Took my wife to lunch at LongHorn on Mother's Day. We arrived right at opening. They got busy really quick and were well staffed for the business. Our server was fantastic and kept checking on us. The food was perfect starting with the Wild West Shrimp. My wife had chopped steak with mushrooms and gravy and I had Flo's Filet. Both were cooked perfectly. The filet was very tender and the best I have had in years. Even though they were extremely busy it was not noisy. Great atmosphere. Cheesecake for dessert. Sorry no picture. My Mom is a huge fan of their margaritas so whenever I visit we often find ourselves at Longhorn. They have definitely gone down hill in quality of food, and quality of service. We made sure to get on the waitlist almost an hour in advance, and although we were able to be seated quickly, getting service and receiving our food was a very long endeavor. It seems they are shortstaffed, but refuse to leave some tables empty. Our poor waitress was running around almost constantly. It seemed like she had way too many tables to handle. The food was decent, your usual chain steakhouse fare. a good thing about longhorns is that their margaritas are always massive, and usually pretty tasty. Not a terrible place to stop in BG but expect to wait and expect slow service. read more

Got there for what should have been a special day. Was told there would be an hour and forty minute wait. 2 hours later we were told it would be another 30-40 minutes. It was a dark and stormy night..... Well, it was snowing anyway. We decided on LongHorn for a birthday celebration. It's been years. We got seated immediately and started the task of deciding what to eat. I'm a burger fan so, it was easy for me. LH Burger, Cheddar Cheese, cooked medium rare, and fries for the side. Excellent! The burger was cooked exactly right and was full of flavor. The fries were hot and crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The staff was attentive, even the manager stopped by several times to ensure we were okay. We ordered the Molton Lava Cake to share as dessert and stand-in for the birthday cake. It's a crime how good this is. Warm, chocolaty, and shares the plate with vanilla ice cream. You can't go wrong. Everyone at the table said their steaks were cooked right and tender. First I understand that WKUs Homecoming was today but what frustrates me is the lack of concern on wait times. I called bc we had a party of 8 and you can't do it online so I called and we were about 15 mins away and was told 1 hour, okay that's fine. I was told to check in at the restaurant when we got there so I did and was told that it would only be 15 mins so we all went on and waited, 2 hours later we were seated. I asked several times and was told 15 more minutes.At least at Texas Roadhouse we were told a wait time of 3 hours which was accurate. The food was excellent! We had Flo's Filet, cooked MRare. The salad was fresh, crisp Romaine lettuce, bread was warm, everything was excellent. We had the BEST Server we've had anywhere in ages. He kept us in water (which was a lot as my husband had worked outside in the heat today) bread, etc., checked on us without feeling like he was hovering. The young lady who seated us was very nice & efficient. We sat close to the hostess desk. I observed her making sure everyone got seated efficiently. After I put my review on here, Longhorn sent me a $30 gift card, which was very nice as I wasn't looking for compensation, but I appreciated it. I took my daughter the other night and we both ordered ribeyes I had with my ribeye broccoli and a salad as I'm dieting and my daughter had a ribeye with asparagus and a side of french fries. I ordered a Coke Zero andjack. My daughter had the white sangria. Both drinks were made perfect. I like the way they put mine in a little silver cup. My daughters was Gigantus but she drank the whole thing !. I had to bring my steak home as every time I took a bite of it. My whole mouth and throat burned. I inquired of the waitress if they were using something different because it actually tasted like they dipped it in jalapeños. She said no they were probably a little heavy handed on the seasoning that's all, but it wasn't enjoyable at all. Even the next day it burnt my mouth and gave me a stomachache. I'm really sad because we have people coming for my daughter's graduation from Western and I wanted us all to go there, but I think I'm gonna try someplace else because it really ruined my experience of the steak and I love their steak!! My daughter's steak was perfect but I tasted hers and hers was spicy too. Now don't get me wrong. Went in with wife at 1:20 on MLK day they wasn't that busy got seated in the back waited 8 minutes and no one came to our table.Black girl server just kept looking at us it was section since she was watering the 2 tables that were right beside and front of us.Got tired of waiting and NOT ONE person stopped or said any thing to us as we got up and left.Me being a server in the passed she lost a huge tip.Went on to Outback and had a great lunch there. read more

