What we didn't realize was the absolutely giant variety of charcoal & gas grills and outdoor kitchens the store has. Seems that they have everything related to outdoor cooking. Many of the brands are ultra-premium. We have been cooking on the Big Green Egg exclusively, don't have a need for new gear, but it was really nice to hear about this stuff. Arriving hungry form the northwest suburbs we pleasantly surprised to find out they also SELL barbecue. It was lunchtime so we took a seat at the bar, each having a beer and a sandwich. The pulled pork and the brisket were really good. This is definitely a destination store, trip-worthy from anywhere. We will be back!

We have been looking to upgrade our grill for a number of years and have finally done it. I really wanted the a good looking grill area and looked many places to either custom build or have a good looking pre-made cabinet. First the custom build was out of my price range. I wanted to have the gas grill and the egg in the same unit but was not able to find any at all. I found two units that I could push together but they were really ugly. Then I went to the experts, The Backyard Barbecue Store. First they were more knowledge about the grills themselves than anyone else and they have a company that makes units just like I wanted. Bonus, they have multiple finishes for you to choose from. I stopped in a couple of times before making my final decision and they were so knowledgeable it was stunning. They were super patient with me. I am such a novice. They do classes here too. I am planning on taking one on how to use my new Big Green Egg. Mike, has already spent an hour of his time giving me some rudimentary instructions. So generous of him! If you are thinking of entering the world of grilling or replacing some existing equipment you would be foolish to not, at least, stop in here!

I don't need a grill at the moment because mine is pretty good, but Barbecue Supply Company will be where I go to purchase a smoker (hopefully soon). The wall of barbecue sauces and rubs is impressive. This isn't crappy stuff like you find in a grocery store. These are competition winning, mostly regional based rubs and sauces that a normal grocery store doesn't carry. For example, Joe's KC BBQ is the best sauce I've tried to this point in my life and they had multiple bottles of it available. I ended up picking up a couple different bottles from other brands based on his suggestion and I look forward to trying them.

They carry local items like sauces and a really good selection of products that can only be found here or by searching them out on the Internet. Got our fireplace upgraded last November just in time for the holidays and we have had a winter and early spring filled with nice ambiance in our den. The whole installation process only took about 4 hours from installing the gas line, putting in the gas logs, sweeping our chimney and painting the interior box. They came out a few weeks later and got our nice new glass doors installed replacing our dated old 80s brass ones. So efficient and couldn't be more satisfied!

They have lots of options, and unlike some stores they sell pieces individually instead of just as a group or set. There were a couple sets from Sunbrella that I liked, and one from another brand that uses that sort of poly wood (but not that brand name) that was really comfortable and felt nice. If only I had unlimited funds! They apparently switch over to Christmas trees in the winter months, for at least a little while, and they well grills and other outdoor equipment here as well. I tried to explain endlessly, the person that was helping me previously was sitting right there and never said a word to jump in and help. She was the one to r present options. As a customer, we do our best to describe what we mean, the company are the experts. No one cared in the moment. The sales person or anyone could have stepped in to be helpful when I was totally and I mean TOTALLY confused. I had the time and date of my last visit with the info that I received documented. I shared that. I was just left to remain unaware. Also, all I did was type bench in their search and it came right up. This was after I was told it didn't exist. So, I'll take a pass on revisit an experience with your team. From one visit to the next, the pricing constantly changes, and communication with the staff is extremely difficult. I don't understand how the exact same part can more than double in price within just a few days. I had the timestamps, photos, and all the details documented. One day, the item is supposedly "in the system," and the next day it suddenly disappears. Then a new price seems to get made up on the spot. The whole experience comes across as highly untrustworthy, especially when there are plenty of other businesses nearby willing to be transparent and consistent. What really frustrated me was being told in person that they didn't have 'benches' on their website. I walked to my car, searched their website, and found the benches that I was referring to AND searchable for nearly half the price I was quoted. In business you don't 'try' to be professional. I wish someone had of tried harder when I was standing there with proof of my last visit and really needed help. If they simply don't want to work with certain customers, they should say so directly. I was polite, respectful, and genuinely interested in their business the entire time. Very disappointing experience.
