We tried their Chicago Restaurant Week menu and got to choose from some of their popular items. For $45, we got an appetizer, entrée, drink, and dessert. The brisket was pretty tender, but I would've liked a little more flavor. The sides were okay--I usually prefer sweet baked beans, and theirs were smoked, so it was an interesting new flavor. The banana pudding was scrape-the-bowl worthy--definitely recommend!

Waiting for baseball game....Service was great at 4pm. Ordered the Mac Daddy w/pulled pork- good. Cheesiness was different from my SWest upbringing. Pulled pork, brisket and turkey was so good - very juicy! A lot of the time with turkey & chicken it can be dry but not here. Beans were a lil spicy for me but my partner loved it.

This BBQ place across the street from Wrigley Field has a great menu with dishes that give you the flexibility of trying several of their smoked meats and terrific sides. If you like Smokey sweet baked beans with pieces of brisket throughout, you'll love these. The coleslaw is perfect, not too saucy, yet creamy enough. The brisket and the ribs are standouts here. The space is wide open so you can see all the Wrigley Field action throughout your meal. The staff is very professional and welcoming. The service here is reason enough to come.

Good food, great views! Directly across from Wrigley it's a perfect spot to pregame before the cubs game. Ordered the smoked meat platter and easily fed 2 people. They were out of burnt ends this particular day but I would recommend that smoked meat first. Service was spectacular as well! Our waitress Kass was so awesome, sweet and had great recommendations. We visited Smoke Daddy when the kids weren't really feeling it at the Christkindl market. The Christmas decor was great. Our server Juan was *amazing* and we had a great meal. I had brunch and everything was so good. The bacon was perfect. The hashbrowns were very well seasoned and flavorful. The pancakes were good and the monkey bread was perfect! I had the breakfast sandwich. I had no idea brisket, eggs, American cheese and bacon would be so perfect together. Definitely a fun Sunday stop!

This was so much food that I had plenty left to take home as well. The brisket deviled eggs are so delicious! The loaded fries are worth ordering. The little city eats has to be the best deal on the menu. It comes with so much meat. Honestly that was my only meal that day because I was so full after! The plate comes with 3 types of meat with 2 sides. I chose the brisket, cole slaw, and cornbread. They have an assortment of bbq sauces on the table. My favorite was the blazing hot sauce with the mustard sauce in 2nd place. The banana pudding is delicious. Presentation points for the banana pudding cause I was not expecting it to look so nice.

Going not during Cubs traffic is key. Unfortunately, they were still out of the burnt ends though. The Daddy-O brisket and sauce were pretty good, definitely the favorite item. Hot links, pulled pork, and Mac were all just classic - pretty decent. The beans had meat in them and were actually kinda different and really good. Overall was impressed by the price and quality for a Wrigley BBQ place.

After touring Wrigley Field, our group of 11 headed over to Smoke Daddy for lunch, and it couldn't have been a better choice. They had no problem accommodating our large party, and the entire experience was excellent. The food was amazing. We ordered the "Taste of the Daddy," a massive tray loaded with brisket, pulled pork, a full rack of ribs, half a chicken, hot links, mac & cheese, pit beans, and more. Every bite was packed with smoky flavor, but the ribs and pit beans were personal standouts. Absolutely delicious. Our server, Sydney, was fantastic, fast, attentive, and full of great recommendations that helped us navigate the menu. She really added to the experience. My only complaint was that I wanted to buy a Smoke Daddy 94 t-shirt, but there were no XL sizes available. It was a bit disappointing since we came all the way from California to visit. Note to the manager: please consider stocking more XL shirts. Overall the vibe inside is fun and casual, with a cool neighborhood feel and a definite Cubs connection. Don't be surprised if you spot a former or current Cubs player grabbing a bite. Whether you're a local or just in town for a game, Smoke Daddy is a must-visit in Wrigleyville.

Smoke Daddy did not disappoint. Stopped in here after visiting the Wicker Park location a few years ago. On this occasion the Bears were playing. Several TV playing NFL games playing. We were served by Colleen, who was also making fierce drinks. For cocktails we grabbed an old fashion and Cubbie blue margarita. We went straight in for bbq which was delicious. Hubby and I both ordered the two meat platter which includes 2 sides. I got the ribs and brisket with beans and cornbread. My husband grabbed the brisket and pulled pork. We both enjoyed our entrees. The beans were impressive. I also killed those ribs. Nice date night and really enjoyed this restaurant.

The location and vibe are 4 stars, the service 4, and the food 2.5. Seeing as the food is the most important factor, the great location, ambiance, people watching, and clean bathrooms were offset by slow service and food served cold. This is BBQ. Also disappointing was the funky, anemic looking brisket served cold and the everything else on the plate. The pulled pork was slightly better. I guess good enough for a pre game but not otherwise.

