I would consider this to be one of the best environments that there are as far as restaurants go in Bowling Green. We had a wonderful server, and he was attentive to anything we could've possibly needed! Food portions are very large, so you can expect to be getting what you pay for. We were on a long trip and we were very hungry. The food was just aging, my BB eibs were perfect, ( I am very picky on ribs). My wife's salmon was excellent and my daughter had burger that she enjoyed a lot. I also have to say...that the waitress was just perfect, always present , but yet respected our privacy. We arrived there at 6:00 pm. for a Birthday celebration. It took forever to get our drinks, then it was a long time until the waiter took our order. We waited over an hour and 20 minutes to finally get our food. Several people that came in after us got their food long before we did. Someone in the restaurant kept screaming out, very disturbing! Whew not a do over here :( We walked in to no one waiting and stood at the front door waiting to me acknowledged for 8 mins. We got to our table and got a waiter with in minutes of sitting down and places our orders. We waited for 47 minutes before our food arrived. Kettle chips were breaded, didn't even know they were supposed to be. My garlic sirloin tasted as if the sauce was thawed on my steak. We decided to give Smokey Bones a try before heading home to Alabama. Parking here is easy and we were seated straight away. Our waiter was very attentive. Unfortunately, the food wasn't the greatest. We started with fried green tomatoes and they were crisp on the outside but a mushy mess on the inside. I got morning glory burger and it was decent. Ate dinner there last night with my wife. Seated in booth in the bar area. Bartender brought our drinks and took our order but did not return. Since there was no one in the bar she vaped while talking to another employee. I had to go to the counter to request our food, we were not given any refills on our drinks, my wife had to go to the counter to request a to-go box and I had to go to the counter to request to pay the bill. I left a $1 tip which I think was more than they deserved. We will never eat there again but instead patronize the new barbeque places in town that are taking your business (and I fully understand why). Your customers deserve better. read more

My husband and I were here on July 4. There are a few things we were disappointed with. The ribs were not very meaty. Fries were not freshly prepared and were served warm, NOT hot. Too much ice and not enough liquor in the Mojito cocktail. Dinner for 2 around $60 - EXPENSIVE! Also, there's not a standard policy as to what is acceptable uniform attire. Everyone was wearing something different with their T-shirt. Our server was dressed to entertain a crowd of college students from Western Kentucky University, NOT to serve dinner for a couple in their 50's! My husband LOVED a "20 something" young lady wearing shorts...I would have preferred that the staff be asked to wear jeans or khakis. We loved the baby back ribs. The draw back here is getting seated quickly. They seemed under staffed so we just sat at a mostly empty bar on a Sunday and enjoyed a good meal. Well this place did not start out to well. Took a while to get seated to a mostly empty restaurant. The booth light was out,thankfully we were beside a window. They show fried green tomatoes for apps on their computer and then tell us they were taken off menu. Faith's burger was good as well as Scott's pulled pork. My steak was way over cooked, ordered medium and this is what I got. Had them to take off the order and bring me a burger. So my family is done eating and I am still waiting. Okay, I debated a 4-star rating and on another day I might have gone that way. I have nothing really to complain about and a solid 3 star rating for good chain-restaurant food is good IMO. I had been eating nothing but "healthy" foods for all of January so stepping into Smokey Bones in early Feb for a big burger piled high with pulled pork BBQ and cheese with a side of baked mac n' cheese and fries followed up by their always delicious if fattening hot doughnuts with chocolate and raspberry dipping sauces really, really hit the spot. I hadn't eaten at a Smokey Bones in years (maybe 10) but some friends wanted to meet here and I enjoyed it. The redesign makes it look like a "trendy" mid-level steakhouse rather than a BBQ joint but judging from my friend's meal BBQ is still what these folks do best. A decent selection of craft brews looked available as well. read more
