Pretty sure it's been a Burke staple for a while, but I just recently checked them out because I was craving a sandwich! I ordered pressed pastrami panini with spicy mustard on sour dough and an order of their in house chips. Sandwich had a nice crunch and pastrami was decent. Chips were made fresh to order which a pleasant surprise, not sure if it's like that every time. Service was quick and easy. To be honest, I have no idea how this place stays in business. Every single thing I try here is sub-par. That in-of-itself surprises me because they seemingly have attempted to broaden their menu and introduce a lot of hot ticket items like Bonchon style Korean chicken and such. But let me irritate, every single thing I have ever tried here has somehow found a way to taste sub-par. Honestly it confounds me, I do not even know how that is possible. How the heck do you make bulgogi taste bland? Welp folks, they found a way. The sandwiches taste like something a 10 year old with no prior sandwich making experience would make. The salads are somehow blander than the sum of their parts. Not even dressing was able to redress that shredded cardboard. The Korean inspired aspects of their menu (which is relatively new) seems to be an uninspired copy/paste of other successful ventures in the area. I swear, I feel like whoever designs these dishes and puts their stamp of approval on them somehow has malfunctioning taste buds. EVERYTHING IS SO BLAND ITS CRIMINAL. That's not to say anything I got there was revolting, just extraordinarily bland and sub-par. Again, if you want good sandwiches you need not look far from this establishment. Do you want good breakfast food? Well that too is all around. Good Korean or even Korean/American/Mexican fusion? That too is not far up the way in Fairfax. I placed my order through Yelp. I ordered the AM Sub. No substitutions. I also ordered a side hashbrown patty to accompany the sandwich. The order was completed in a timely manner and was a great temperature when picked up. I had a pleasant and succulent interaction with the cashier to pick up my order. This was a great experience. Stopped in for a hot breakfast. (No judgement disclaimer) Ordered the COMBO which consists of a Belgium waffle, scrambled eggs with cheese, home fries, bacon and toast. This is a really solid sandwich shop. I got the Rooster Club - a massive amount of deliciousness and a Ruben sandwich. Both were excellent. The club was tasty to the last bite (day two). The Ruben was really noteworthy. All too often I have had this sandwich sliced too thick and soggy. This one was thinly sliced and the bread was still crunchy. Putting the cheese down first, then the meat and lastly the sour kraut makes for a much nicer sandwich. We will definitely be back. Well done to the owner and staff. read more

This place you order and find a seat . Quick with getting my food . Came here for breakfast and had Ricks burrito. It was good flavor but needs a sauce or cheese . My husband had the western omelet and he enjoyed it but he puts hot sauce all over everything . We will give this place another try on lunch or dinner but I wasn't impressed with my food today . I'm gonna be honest, this is some of the best food I've had in my life, at least deli wise. I can't really compare this to Michelin star re- oh. Yea. Yea I can. This food was incredible. The wait... was really long, my family and I waited for 20-30 minutes, at a deli, and we were starting to get cranky due to having no food, but oh boy. It was worth the wait. I got the turkey club, and wow. Super good. The lettuce and tomato on it were super fresh, the bacon crunchy, the toast perfectly toasted, and the turkey very flavorful. It was definitely a decent amount of food, as pictured, but I finished in probably 5 minutes. The highlight of this trip however, might be the chicken. My brother got the firecracker chicken, and my mom and grandmother got the orange chicken. They were eaten up very quickly. The sauce on them was absolutely perfect, and makes my mouth water just thinking of it. The chicken was crunchy, and super nice. I assume the wait was so long because they had to kill, pluck, and clean the chickens before they served them? I don't know. Either way, I'm probably going back very soon just for the chicken. I have eaten at Smith and Clarkson's three times. The first time I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was awesome. The piece of chicken was huge and the accompanying fries were great as well. Very pleased with this new find. Lovely owners, scrumptious home-cooking, and a good value. I bought the combo, and couldnt have been more pleased. The owner also gave me a sample of their chicken tenders , which literally melted in my mouth...crispy but not too crunchy skin, and super moist chicken with a tasty sauce on the side.
