven't been able to use, which has been a waste of money. This experience only reinforced why we choose a private dental practice: clear communication, accountability, and respect for our time. We'll be going back to the dentist we've trusted for years, and I would strongly recommend choosing a private practice over Ideal Dental. Based on everything we experienced, I cannot recommend Ideal Dental, especially the Midway and Northwest Highway location.

Had the swankiest Dental office I'd ever seen. And a very friendly person too! I've seen had all my teeth on top pulled out with a false top. If there was ever any advice I can give to anyone, is to floss after every meal and brush twice a day, especially at night.

He is New Jersey's great loss and our gain, having moved with his wife and two kids just 2 weeks ago. I have a terrible, irrational fear of dentists that's on par with serial killers and vampires. However, I think he single-handedly put my lifelong fear to rest, which is a huge accomplishment! He explained everything thoroughly to where there were no surprises, was extremely patient comforting me and dealing with my fears, and best accomplishment of all - made the process painless. He even personally called a few hours later to make sure I was ok. One of his best quotes was, "Every time a patient signals pain, I feel a part of the pain with them. If you don't, you've gone numb to the human experience and should consider retirement." I came in with a loose front crown causing pain. What should have been a straightforward cleaning and consultation turned into a nearly two-hour waste of time. I was left waiting repeatedly, moved between rooms with little communication, and saw a dentist who never introduced himself, seemed annoyed to be there, promised he would return after my cleaning, and never came back. The most frustrating part of the entire experience was the front desk employee who came in afterward. Despite the fact that I had already spent considerable time discussing my situation with both the hygienist and dentist, she spoke to me as if none of those conversations had happened. She insisted on explaining my own treatment plan back to me, gave me incorrect information about insurance coverage, and immediately began pushing me to schedule new crowns. When I explained that I was simply waiting for the dentist to return as promised so he could assess the tooth that was actually causing me pain, she informed me that wasn't possible because he was now in surgery. I then asked if I could see another dentist. Her response was that he was the only dentist available. That answer was honestly shocking considering there are multiple dentists listed by the practice and I've personally seen several different dentists there over the years. Apparently after wasting nearly two hours of my time, my only option was to come back in a week to see the same dentist who had already failed to return when promised. What made it worse was that after all of this, she immediately asked if I wanted to go ahead and book that appointment. I actually laughed because I thought she was joking. I left, sat in my car, called another dental office, and was seen an hour later. The difference was night and day. Professional staff, clear communication, transparent pricing, and a dentist who actually took the time to sit down and speak with me. I ended up moving forward with treatment there because I trusted them. This office has gone downhill. Patients are treated like inconveniences, communication is poor, and promises made in the exam room don't seem to matter. I won't be returning.

The office did offer to fix my fillings so I went back and they evened them out and the shooting pain was fixed and I was told there was no additional cost. 7 Months later I received an invoice from them for the filling adjustment saying my insurance did not pay for it even though it was presented to me as a complimentary fix on a poorly executed filling done by them in the first place. His entire staff is so friendly and kindly calmed me when I was anxious (I've always had a fear of dental work).
