I'll start this review by saying order at the door not the window. I didn't notice the sign so I stood at the window for a minute wondering why I was being ignored... Reading is fundamental. I got the five spice chicken sandwich and it was deliciously seasoned, with the exception of no option for white meat which is my preference it was good. I was truly amazed with this food truck. It does not look like much on the outside, but the food is perhaps one of the best food trucks I have come across. The owners pay particular attention to their flavors incorporating a variety of culinary delights. Kudos to the cilantro slaw and the toasting of their buns. Their grilled chicken tacos with daikon, picked carrots, cilantro, sriracha Mayo, and English cucumber is easily top 5 tacos I have had from anywhere in the world. I chanced upon New Gourmet Delight's colorful food truck at Fair Ridge Drive a few days ago. I wasn't sure what to expect as they seemed to specialize in sandwiches - which admittedly isn't my favorite type of food as it always makes me think of working lunches with a sandwich in one hand and a pen in the other. I was keen on the Bao Buns but they weren't serving any that day so I picked the 2nd item that caught my eye - the Five Spiced Fried Chicken ($9) with Kewpie Mayo Sriracha spread, slaw, red onions, jalapeños between Brioche buns. I had to have it as I love brioche, fried chicken, jalapeños, slaw and have been obsessed with Kewpie mayo since I was a teenager. Prepped a la minute, I had to wait about 8 minutes for the fried chicken sandwich while other patrons (including a few who came after me) picked up their sandwiches. Was it worth the wait? OMG! Absolutely! Encased within the golden brown and crisp batter, was a juicy slab of chicken that was addictive from the first bite. I also loved the seared edges of the toasted brioche buns, the velvety Kewpie mayo that tempered the mellow heat from the Sriracha, the refreshingly tart and crunchy slaw that helped to cut through the fat and the slight heat from the jalapeños. I intended to eat half a sandwich when I placed the order as I wasn't terribly hungry but I found myself polishing off every morsel including the side of Asian slaw that I'd picked instead of fries. It was so good, I couldn't let the fluffy brioche harden nor tolerate the thought of letting the crispy batter become soggy as the day progressed. I can't wait to get my next fix! read more

I can't review the food itself but there are some improvements they need on the operational side of things. They hosted a promo event with my apartment building and the app they chose either didn't correctly record the orders coming through or they couldn't produce enough despite most people ordering ahead of time. Either way the app was functional enough to charge patrons but they couldn't deliver food. In addition to a lot of the folks just not getting their order in the future I hope they are more thoughtful w how they set up events like this in terms of social distancing They placed all orders on a table directly in front of their truck and had everyone gather closely to order/ try to find out what happened to their order. Hope they can make some of these improvements in the future read more

I tried the tofu tacos. The food was good but for 15.62 and only two tacos/ cole slaw and a few shrimp chips was too much. Only giving 3 stars because the tacos were good that is it. I wouldn't buy again for the price. Not worth it. read more

We had this truck come to our neighborhood and the food was delicious and fresh! It is one of the best food trucks we have had come to our neighborhood in the past 2 years. We ordered the fried chicken bao bun, five spice fried chicken sandwich, Korean beef tacos and PLT. Even my kids loved it! My 7 yr old ate all 3 Korean beef tacos on her own and didn't even share! We have food trucks come to our office every Thursday. This is the first one that deserves a review. Absolutely the best food I have had in a food truck this year/summer. I had the Banh Mi Tacos. 3 Tacos with fries. Price was very reasonable. Tacos had everything you would expect to make them Banh Mi. I loved them. Because I try to hold some calories, I gave one of the tacos to a co-worker who also said it was an amazing taco. The fries were crispy and flavorful. Other co-workers had the Paninis and Pork Belly Bao Buns. Again, rave reviews. The Pork Belly Bao buns were a hit. Truthfully, I missed it on the menu or I would have ordered this instead. I almost gave up on Food trucks in my office building. This one changed my mind. Absolutely delicious :) Got the brisket bulgogi panini with cilantro slaw and the bahn mi panini with salad. Both were super flavorful and a must try. I placed at order to be ready at a specific time. I paid when I scheduled the order through their website. I arrived on time and they were baked up. Understandable. I waited for 1 hour. In that time, the pickups were from people who scheduled at completely different times. A 4:30 or then a 5:30 order then 4:45. There was no real line. After an hour waiting they told us we need to redorder. Over 20 people got in line to reorder. And the line just didn't move at all for over 10 minutes. To just retake the order we already paid for. This food truck was at my job today and the menu looked pretty good and so my coworkers and I both decided to go. My one coworker walked up to the window and placed her order, and I thought it would be helpful to tell her that I was ordering the exact same thing, which was a five spice chicken sandwich and Thai iced tea, so that they could prepare both at the same time. Before three words came out of my mouth, she loudly asked me to wait my turn. She said "please" but it was so abrupt and unnecessary. She was clearly frazzled and trying to stay organized at the expense of common sense or customer service. I don't work in DC so the long was not long at all - there were maybe 6 people waiting for food at that time. I waited for her to hand out a few orders, then she finally took my order. Then when she took my second coworker's order, she offered her free food. Ok? Anyway, this still would have knocked off only one star if the food was actually good. The bread and condiments on the sandwich are ok, but the chicken itself was awful. I expected a chicken breast but it was a weirdly textured chicken thigh. There should at least be the option to pay a few dollars on top of the already $9 price to get white meat. I would have, because I ended up eating only a few bites of the sandwich. The fries were ok, nothing special, like Ore Ida frozen seasoned fries. The Thai iced tea was made with incorrect ratios of tea and cream. Needed way more cream. Another coworker of mine got the Cuban sandwich and enjoyed it. As for my experience, I see lots of room for improvement. read more

I ordered the Cuban Twist panini. Seriously delicious! it was made even more delightful because it was grilled perfectly and the ingredients didn't fall out when I bit into it. The fries were also nice and seasoned. This is definitely the place to get a great sandwich. read more