One thing that I've always liked about bbq food, is that it's always cooked before. The main protein of your dish has is usually smoked and ready to be served way before. So it's always been somewhat of quick meal. But I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're trying to get something to eat before a Cubs game. We were fortunate enough to be given a seat. It was definitely packed, but waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered Brisket Nachos and a Brisket sandwich w/ fries. But our food was nowhere to be found. We were assured we wouldn't miss first pitch. We definitely missed the first pitch. Our server lacked a sense of urgency and seemed scared to ask the kitchen. He mentioned the they get mad when you ask them. The worst part of this entire thing was the food. I will admit, I do get impatient at times, but all that frustration goes away when a delicious plate is placed on my table. Not this time. The food game cold, like it was sitting for a while. The brisket sandwich was also cold and tasteless. Like I had mentioned, we ordered the sandwich with fries and got Cole slaw. Our server said he would bring out the fries...he never did. If you're going to have an operation across the street from Wrigley, you have to step it up big time. Should be able to handle large crowds on a consistent basis. Will definitely not be returning here.

Wanted food and love music... we got both but not to the caliber I was expecting. The bourbon mules were good and the coleslaw as a side was very good as well however the rest of our food was not as amazing. It lacked taste for a BBQ joint. They had run out of the pork so settled for pulled chicken. Overall, it was not bad but definitely not as good as other places. I'm not sure how they got to a 3.8 rating at the time of my post. All I have to say is ...if you are new to Chicago and are in this area taking in a baseball game and you decide you want to get some Chicago style bbq, this is not the place. It does not represent the traditional Chicago style bbq that we are known for. Get some of the buffalo cauliflower bites, a drink or two and move on. read more

We are from out of town and decided to grab a bite before a Cubs game. The view is great as you get to see the outside of Wrigley field, the service was good however the food was OK at best. Smoke Daddy definitely has the best BBQ in Wrigley IMO! You can't beat the smoked meats and location. Smoke Daddy's is directly across the street from Wrigley Field. I recommend sitting on the second level rooftop area, which overlooks Gallagher Way. We came before the Zac Brown concert at Wrigley Field and it was the perfect spot for drinks and food pre-concert. We split the Big City Eats which included ribs, chicken and brisket. For our sides we choose baked beans, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. We also added the cornbread. The meats were delicious and the sides were just as good as well as decent sized portions. It was the perfect amount of food for the two of us to split. You must get the cornbread! We both got the Irish Orange Mule and it paired perfect with the BBQ. We will be back soon! read more

My friends and I came in on a Friday night and were seated right away. There was live music, which we loved, but it was extremely loud. We had to yell to hear each other. I like the place, clean and spacious. The food is good too. Definitely worth more than its current standing. I'm voting 5 stars in hope to bring up the average to at least a 4. Yesterday was our first visit and definitely not our last. I had the bbq pulled chicken sandwich and my boyfriend had the half rack ribs and they were amazing and don't forget the mac n cheese! We sat upstairs next to the awesome patio, we weren't brave enough to actually sit outside since the crazy rain showers this weekend. I'm bummed about our visit here. Came here before a cubs game and ordered chicken wings, full rack of ribs with two sides. The wings were excellent. However, everything else food-wise fell short. Our ribs we sent back the first time because they were SO tough. My husband couldn't even cut into the meat or stick a fork in it. They took the ribs with our two sides and gave us a new rack of ribs, but without the sides we paid for. The ribs were the exact same and we barely ate any. Asked for our sides and they never came, so we asked for it to be taken off the check. $130 (food + a couple drinks) and left absolutely starving. I don't understand how this place serves ribs. They were totally inedible. Our server was super sweet though and was helpful. read more

Awesome spot located in Wrigleyville right by the Hotel Zachary. The atmosphere is pretty cool and relaxed, as there's TVs everywhere and live music. Definitely some great entertainment while eating. The drinks menu has a decent selection of beer, cocktails, etc. The food menu is a good size and features apps, BBQ entrees, sandwiches and sides. BBQ includes brisket, chicken, pork, and burnt ends, which were delicious. I tried the entree that came with two meats and two sides, which were the burnt ends and the chicken. The burnt ends were crispy and juicy and the chicken was tender. For the sides I got the beans, which were a good combination of sweet & salty and had pork pieces in it. I also got the fries which were standard. Overall, the food was great, the ambiance was comfortable and the location is awesome. Come hungry. read more

