WHAT A BOLD FACE LIAR This place is a total scam. I went in to get a smog and before she smog my car, she could not see my odometer because on my BMW it says emergency call system malfunction and it cost $2800 to fix such an arcade system. Mechanically nothing is wrong with my car. It's a 2020 BMW I paid $33 but I so I paid $33 but I failed my smog because she could not see my odometer. Prior to this, she looked in my car. She could not see the odometer so why would she perform the smog? And then when she did do the test on the car she put 1 mile in that does not make sense. She should've told me that because my odometer could not be seen that she could not smog my car now I just wasted $33 Terrible business terrible service. I would not recommend this place.. A serious con artist for not being transparent with the odometer. It was the only reason why my small didn't pass . Clearly if you could not see the odometer when you looked into my car then why would you smog my car? I'm really upset about the fact that she lied to me to my face. and then giving me advice that I can get a 30 day moving past to extend the time for me to get a small. I hate liars. I was close by this smog express after I had my car fixed and the mechanic wanted to make sure I pass the smog test with my 11 year old car. $29 for the same smog test I could have at my neighborhood shop which would've only cost me $18. What a rip off! read more

Just GO! Used to to go an oil change that's supposed to be jiffy, but they no longer do the smog checks so went to this place instead. And, I'm glad that I did. Should have gone here to begin with years ago! This place is located on the same spot as gas station/car wash/Oil change station. It's closest to the Fort Apache side of that square (NOT the W. Charleston side). Open Mon-Sat 0800-1730. Sarah is a hoot! Great personality, very polite, and the smog check took no more than 30 minutes (and that's with 2 other cars in front of me on a Saturday afternoon about 3pm). Obviously, value for the price you pay for great service is paramount and she delivers. She says she does about 80 during the non-winter months and about 100+ during the summertime. I can't imagine being out there in the heat doing 10 hour shifts @ that pace. If so inclined, buy her a bottle of water/soda or snacks. Straightforward and quick smog check service for $29. It's basically a tent outside next to shell gas station where you drive up to and get it settled! Took me about 3 minutes. There may be other cars in line sometimes but I come here every year and go online to finilize my DMV registration. It's that time of the year for my car to be smogged before getting the registration renewed for another year. I have gone to another place for several years, but I found out they only do smog tests until noon and I was there at 12:10. I drove down Charleston to try a place I haven't been to before, Smog Xpress. The area is a small section of parking lot at the corner of Charleston and Fort Apache in front of the Fabulous Freddy's car wash and gas pumps. It's a tent like affair with the equipment underneath the signs. There was one car in the check spot, so I parked next to it. The technician told me to wait until that car backed out and move to that position. It was only a few minutes and I was in place. You do not need to get out of the car. The technician reads your odometer and plugs to equipment into the port on the car to do the test. He was masked due to Covid-19. The test is a very quick thing and I gave him my credit card. The payment is processed through Square, so I had my receipt in my in box when I got home. I also got a paper copy of the results so I could use to do the renewal. They offer for a fee of $10 to submit the registration for you to the state. I declined. I went to the AAA office where there's a renewal kiosk and I was soon home with my new plate sticker. I was very pleased with the speed and the way the smog test was done. read more

Hate to be the type to post bad reviews. Although I feel like this is a must. I didn't realize I wasn't in line as I was on the other side. A truck backed out so I pulled in and Sarah told me there was already a guy in line. I mentioned I was here before and didn't realize he was in line. I said it's okay I can back out and let him in front. I immediately get told im acting like a "bitch" as im pulling out. Maybe she was having a bad day. But then told me i wont be serviced and that i was acting like a brat. I was just trying to let the guy in front of me. Other than this one time, ive never had any other problems. read more

Showed up today around 12:30pm and there were a line of cars ahead of me - 3 to be exact. Josh, who was working alone, quickly acknowledged me and wrote my vehicle down and told me it'd be about a 30 minute wait. It ended up only being a 20-25 minute wait and the process was done in about 5 minutes. In addition, I paid an extra $10 + the DMV registration fee ($235) +$39.99 smog check fee right on the spot where I was instantly registered and good to go right after. I had my annual smog emissions test completed today (September 14, 2024) at Smog Xpress at 1101 S. Fort Apache in Las Vegas, NV. I had an outstanding experience. The wait time was less than 10 minutes, even though there were 2 cars ahead of me. The inspector (I wish I had asked for her name) was extremely efficient, knowledgeable and professional. Most important, she was very patient with me, because I tend to be very nervous and uncertain when it comes to anything having to do with motor vehicles. Most surprising was the cost: $29.99! I thought it would be significantly more expensive. What a great value. I most highly recommend Smog Xpress on Fort Apache for anyone needing emissions testing. read more
