We keep coming back because ...it is super easy to make an appointment online (with an appointment the work is done accurately and quickly within 20 minutes); the technicians are down to earth; the waiting room is clean and comfortable (they have AC and free wifi); and the quality of work is great. It cost ~$81 before applying a $20 coupon. I paid $61. The coupon is on their website and like it or not you need to print it out to redeem it. Print as in real paper and ink. Once you become a customer, they will snail mail you coupons which currently are $20 off. read more

They always have coupons available so check for those! $68 after using a coupon for a smog on a 2006 Jeep TJ. No more than a 15 minute wait for us this recent trip. Wow... this is one hella smog check business! Like any good Elite Yelper would do, I did my homework and read the reviews when I was deciding where to take my vehicle for smog certification. It was a no-brainer, as they say. SMOG KING definitely lives up to its name. Steven was professional, courteous, and fast. How efficient is this business to enable online appointment scheduling. Easy, professional website, too. Even received an appointment reminder text! I certainly liked that. Made an appointment last night at home, and here I sit in the air-conditioned office with complimentary wifi writing my 5-star Yelp review. By the way, I highly recommend making an appointment. Four separate people came in with no appointment. Which means they will be waiting. A very welcoming, clean office it is. I would go as far as saying a very pleasant, well decorated one, too. Furniture matches. Something you do not encounter often (or ever) in this type of business. Keurig coffee machine also. Wow! I kind of wish it was not 101 degrees or was early in the morning, so I wanted a cup...lol. But there is a large water cooler too. Nice! Magazines and even live plants. Two really big windows bring in a lot of light and make it interesting because you can look outside! So, back to that smog certificate. She passed with flying colors! Yay... I don't think anyone likes having to smog check their vehicle, but at least this place makes it simple, easy and quick. I have taken both our cars in twice and left feeling happy and satisfied every time. Each time I went, I did so without an appointment and it took no longer than about 20-30 minutes to get it done. I have been told that their price may be higher than other smog check locations, but given my repeat positive experiences, I really don't care. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Be sure you bring your registration letter you get in the mail to make the process go as smoothly as possible. read more

I came in to smog my Lexus and had some of the best customer service I've ever had. The wait wasn't too long, and the seating was comfy. It's a small place tucked away in the back of the parking lot, backed up to a green belt. It's a dead zone if you have T-mobile, so bring something to read. Great service, I will be back. They have coupons for extra value, print it out before you go for affordable price. They have a tipping option, which I thought was strange, but it seems to be keeping up the morale of the employees because they enthusiastically provide service. We live in the South Bay but were up in the Folsom area to visit friends and decided to get our Toyota Highlander smog checked at Smog King. Steven was super courteous, gave us an appointment and honored the appointment with no waiting when we showed up. The nice gentleman that was there greeted me outside and you can see him running back and forth moving cars in and out. He was so fast and efficient and I was pleasantly surprised. My husband actually went to the one where the purple place used to be. He was very pleased with the customer service there. I didn't realize this until I showed up to AAA on the last day to pay my registration, they still weren't open yet so I paid online and it said it was incomplete because I needed a smog check; I went on Smog kings site and made an appointment same day. When I arrived, I didn't realize I booked it for the wrong location, ha! But the employee was super sweet and said he would squeeze me in, I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Fastest turn around I've ever had for a smog check (your mileage may vary, but it speaks to how well they know their work, to me). And a special shout out to Nico. I love cars and always have a lot of nerdy questions but he patiently answered them all in terrifically clear, plain language. I could tell he really loved his job.
