Forgot I needed a smog and it was almost 5pm on Saturday and I was going out of town on Monday. I went to get my car washed and didn't realize this place was right next store. My car failed due to a new law put in place this year. Not their fault but they also failed me for a second reason that I had just spent 500 dollars on to fix - not communicating with OBD. Took the car back to the Mechanic and were able to hook up and communicate no problem, tried 4 different readers too. The woman at the counter was nice enough. read more

Quick service. Came in during lunch for smog. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. She said that they were going to lunch and then asked when I needed to be back to work. I told her 1:30. She asked the tech to do my smog and then go to lunch. I was in and out in maybe 15 mins. Great customer service. Will be back again in 2 years. read more

Great customer service! Quick and easy:)

I took my 2007 Honda Ridgeline into this facility on June 5th. The truck had been tested and passed several times over the years at other smog test shops. The vehicle has an approved K&N cold air intake that was installed in 2007. Smog N Go tested my vehicle and it passed but for a sticker from K&N. Now the fun starts. The first individual says, "that will be $59.75 but you need to call K&N, get a E.O. #. Once you have that come back, show us the number then pay us another $8 and we will give you a certificate". So I call K&N and they give me the product specific number. To further my effort, I downloaded a photo of the sticker off the internet and write in the specific product number that applies to my air intake. I apply that downloaded photo to my air intake pipe. I take my Honda back to Smog N Go and the garage crew laughs at me and they now tell me that I must have a duplicate original tag from K&N. I put my ego aside and state that the information is exactly as given to me by K&N and the new tag will give them no additional information. Remember, my trucked passed the smog test (but for the sticker). No luck in convincing them of my position so I am sent packing. I call K&N and get the duplicate decal with the identical information that I provided Smog N Go from the internet. Today, I go back to Smog N Go with decal mounted under the hood and they treat me as if I was never there although it was just three days prior. I start over with a new person and they finally find me in the computer and tell me that I need a re-test and need to wait. I informed her that I was told to get the E.O. number. come back in, pay $8 and they would issue a certificate. She looked at me as if I was an idiot. "I do not know who told you that but everything needs to be re-tested". So basically, "get in line". Then to add insult to injury she comes out later and tells me their machines are down and I will need to come back when they are working. Yes, I made the mistake of asking, "When I come back do I get a priority position in line?" You would have thought I was robbing the place, "if you come back, you get in line just like everyone else". I said, "but it is your your machines that went down, that is not my fault". "It does not mater", was her reply. So, a total of 8 hours of my time and a complete bad taste in my mouth I am now off to the DMV for a Customer Service Friendly experience. Very fast! I think I was there for about 15 minutes. Waiting room could use some TLC but I was not there long enough to care. As far as staff, the man behind the counter was friendly. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Guy failed my car for supposedly having a cold air intake. I assured him my intake was stock. When I asked him to show me what he was talking about he pointed to a BMW factory charge pipe. Apparently you don't even have to know basic car parts to get a job here. read more

I went during the late afternoon with about 4 cars ahead of me, and was still in and out in 30 minutes. I needed my car DMV certified, and the front desk was very knowledgable about what was needed, and the correct documentation. I took my car to this shop because it was near to work and had good reviews on yelp. While I waited for my car I got the opportunity to overhear two of the employees in the office bad mouthing and complaining about their previous two customers who seemed to want information on how/why they failed, and Yelp reviews. I knew I was in trouble when I overheard one of them make justifications by calling themselves the "smog police." Yuh yoh... The smog itself was quick, and my car failed visual for something that I had no issues passing with in previous years going back to 2000. Anal is the word with these guys. There are smog shops that will do you the courtesy of notifying you before they waste your time that they will have to fail you for something on visual, and then there are the ones that want to fail you and make you come back...like these guys. If you know 100% you're not going to have any issues with your car smogging, and can stand somewhat annoying banter while waiting from the employee's, by all means take your vehicle here. If you have even an inkling that it will fail for even the smallest thing possible that 99% of other smog shops would not care about, or would need advice in how to get it to pass if it does fail, take your vehicle somewhere else where they are a little bit more friendly to your average Joe who is just trying to do what the state mandates them to do with their vehicle. read more

This place is attached to Quik Quack Car wash and they COULD encourage new customers to use their SMOG services, but instead they treat the Quik Quack customers like dirt. No thank you, there are plenty of other smog places available. read more

I used to love this place, get all my cars smoged here and never an issue. I live right around the corner so super convenient. Today leaving my house I get down the road and one of my rear tires has a flat, I pull into smog n go, surely they got air by the vacuums. But I don't see it, I go in to the shop, they say go to the office first. Long story short "Bambi" at the desk wants to charge me $10 just to put a little air in my tire. I'm like are you joking? I refuse to pay on principle, what if I had no money? I understand for smog customers who want all 4 of their tires checked and properly inflated its a full service. But me, I'm just stuck in the rain around the corner from my house and don't want to call a tow or drive up to Chevron as it might damage my tire. So no $10 means no air. I'm appalled and never going here again. Worst customer service that they can't help someone in that situation. Who charges for air anyways!? read more

What a great experience! I needed a smog certification after a week of exasperation surrounding just owning a car. I was greeted by a very nice young man who was proactive and saw me park adjacent from their shop and just asked me to please park in front of one of their bays. Did so and was greeted again by him and was super calming and cool headed (which I appreciated given the week I have had surrounding my car)...I went into the office and was greeted by a nice young man who took my coupon and my info and off he went and got going stat....as I had been driving much for the past year I was a wee bit fearful of failing the test. After just under 10 minutes, in he walked with a smile on his face and said.."No problem, you passed"..and then went on to say that I keep my car in good condition! Gee...thanks! Great! I was relieved and also impressed with their demeanor. They were kind enough to supply me with their names and jotted them on a piece of paper for me but unfortunately, I have searched and searched for it and alas but that I cannot locate it with which to give them each individual praise. Should I locate it I will update this review. But suffice to say that they are easy going, professional, and work quickly. Kudos to Smog and Go Folsom. I will return in the future when I need smog certification and would be very happy to recommend them to anyone. Thanks guys! read more

I've been taking all my cars for many years but this week they refused to complete the actual smog test because it "failed" the visible inspection. I have a third part exhaust system that passes ever time, but now out of the blue, needs to have an EO (Executive Order) number stamped on the upgrade. I suggest that anyone with mods - take their cars to another smog test station. read more

Great experience. The line was long enough that I was concerned about time. In the end, I was out of there in 25 minutes. 5 minutes faster than promised. Price is not the cheapest in town. HOWEVER, if you end up needing a re-test for any reason, it's free within 90 days. Price was about $10 higher than other shops in town. But if you need a re-test, other shops will likely charge about $30 extra. Bottom line, the extra $10 is worth the investment if you have issues passing. I used the coupon through Yelp for $10 off anyway. Win - win!! read more
