I was here at the Smog Express at about 9AM on Saturday 6/2/2018. My fiance needed her car to get smogged, and I was given a coupon for this place. After driving in a woman approached me and asked if I was going to get a smog, I said yes, and she directed me to a parking spot while the two other cars ahead of me were getting attention. I parked, and noticed the husband and wife bickering a little bit as I sat down in the couch/table area inside. I picked up a magazine and started to flip through it. Another car pulled up (a white suv) and the wife did the same routine as before, except the husband was getting more agitated. This level of agitation continued, as they switched between English and their home language. However, I can tell when someone is being verbally abused, the body language is the same. The husband was keeping his rage from being outwardly visible, but I could tell the wife just kept shrinking and trying to do her best working there. The part that motivated me to act was when a call came in and the wife answered it, there was an escalation of tone and anger. He threw a towel at her while she was answering the phone. I could tell that if they were not in public he would have hit her. Honestly it kind made me tear up a little bit, because I also could empathize with that anguish. I took my paperwork, walked to the car, started it and drove off. I had seen enough, so I voted with my wallet. I said nothing to them, I was a bit disgusted. I can understand home struggles, and the challenges of running a business with your significant other. However, do the right thing, get help. Don't let the stress evolve into this kind of relationship and abuse. The husband was publicly shaming her for whatever she wasnt doing right. Well guess what. In my opinion what you were doing to your wife was not right. Someone had to say it, so if there was an incident at least there were outwardly public warning signs. read more

Husband and Wife came in together and this is by far the best Smog Check experience I have ever had, moreover is that I was felt comfortable and like at home right away and the entire process was finished in 20 min. Not friendly and did not care about my time. I called ahead to ask about the wait time and they said 'now was a good time' and then abruptly hung up the phone on me. I decided to go anyways based on what they said, the reviews on here, and I was already close by. I showed up less than 5 minutes after calling and the man just told me to leave my car and come back in 50 minutes. As I was deciding what to do, the man just yelled at me several times from a distance to just leave my car or to let him know what I wanted to do. Annoying enough that they misled me about the wait, but they were also not friendly at all during any of my interaction with them. I left. read more

Bill and Lina have done it again! Great service, 2 years from my last smog check. They were just as efficient and welcoming as I remembered. Being a Friday at noon, and as a great business should, they had other customers being serviced. Despite the busy time window, Lina took the time to call me at home to let me know it would be a good time to have my smog check taken care of. (I had attempted to come in earlier but I wasn't able to get smogged then.) Imagine courtesy like that in this day and age! My wait wasn't long, and I was seated comfortably. In this world of computers and smartphones, I actually took the time to unplug for a moment. What a concept! Lina kindly waived a fee for me not bringing my DMV paperwork (lost it :/), and she also provided me a coupon. She pretty much set me at ease for this whole smog check process that none of us are happy about doing. Bottom line, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for my smog check. Call before you come! I realized late Saturday night that I needed to get my car smog tested. Whoops! Looked on yelp and found these guys- close by and open Sunday at 9 AM. Awesome! Double checked on Smog Express' website, yup open on Sundays. Cruised over the next day at 9 and no one was there. Called and no one answered. Waited until 9:15, gave up and went elsewhere. The other place worked out just fine, but I was annoyed that I wasted my time here instead of going somewhere actually open! read more

This review is long overdue and I do not understand the good reviews. The owner is not of sound mind.. he was erratic yelling at my mother and I because we upset him asking why our smog checks were taking so long. I have told all my family and friends about his shop that used to go here and no one goes here anymore because of this horrible experience. He told my mother that she is unhappy with her job and life --completely out of the blue --simply because she was asking him questions. I'm not joking it was so weird. Horrible customer service. Hands down the best experience I could have asked for. The owners are incredibly helpful, polite, and efficient. I had a couple of questions before coming in and they were more than happy to help. The location is also convenient, within walking distance of a convenience store, and has quite a few, comfortable couches. A coupon was easy to find online and the grand total was quite cheap -- be sure to bring cash and save them the credit card fee!
