Smog Check Plus #2 is conveniently located in the Chevron station that is on the corner of Bascom and Camden. It's only a couple blocks up from 17 (85 and 280 are a quick drive once on 17), so it's an easy location to get to off of the freeway. When you go there you don't need to go into the Chevron store. You can walk up to the garage and someone will greet you there. They have a small area with seats too if you choose to sit but the process is quick, so you can easily stand outside and wait if you want. It's a first come, first serve walk-in type of location. And it moves quickly. It is also a Star Certified shop, so if the DMV is requiring that you get a more rigorous, certified test completed on your car this place will work. The guys working there are super friendly and the service is fast. And the shop is clean. I originally sent out a request via Yelp! to get pricing and they responded in less that 5 minutes. Going through Yelp! is also a good way to go because they offer you a discount when you reach out to them via the Yelp! app/website. When they finish they said the results would be accessible by the DMV within a couple of hours. There were two people in front of me but despite that I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I was lucky when I got there; they weren't working on someone's car already, because a few other people came up after they started on mine! The helpful employee told me it would be about 15 minutes, but it seemed like even less. Very friendly and easy-going. They have a little waiting area with chairs to sit while they are checking your car. If you mention that you saw their ad on Yelp, you will get a huge discount. I am so lucky I found this place online since I needed to pay my registration at AAA and I swear it was due at the end of the month not the middle! Oops! Lol lucky for me this place only had two people in line ahead of me on a Wednesday morning around 11 AM. It took me about 20 minutes for them to smog check my car and once I mentioned the coupon for my SUV, I got the smog check at a discounted rate!! I think it was around $45 with tax, but make sure to mention the coupon you saw online! Compact cars were a cheaper price!! I will also say I was a bit confused at the address because I only saw the Chevron gas station and thought this mechanic shop was attached to the Chevron and I somehow missed the smog check station. Came here for a smog check. These guys were fast and super easy finding the place because it's located on a corner street! They explained that since I was already late on getting the smog (already paid DMV) that I would most likely get my tags within 30 days. If not I would need to take the certificate to DMV myself. I was already aware of that but I certainly appreciate the reminder. The charge was 37.95 plus the certificate charge. Now that's what I call a deal. Needed to get a smog check done for my car. The one thats close to my house had a long line, so I was called this one and they said they had zero wait time at that moment. When I got there, the process was quick and straight forward. I turned in my keys and smog check papers from the dmv and waited inside. I hadn't eaten lunch, so I was able to walk over to the taco/burrito truck (La Burrita) parked in the same lot to eat lunch while waiting. It took under 20 minutes and I was able to go on my way very soon. He was about to charge me $60 until I mentioned the $39 ad and he adjusted the price. Much cheaper than a lot of smog places! No need to book - just show-up.....I was a little worried about how long I would have to wait but I pulled up and was greeted immediately and checked in. Got the dreaded DMV renewal with the *Smog required* on it and found out about this place because my sister got a mailer from them promoting their $39.75 (plus fees) smog test which is A LOT lower than what I had been paying the last 2 times I had to get my car smogged for my renewal. They also have this coupon on their website and via Yelp. I arrived around 9:15 on Saturday morning (they open at 9) and there were already people waiting. This I was a one man operation at the time of my visit but the tech is SUPER efficient. From the time he pulled my car into the bay and completed the test it was about 10 mins. He was really nice and explained everything as far as the test and how quick the DMV would get the results. Definitely making this place my new go to for smog testing. read more

Smog Check Plus #2 is a good place to get a smog check done. I requested a quote online and received a response quickly. I was able to arrive about a half hour later and was only second in line. I was in and out of there relatively quickly. The only reason I don't plan on returning is because of the suggested tip screen at the end of the transaction. I've gotten a smog check dozens of times, they all seem the same, I wasn't sure why a tip screen was put in front of me. I didn't get a glass of water, wasn't offered free wi-fi, wasn't seated in a nice comfy waiting room with a TV, no snacks, so why would I pay more for the same service? Other than that though, their service was good. read more

Came by for a smog check the other day and it was a quick and interesting experience. Smog Check Plus had a promo via Google for $29.75 + $10 for STAR + $8.25 transmission - $2 AAA with credit cards accepted. Smog Check Plus #2 is located at the Chevron gas station, attached to the convenience store. There are 3 bays where one appears to be for a waiting foom while a second one appears to be for regular smog testing and a 3rd bay appears to be for a dyno-based smog testing. The technician had a special/different demeanor, such as suggesting that another vehicle that just parked may also be interested in a smog check or a self drive-up to the bay with limited guidance when pulling in... The estimate process was relatively and and the inspection process was thorough, although I'm not quite sure why there was a need for 21 questions, especially at a test only venue. The technician did wear a mask and was able to get out within 15 minutes after arrival. $46 STAR Smog check with AAA discount using a credit card. read more