Knocking off stars because of the disappointing service. We had made a reservation for 12:15 but they left us waiting for almost half an hour before they could get us a seat. We had made a reservation a day ahead of time so we wouldn't have to wait, but I suppose this place just doesn't know what reservation actually means. In a search for chicken dishes in the area, I came across Smoque and came to Yelp to get a sense of it. Only to discover my own review, from 14 years ago. I did not remember this place and certainly did not remember coming here, at all. But I figured my 4 star review from the Obama years must certainly be 5 stars for 2026, since restaurants are so inconsistent lately. I was right. The half chicken was smoked *perfectly.* It was fatty and crispy, but it was not doused in oil the way so many restaurants do these days. And even if you remove the skin from your chicken, the flesh itself was tender but firm and flavorful - even the breast. Plus, if you have leftovers, it reheats very well and kept its crispiness and moisture. This time they did have St Louis ribs, of which we bought a sampler. I'm not a pork person these days (I don't digest it well) but I had a bit and it was great. Too bad I forgot about this place relatively close to me. I would have purchased a lot of smoked chicken here over the years. But I look forward to making their chicken a staple of mine. The prices are super competitive, too, especially for the quality.

When I find myself thinking of a return trip while still there, you know for sure Offset BBQ delivers! I ordered the All Beef Platter, and got the Brisket Chili (upgrade) as my side. The sausage was fantastic! It had a snap which made all the Chicago Hot Dogs within a 20 mile radius jealous. Inside was a maximally savory, salty but not over-salted filling. The kind of meat that needs no sauce. Then comes the brisket! A lovely piece of meat that was so tender, looking at it and licking my lips caused the meat to start falling apart. I also loved that it was a good balance of meaty and fatty bits. However, there is a small 'but' here. For my taste, the brisket needed a very light sprinkle of salt. No matter, with the help of the sauces the brisket leveled up enough to take on any boss battle thrown at it. Speaking of sauces: The KC Style and Hawaiian were both good. Both were sweet, and had some tang, though, it seemed the KC had a slight edge in the bold department between the two. A sauce I loved though was the Chicago White, a fantastic Horseradish and Mustard sauce that was unique, interesting, savory, fresh, and a little spicy. The kind of sauce I want to buy a container of and take home! For my side, I upgraded to the bowl of brisket chili. I loved this so much, I may just order this as a main on a return visit. The chili did not at all skimp on the meat, which was tender and flavorful. The use of beans, corn, and veggies were there to help accent everything else, and were themselves cooked perfectly. Kudos also for the inclusion of a couple pickled jalapeno slices. My heat tolerance may be too high to feel a burn, but the crispness of acid did wonders! The included coleslaw was one thing I did not love. I appreciated that they were not heavy handed on the mayo, and the dressing overall was light in quantity and consistency. However, the cabbage was sliced as if by a sleep deprived stagiaire who has yet to master knife skills. The slicing was terribly inconsistent, with some pieces being way too large. For dessert, I ordered the Blueberry Handpie. This was so much better than expected! The crust was flaky and wonderful, and the filling had plentiful sweet blueberries. This dish also excelled in its execution. The cast iron pan kept the pie warm, and the ice cream was such that didn't melt right away. I also loved that the blueberries weren't screaming hot and exploding with lava. When it comes to the service, the bar-server was fantastic. She was kind, friendly, and attentive. Food came out pretty fast, too, considering how fresh everything was. Finally, while I did not make laps around the entire establishment, the vibe has just the right intersection between BBQ and Rock & Roll, with the music playing at the perfect volume to be appreciated while being not at all intrusive. Final verdict: There are many who sing the praises of Smoque BBQ, which is a great spot. However, between the two, I prefer Offset. Other than a sloppy-chopped Coleslaw, the experience was fantastic not only in the food, but in the execution and the thought put into the experience.

Now, that said, the prices at Blackwood are on the high side. On the one hand, I know the price of a pound of ground beef is greater than the minimum wage (as of this writing). However, I also can't help but feel the punch to the wallet when two meats and one side, where one of those is brisket, and a soda comes to somewhere between $20-25 (I think it's close to $25, but don't want to misspeak). Half a pound of meat is not a lot, making the wallet punch even worse. Then there comes the service. Most of the folks working here are professional and welcome. There is this one person, though, whose level of gruffness seems a bit high. It wasn't so much a lack of pleasantries for the sake of efficiency as it was annoyance that customers exist? Final verdict: If you're working in the loop, and craving BBQ, Blackwood is a rock-solid spot, but the high prices mean it likely isn't practical for a regular spot. While I understand this is becoming a common industry practice, a gratuity should ultimately be an option based on service. The server did mention at the end that we could have it removed if we wanted to, but customers shouldn't be forced into that awkward position in the first place. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has also gone downhill. I always used to order the ribs and frequently took extra food home because it was so good. Last night, the food left a lot to be desired. The barbecue simply isn't what it once was. When my uncle graduated in the 90s we went to your previous downtown location.He loved the restaurant as well; the food, the exceptional service, and the warm atmosphere. I went there year after year. While I respect that they have managed to stay in business for 30 years, there were just too many issues with both the service and the food for me to return.

