I took my car here a week or so ago to get it smog tested and didn't pass due to my car being stationary for so long. The owner told me to just drive for 200 or so miles and bring it back and he'll take care of me. Me being the non-thinker I am, I brought it to him on the day before thanksgiving. I felt so bad because he had told me that he was going to stop after the car that was right before mine but he said he would stay a little longer to get mine done. Sure enough, as he's about to start mine another customer pulls up and he offers to stay for them as well! He looked at me and laughs as he says "I don't know how to say no." I've been going here for years and always had good, quick service. I pulled in, saw no additional cars waiting beyond the two in the bays, and was told to wait. One car left and another that had just pulled up pulled into the bay. I checked to see if they had forgotten me and was told there were a few ahead of me who had left and were coming back. I told the owner I simply hadn't been told there was a line. He proceeded to condescendingly explain to me how lines work. Sorry--but I came in to get my car smogged, not for a lecture. I needed a smog for a car that was purchased out of state. I called on Sunday at 10:30am and they said the shop is only open till 11am but if I head over they would accommodate me. On arrival they went to work on the car and getting my invoice and provided a discount for the service fee. If I need a smog again this is the place to go! Avoid, like the plague. Mom and Pop operation, mom is a super nice, Dad is an A-hole. Dad is always treating mom and customers poorly as if she and they were second class citizens. Every time I have been there he has been the same way, argumentative, and a verbal abuser. It may be the custom from where he came from, but certainly not to American standards. Today was the last straw, he said I could not leave my car in the parking spot to wait, and told me to leave and come back in a 1/2 hour. Yet when I left, another car pulled directly in to the spot I was in. There were only 3 other people waiting at the time. Do not take your business to a-holes like this. Go there first and they will put you in line and tell you when you can come back instead of waiting. Once started, the whole process only takes 15 mins. There's a little space with table and sofa with magazines when you're waiting. You can always walk next door to the gas station to eat at their cafe if you want. A small local husband/wife shop. I was lucky that the last customer just left when I arrived, so I did not have to wait. They started to work on my car right away, and I was in and out in about 20 minutes. This place deserves 0 stars. This establishment is a rip off and the owners are completely rude. My boyfriend and I tried using a coupon that reduced the price of the smog check to $29.99. Since we were smogging a BMW, the owner's wife insisted that there was a $5 extra fee. When we inquired as to why, she stated "You paid extra for your BMW right? The $5 extra fee is because you have a BMW." I continued to ask the both the owners for an explanation as to the extra charge... was there an extra procedure that needed to be done, are there more cylinders, etc. The male owner stated that he did not want to argue with me and stated that this is the price that he charges. At this point, we realized the owners were grade 'A' douchebags and took our smog slip and left. We ended up going to the Smog Guys in the Target Center (26996 La Paz Rd.) Went to this location at 8 AM on Saturday, when they were supposed to be open. Waited until almost 8:30, along with 2 other vehicles, and nobody ever showed up. Tried phoning the listed #, and was hung up on multiple times, after asking whether they would be open today. I needed a smog check, as my registration just expired 2 days ago. Very disappointed. Quick and friendly service. This mom and pop shop has been the best place I have ever taken to get my smog test done . I purchased a used vehicle and needed to get a smog. They looked at my car and told me the visuals witch is part of the smog test where ok free of charge. There was one other customer ahead of me but only had to wait about 8 min for her to be done. The waiting room is in plain sight of the testing area and allowed my dog to wait with me to. My test only took about 15 min and after certification and taxes it was about $38 dollars. Talked with the owner over the phone, he told use what the price would be and where to get a coupon We printed the coupon from the website and within ~20minutes our smog check was done, the persons running the shop were extremely courteous, a friendly, and grateful, not only that the price was a steal. This is the only place I will take my cars for a smog check. When I enter the shop I feel like I am entering the home of a close friend. The owners Bill and Liena are extremely welcoming. They always remember me and ask me about my family. The waiting area is very comfortable. They go out of their way to welcome everyone and make the feel comfortable. They continue to communicate with the customers waiting regarding their car and when they will be next. If I ever have a retail business , I would send my employees to Smog Express and watch Bill and Liena serve their customers. I probably pass 4 smog check places to get to Smog Express. On a side note, I recently learned that Bill was under going some medical procedures while never missing a day. Even though he was not feeling well he forced himself to run his business because his family depends on it.
