I wanted to go to this restaraunt specifically for the Brisket. My family and I have stopped at this location four times, our last being yesterday afternoon 2/9 at 3:10PM and they were already OUT of Brisket. The Host walked back and asked the kitchen. They said they sold out. All four times they have been out. I don't know who manages their food prep for the day but they obviously are not doing a good job of making sure a staple menu item is available to order. We went there last weekend. Sat in bar area, took ten minutes to get waited on and that's after a said something to the girl up front. Once got drink order in bartender is working the whole section by himself plus feel all drink orders plus bus his own tables. Asked about manager helping he just laughed. We stopped to eat here on our way back from Louisville. We have missed the Smokey Bones that was at Cool Springs and closed years ago as it was our Friday night regular hang out. This location was unfriendly and I man downright unfriendly when we asked could we sit in a booth by the window - the section was open so it shouldn't have been a problem but it was and I had already turned to walk out when they decided to accommodate our request. We were all really hungry when we went in. We ordered & started eating when my granddaughter said "what's this"? Oh no, it was a piece of plastic in her cheeseburger. She was really hungry & asked for another one. We expected the waitress to remove the burger from the bill but she had to talk to the manager. She came back without the burger removed from the check so we asked to speak to the manager. The manager didn't come out but did remove the burger from the check. The mediocre reviews are probably the old Smokey Bones. Wow what a difference the new has brought! Everything about this new place is superior to Double Dogs just up the street with the exception of the TV situation. DD still has the best sports bar environment...But everything about the new and much improved Smokeys is better...particularly the service at the bar. read more

Was in Bowling Green for business when I decided to stop off at Smokey Bones BBQ & Sports Bar. From the outside the place looks like a log cabin lodge and it carries that image on the inside too. Place is big with plenty of space. You don't feel like you're crammed in their like other places I've been too. They have several large screen TV which makes watching a game easy. Most of the stuff is BBQ with an Applebees touch to it. Prices here are reasonable. You can get most items between the $10 - $15 mark. Got in there and waiter came and placed in my order. I ended up getting the Smokehouse Chicken with a salad and a Coke. Not sure what it is when I travel to middle America, but I do like the fact they are not shy about their portions. I got the salad and it was huge. The salad wasn't the freshest salad I've had but I give Smokey Bones credit with loading it up with lots of veggies. Overall a good start. I got the smokehouse chicken and just like the salad, another very generous serving. I got 2 huge chicken breast with a good amount of bacon, Cheddar, and onion rings on top. To be honest, not the healthiest thing on the plant and probably topped 1,500 calories. I decided to get something sweet and ended up ordering the fresh donuts with the vanilla creme. Took a while, but they were really good. About 6 small donuts with Cinnamon and the vanilla creme just added something more to it. Very solid. Overall, probably about 3.5 rating. But the generous portion sizes, decent prices, and friendly services makes me round to up to a 4 star rating. So if you are looking to watch the game and just shovel massive amounts of food in your mouth that taste good, Smokey Bones BBQ & Sports Bar is an excellent choice. read more

We were the first ones in the door. I ordered dry baby back ribs with hand cut fries and side salad. Side salad was wilted and parts of cucumber already translucent from rotting. Ribs were not dry, looked to be baked with large amounts of fat that I tried to eat around. There was a powder and sauce on the side. My husband got chicken that tasted sour like it was not good. The pulled pork was cooked well but there was no savory flavor. The fries were hot and good. My son got a plain cheeseburger and they forgot the cheese. Food not Good. I can see where this could be a place to hang for Bar with drinks since open till 2am. Server William was Most Helpful, Courteous and Served us Well. Sorry, unless your catching a Drink. I was excited to come here. Was not ready for the poor quality of the food. The waitress was sweet and she was apologetic... I got the prime rib French dip. I asked if there was any fat and she assured me that they trim it off. I bit into it and the flavor was great. But as I chewed it was gristle and fat. The French fries were plentiful but ice cold. I told them but had no offer to correct the problem. Very disappointing for a $15.00 sandwich. It was not crowded, so no excuse for the quality. I will not return. read more

I tried to get her attention and she kept her head down and walked away. My family and I came to dinner on Thanksgiving day bc In the past we have had great dining experiences. Today was horrible. The server took 20 mins to take our drink order, which was water, and 15 mins to bring it back. When we ordered our food, we ordered the app and dinner the same time. Obviously we would like the app out before...well 45 mins later we flagged the server down to see where the app was and "oh shit, she says... I never put it in" ..... she then said don't tell anyone, I won't charge you. Then 5 mins later our food was brought out, with the appetizer that wasn't even correct. She never returned to the table to clear the plates or refill the drinks... NOT ONCE! We flagged her down again and she says "what do you guys want" .... say what???? We would like to order dessert please... and the ticket. 45 mins later we still don't have the dessert. We got here at 5 it's after 7 pm.... there are empty dirty tables everywhere. If you can not staff the joint then close the doors for the holidays. Never again will we come again. She just told us that she was SICK!!! WTF. This is awful... y'all seriously! I'm done. read more

When I arrived with my family there was no one at the check in and we had to wait quite a bit for someone to come seat us. I won't knock down a star because we weren't in a hurry. Our waitress was so polite, sweet, and attentive. I've never had a nicer waitress. She left us alone and didn't interrupt us when we were talking, but made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great. We started with the wings and they were the best wings I've ever had. They weren't greasy and were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of bbq sauce. Heaven! Great place to eat, the ribs fell off the bone when I touched them, didn't need a knife or fork to separate the meat from the bone. I also had the Hawaiian ribeye stake, It was also tinder and seasoned well. The waiter asked me if I wanted any stake sauce. I told him, my theroy is; if it needs stake sauce, something is wrong. Burger was pretty bad. service wasn't that great. I got a regular burger, but was charged for a burger with more expensive meat. Didn't realize it until after i gave them my credit card. Asked them to refund the difference, but that seemed impossible to do for some reason. I ended up with one of their loyalty cards with points on it that they said would equal the amount i overpaid. Haven't been back since so no idea if it's true or not. As far as the food i actually got...that had to have been the worst hamburger patty i ever had. It tasted real fatty with tons of hard and chewy pieces in it. Lots of other places in town that are better than Smokey Bones. On a positive note i think the place looks great. read more
