Saturday morning psychos! The car wash died. I notify the staff, that the car in front of me is stuck in the car wash. What does the staff do? She explains that she doesn't run the car wash, and walks away! OK...well the guy is still stuck, so I let someone else know. He trys to sell me a car wash! He refuses to leave the store to check the car wash. It's Saturday, Woodbridge, 9 in the morning, and there are no customers except me and the poor guy stuck in the car wash. Finally, his manager comes out, she claims she'll reset it. Cool, no problem. 15 minutes later, one of her psychos comes out, checks the machine, and walks back in to the store. I wait another 5 minutes. Nothing. I decide to check the machine. Keep in mind, the guy is still stuck in the car wash! So, what had did the worker done to the machine? He put an out of order sign on the machine and walked away! Said nothing to us, just put the sign on the machine and walked away, leaving us both waiting on the machine to start. When I first moved to VA I needed to get an inspection to register my vehicle. I was no stranger to yearly safety inspections and before I left North Carolina had new brakes put on and replaced those license plates light bulbs that are always out in to ensure a smooth inspection. My father owned a service station for 30 years before he sold his business and retired so I know how customers should be treated. Not knowing any of the shops I randomly drove around till I found one that looked ok. They failed me because my parking brake barely held, which is fine that's the standard. I had them fix it there so I could be on my way. So teenage kid who obviously had never done the job before did the work. They charge me a what my father and I believed to be a high price. The next day when I put some miles on my truck it quickly became apparent one of the back brakes were locked up. I brought it back for them to fix because it had been perfectly find till they touched it. The shop manager tried to get me to replace the whole rear break system from the master cylinder back, we are talking about nearly 800-900 dollars worth of parts and labour. I laughted at the guy and drove off. The GMC dealer fixed there screw up for around $75 bucks. Shortly after that I discovered an Exxon Station at miniville rd and dale. The manager there is great, they do good work, and I will continue to avoid the sunocco at all costs. read more

I have been reading the reviews on this service station. First, there is NO car wash here. Second, there is no full service pumps. I guess you really have to be careful and weigh what your reading. I have been to this station a number of times for an inspection and my car is has some years on it yet I always keep it up. I have never had a problem with these guys. Maybe not the friendliest bunch but they do my inspections and send me on my way. read more

They did give me rejection on state inspection. I was ok about that. However, they did not tell me what to do after I get rejection on va state inspection. I already knew what to act after I got a rejection. They pull off my wheels, maybe to see my brake pads, and there are tons of scratches now. If you do not know about car or rules, NOT RECOMMENDED THESE SHOPS. read more

Many of these reviews are very suspect. Someone wrote about the carwash being broken. Well, this location does not have a carwash. I have been going to this place for nearly 20 years and they have never had a carwash. I always felt they gave me an honest price for repairs. read more

Had one of the WORST experiences. TOO EXPENSIVE AND VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Got quoted too much for a simple oil change and tire rotation when said the price was too high and didn't want the job done there, the guy said "Sure" as in he was happy to turn me away. They will let you know if they find any issues other than what it was in to be fixed. They do not force or try to upsell other services. Very satisfied with their work. This place is terrible. They are very rude especially the guy by the name of Hamid Ghassemi. I had my car inspected there and when I tried to talk to the guy he was argumentive and nasty. He took it upon himself to fail me because the"battery holder was missing" but on paper according to the computer failed me because of suspension exhaust system. Stay away from that place because they will fail you according to how they feel! read more

I've been going to the Smoketown Sunoco for a few years now and I never liked the attitudes. The last two visits there to get my emissions done convinced me to never, ever, ever go there again. Two weekends in a row I was told that my car wasn't ready for emissions. Perhaps I needed to drive my car around some more, have I had any work done to effect the emissions? INo and no. I've had my car since 2011 and no work has been done to affect the emissions. I asked to have my car looked at because I knew this wasn't normal. Not once was I taken seriously. I was talked to like a little baby, a hysterical woman who wasn't listening. I yelled and got very angry at my treatment. I was told that a diagnostic could be done for $98. I said, do it but the man walked away because I wasn't being a little girl and listening. I went to Advanced Auto Parts and got a free diagnostic. Guess what?!?! I need to change my spark plugs which is the culprit. Why did I have to get into a shouting match because these pigs at Sunoco didn't want to entertain the thought that a woman knows her car? The idea of telling me to drive my car around a little more was freaking stupid. I guess Sunoco gets so many customers they didn't need my business. Well, blow it out of your ear Sunoco, I wouldn't pull up to your establishment if my car was on fire and I needed help. You people don't deserve to have a business if you don't want to listen to what the customer has to say. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars! I went to get my car inspected on Saturday and failed because of my brakes. The guy said my rear brakes failed and my front brakes were close to failing. He pleasantly offered to replace my brakes. When my brakes were replaced I was told my front brakes were like brand new. There was one worn area which was deemed borderline. When I returned to the shop on Monday morning the guy told me I misunderstood him and that my front brakes were 100 percent. Not sure how I could confuse the words borderline and 100 percent. He was trying to take advantage of me. As an aside, I was one of three cars in line for inspections. The woman in front of me failed and the guy behind me was returning to get his car reinserted after having failed. Several also failed on Saturday. Coincidence? I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

Stay as far away from this place as possible. I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation and left with body damage. The put a huge dent in the bottom of the door and refused to take responsibility. read more

Beware, beware, beware! I took my car to this location for a state inspection. They inspected the car and told me that I needed engine mounts, quoting a price of about $180. I probably would not have thought twice about the results; however, my car is not very old and I had just taken my it for service just one day prior to a reputable establishment. They looked the car over and recommended everything that I needed to pass inspection. I also noticed that the car in front of me received a "four minute express" inspection. The inspector didn't even raise the hood on this car and passed it that quickly, seeming more friendly with this customer. I later asked for a written estimate from a technician, which he refused to put in writing, this seeming very odd to me. Anyway, truly feeling that this was a bogus claim in order to receive extra money, I took the car to a different inspector the next day. The car passed without any problems.