I generally don't have an appetite for bbq and wrigleyville to be honest but a friend of mine invited me to check out Smoke Daddy and all I can say is how FANTASTIC it was. From the decor to the service down to the food everything had bite. It's not your typical sports bar... The ambience is cozy and tastefully decorated, the food is so flavorful... from the baked beans to the ribs to the mac and cheese.... so so good. And as far as the drinks are concerned... I'm sober - so I stuck with mocktails, and I can't describe in enough detail how great they were. Carl, our Bartender, offered to "whip us up something delightful" and he fulfilled that and then some. I ended getting his contact so he work a private party for me coming up and 'whip us up' some more of his drinks because friends, they were that good! Big kudos to Carl and Smoke Daddy. Two stars cuz the place is cool. Cool mix of texture, color, and culture. The drink menu is rather small for a bar, and very expensive. Less than sub par beer list, especially for the amount of travelers coming through the area. Yes, I realize it's in Wrigleyfield, but it's still a small drink for a solid $2-3 more than anywhere. Ordered 1/2 smoked chicken, cornbread and Mac & cheese... chicken is very Smokey, but dry. Almost flavorless. The cornbread is also pretty dry. The Mac & cheese is OK. Other dish was a pulled pork sandwich, which, even smothered in sauce, remained flavorless. Had such a huge portion that was burnt (and I mean BLACK, stuck together burnt), that it made up 1/2 the meat of the sandwich Decent fries. Don't even get me started on all of Chicago serving Pepsi!! Smoke Daddy BBQ is a solid, average spot with some highs and lows. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whiskey selection was impressive. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, which added to the experience. As for the food, I found it a bit hit or miss. The burnt ends were a little fattier than I prefer, and while the BBQ sauces were above average, they didn't completely make up for the rest. I also ordered the "jalapeño beer cheese" appetizer, which, although tasty, was served cold in a ball like a cheeseball. It wasn't what I expected and felt a bit odd for BBQ fare. All in all, the friendly service, solid drink options, and decent environment kept it from dipping below 3 stars, but the food itself prevented me from rating it any higher. I went here a few weeks ago with about 9 other people and came for the "bottomless brunch". The food was very good but it seemed like the bottomless part of the brunch was intentionally being slow walked. When we ordered our first platter of breakfast they only brought one tray of food for all 10 of us that had maybe 5 pancakes, 3 pieces of bacon 2 sausages and hashbrowns (which were very good) which wasn't enough for the table and had to ask for another. A lot of the items didn't come out together so it was hard to eat all the breakfast items together. My eggs came separately (and were cold) so I ate pancakes while I waited for hot eggs. Over all the food was great, just wish the food had been more plentiful. Would go back again. read more

Very rude waitress, she came over and Instead of being polite, she barked at me, that I was at a reserved table.... I hadn't been approached previously so I thought she would take my drink order but instead spit fire at me and walked away... moments later some meathead beard freak approached saying I had seated myself improperly and that I would have too leave. I let him know that basic customer service would go a long way and he dismissed me, so I left... it's crazy to me how poorly I was treated when no hostess or anyone had approached me to seat me accordingly... We smelled BBQ from down the street and had to stop in and so glad that we did! We got a 1/2 pound of pulled pork and Mac and Cheese and we also got the loaded fries and a burger with coleslaw. Everything was delicious, but I could've eaten a whole plate of the Mac and cheese. Everything came out super quickly and the servers/hosts were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was so cool and they have nice bbq food options. Everything was appetizing and well-cooked food. Nice menu. I ordered the Brisked Sandwich and Pulled pork sandwich for my husband. I think it's fair to say Smoke Daddy really is the grand-daddy of them all. From their menu of exquisitely smoked meats to expansive list of refreshments, this place really has it all. Plan a trip to Chicago just to give this place a try. Wrigley Field is conveniently located across the street to enjoy a ballgame after your meal. read more

food was delicious and portions were huge! Cute little bar side and tables accommodated to small groups to large groups and booth tables. Upstairs area to eat and lounge too. Servers were nice and the girl up front Gracie was so sweet and welcoming. Really good place to watch sports on the tv and hangout with friends or family. read more

Had an amazing time at Smoke Daddy BBQ. The food was on point--perfectly smoked and super flavorful (highly recommend the burnt ends!). But what really made our night was our server, Ivan. We go here often for their brunch! They have really delicious monkey bread, hash browns, and pancakes. They have really good Bloody Mary's with lots of thick meat as a garnish. It's a great location if you want to come for a baseball game and walk around wrigley. Staff is always friendly. read more

The food is great I had the smoked wings and they are tasty and the sauces to go with it are great. For my meal I tried the Daddy-O sandwich and it was mighty tasty the fries are solid and the Mac and cheese is very good. The service was solid no issues read more
