New Gourmet Delight is one of the best Asian food trucks ever! We tried their food on an empty stomach yet I was craving more. Since they serve from their truck, their menu changes with the season. Visit them anytime you see them around and enjoy deliciousness. Met the owners who were both delightful.

I'll start this review by saying order at the door not the window. I didn't notice the sign so I stood at the window for a minute wondering why I was being ignored... Reading is fundamental. I got the five spice chicken sandwich and it was deliciously seasoned, with the exception of no option for white meat which is my preference it was good. I'd pay a tad more for white meat ladies!

I was truly amazed with this food truck. It does not look like much on the outside, but the food is perhaps one of the best food trucks I have come across. The owners pay particular attention to their flavors incorporating a variety of culinary delights. Kudos to the cilantro slaw and the toasting of their buns. Their grilled chicken tacos with daikon, picked carrots, cilantro, sriracha Mayo, and English cucumber is easily top 5 tacos I have had from anywhere in the world. Finally, they have seasoned fries which I have not seen with any other food truck. A bonus is they do catering for events so check them out.

I chanced upon New Gourmet Delight's colorful food truck at Fair Ridge Drive a few days ago. I wasn't sure what to expect as they seemed to specialize in sandwiches - which admittedly isn't my favorite type of food as it always makes me think of working lunches with a sandwich in one hand and a pen in the other. I was keen on the Bao Buns but they weren't serving any that day so I picked the 2nd item that caught my eye - the Five Spiced Fried Chicken ($9) with Kewpie Mayo Sriracha spread, slaw, red onions, jalapeños between Brioche buns. I had to have it as I love brioche, fried chicken, jalapeños, slaw and have been obsessed with Kewpie mayo since I was a teenager. Prepped a la minute, I had to wait about 8 minutes for the fried chicken sandwich while other patrons (including a few who came after me) picked up their sandwiches. Was it worth the wait? OMG! Absolutely! Encased within the golden brown and crisp batter, was a juicy slab of chicken that was addictive from the first bite. I also loved the seared edges of the toasted brioche buns, the velvety Kewpie mayo that tempered the mellow heat from the Sriracha, the refreshingly tart and crunchy slaw that helped to cut through the fat and the slight heat from the jalapeños. I intended to eat half a sandwich when I placed the order as I wasn't terribly hungry but I found myself polishing off every morsel including the side of Asian slaw that I'd picked instead of fries. It was so good, I couldn't let the fluffy brioche harden nor tolerate the thought of letting the crispy batter become soggy as the day progressed. I can't wait to get my next fix!

I have tried the food truck when it came to my office. Service was good. Food was tasty. I would get food here again if hungry.

My favorites were definitely the birria tacos and the sope. Price: 3 birria tacos for $12 -- pretty fair pricing for the portion and quality. Atmosphere: Very packed, which is usually a good sign, but still nice and organized. Plenty of seating and the restaurant was decorated really well. Family-friendly atmosphere too. Service: Customer service was great and everyone was friendly and helpful. Overall: Good food, fair prices, lots of options, and a nice environment. Definitely would come back!

We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. I will say the place is very clean and spacious. They're pretty quick with your order as well. The food was lacking flavor for me personally. Overall, I don't think I would go back.

I came here during a visit to Fairfax and decided to see what was happening in here while visiting nearby Barnes & Noble. Nice clean spot with a bar and monitors. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. I ordered the spicy mushroom, taco Bamba (skirt steak), and chicken (Peruvian). My biggest mistake was eating the spicy mushroom first. It was so hot, I could barely eat the other two. For my taste, I didn't enjoy any of the three. They just don't taste like Mexican tacos, and I guess that's the whole point. I guess I should be impressed by the variety of ingredients, but a good taco is a good taco. Sometimes a simple hamburger just beats a steak. Other diners looked happy and content, so I'm sure this place has their following. This is a strip mall with solid parking, retail stores, and other places to eat. I wouldn't call this a destination spot, with exception for the book store, Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, and Capital Grille. The main section of the parking lot was quite full and all the stores along the mall appear to track solid business. I was hoping to sit down and eat at the bar, but it was empty with no good games on TV when I visited, so I ordered takeout, which took about 12 minutes to prepare. I wish this place the best.

They have indoor and some outdoor seating. Service was friendly and fast- probably the best part of the visit. I ordered a tortilla soup and the small steak quesadilla. I did like you could order some "smaller" options. I originally wanted blackened fish tacos but got notice on their website that they were only doing blackened salmon which wasn't what I was craving. You get a number and your food is run out to you. The food came out pretty quickly while I was sitting outside. The small quesadilla came out first- it was a nice size, especially if you were getting other items. The steak had initially decent flavor - it almost reminded me more of barbacoa then steak. However as I had a few more bites, the steak was very greasy and the 2 cheese blend they used was a bit overwelming and fatty. I could only eat 2/4 without feeling a bit sick from the fat content. Also, I was surprised the quesadilla was served with no dips- no pico, no sour cream, no salsa for 9.75$ - feels a bit of a rip off. Now the real star of the unfortunate show- the tortilla soup. It was probably the worst tortilla soup I had. It was very brothy but without flavors- veggies were raw or undercooked and there were barely any tortilla pieces. They added a lot of chicken but the chicken was bizarre- most chicken tortilla soups have finely cut chicken or shredded chicken. It looked like they put in a whole scoop of taco chicken meat- the pieces were chunky, fatty, and barely fit on the spoon. Overall it was off putting, nothing melded together and with almost no flavor, I was left really disappointed. Did I get all the wrong things? Maybe. I may try it again one day but it was truly a huge let down.
