From the first moment we drove up, he greeted us with a smile, drove our jeep directly into the bay and once inside he gave us a detailed description of the process . Absolutely all about customer service .... From the moment I walked in it was a family and not business feeling. The owner was there and greeted me like a friend who he hadn't seen for a long time. Excellent small talk and then demystified all the smog numbers on my chart. The tech was quick and efficient in working with my non-OBD vehicle ... she was awesome as well in explaining what she did and recommendations; extremely professional. She seemed to have more insight than other stations I have taken my car to before. And not only was the tech area clean and no clutter, the restroom was nice and clean and not like a public bathroom ... and the coffee was excellent as well. I had an extremely disappointing experience at Smog King. I walk in the lady says I have to have an appointment. She starts scheduling me for the next day I ask how much $108 not including taxes. OUTRAGEOUS! I get inflation and such but I never paid over $60. She says she just works there.. People come in the area and over charge because of the area! We are being taken advantage of! I needed to pass smog, but had an oxygen sensor issue. It was fixed last week. On the way to smog my car yest, my dash lights came back on! I had 2 codes show up, we cleared them, drove 100 miles and prayed. This morn, all of the codes were green, so I drove straight to Smog King knowing my dash lights could come back on at any moment. I have always had a great experience with this Smog King. Tonight was the cherry on the cake! I called the owner today (Sunday) at 3:55. They close at 4! Told him I have a truck coming by in a couple hours to take my daughter's car to South Carolina. I had just realized the registration was expired....and didn't know if the car needed to be smogged. I called Smog King and told them my situation and the owner was able to look up the license plate number and determine that the car required a smog test. He said bring it down and they will smog the car after hours!! Told him I'll be down in 8 minutes! This is great customer service!!! The wonderfully over regulated State of California required me to drive 55 MPH on the freeway for 20 miles (almost getting killed by doing so) just so my car could gather the appropriate data for them to test it. I had a $20 off coupon and the gentleman told me that with the coupon, my price would be $68 out the door. I almost dropped to the floor.