The food we ordered was most excellent. I had the fire grilled T-bone and it was one of the tastiest most tender steaks I've ever eaten. The stuffed mushrooms were absolutely bonkers! So. Good. The salad was delicious - the bread - sides. Everything was great! One star off because they didn't bring one of the meals out with the rest and we were almost done eating by the time it did arrive. Also the roof started leaking on the seat directly next to my wife, but that's just not that big of a deal if it wasn't noticed prior (it was a large leak however). One other server got snippy with a guest when they were waiting for her to move so they could get out. Mostly seemed a miscommunication but she should have kept it professional. The servers also maybe were short staffed because they were rushing table to table and barely spent time to get answers they asked "how's the food" as they zip past. Sat at the bar and ordered to-go. Bar tender was a true professional and the food was up quickly. My strip steak was 100% perfect as were the small amount of fries. The chicken tenders were tasty but a might on the small side, just a reminder that this is not Tennessee. Again the amount of fries was pitiful. The included bread and butter was great. The only downside is that we did not get our salads. This is a popular spot. I ended up parking is possibly the last parking space as vehicles circled the building looking for a space. My first time at Longhorns. It was early evening about 4:15. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. This was understandable. We got seated and got our drink and appetizer ordered. This was done in a timely manner. We received our drinks and placed our food order. Our food did not arrive for 30 plus minutes. I really didn't think this was an appropriate time frame. We were passing through Bowling Green and this place had pretty good reviews for a chain restaurant. That was our impression, they do a good job for a chain. The place was clean and busy. Our server did not have a happy attitude but she got the job done. My wife and I split a ribeye. The steak was done perfectly and pretty good quality. Plenty for two of us but it was over seasoned for our taste. Next time I would ask for the same the but hood the salty seasoning. We have a location in Plano, Texas and we may give it a try. read more

This was a very disappointing experience. It was not very crowded as it was still early before 6 pm. I feel that everything that could go wrong, went wrong from the moment we walked in. There was no hostess when we got there. After a couple of minutes, the hostess came out and was not friendly. She looked like she did not want to be there and was simply unhappy. She sat us and gave us our menus; and walked away. I was looking forward to have a martini. There was no martini on the menu so I asked the waiter and he asked me which one but since there's none on the menu and he could not tell me what they have; I gave up and told him I would just have a glass a wine. We then ordered their wings but they ran out already; we were surprised since it was still early in the evening, unless 6pm is late for dinner in Kentucky. I ordered filet, medium rare, my husband ordered prime rib, rare and our son ordered chicken. After 10 minutes, the manager came to inform us that they could not cook the prime rib rare. The only way they could do it is medium or well. We were quite perplexed so we asked what he meant. After a few exchanges, then he said they ran out and the only prime ribs left were medium. So, we ordered a filet. The only problem is that shortly after that, my steak and our son's chicken came out. We sat there for another few minutes for my husband's steak to come out. By then our food were cold. Then the waiter came out and tried to apologize that the restaurant was not allow to cook prime rib rare but someone how he was able to put In his order rare as the button for that was available even though it should not have been. I then told him that was not what his manager had explained. I wished they would just have been honest. To end the night, as I was getting to the bottom of my glass of wine, I saw a bug floating in my wine glass... This is such a terrible run restaurant, to have run out of food so early in the night, to be unable to serve prime rib rare or medium rare, to have a bug in my wine. Even though the manager gave us 15 percent off, it ruined our evening. We definitely will not return. read more

For a longhorn I was impressed with this location in bowling green. Coming here I was not expecting much. Maybe just a good meat and potatoes meal. I have to say from the food to the service. My expectations were 100% meet is not passed! Being from NY I always call ahead for reservations. This long horn does not take reservations. I asked the girl on the phone if she would be working in 20 mins. She said yes. I headed to the store. Had a 5 min convo with her and the manager! Wouldn't you know. I got reservations! When we arrived at 6pm there was a line out the door. Once we were inside they took us to our reserved table. I felt bad passing through all of the people when the hostess told us there is over a 45 min wait. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very knowledgable about the drinks and the menu. I got a double shot of grey goose straight. One of the girls got a margarita. The drinks were good no complaints. The food. I dident know what to order. I wasn't in the mood for anything inperticular. I asked the waiter what he recommends. He gave me a choice fliet mignon or steak sandwich or a burger. I ended up trying the steak sandwich. I was really impressed with the steak sandwich. I couldent be leave it was under $10. The fries were good as well. Overall the longhorn in bowling green is a solid choice for food. Another steak joint that is the same boat as outback, Long Star, Roadhouse, etc... granted, I think they are trying to be more upscale then others... Had lunch here before dropping off the nephews at the summer camp. Ordered the wild west shrimp and firecracker chicken wrap, I got the 16oz prime rib with baked yam and salad. The wild west shrimp was small salad shrimp deep fried with hot peppers with dipping sauce.. it was good... the chicken wrap was good as well. The prime rib was okay... the taste was little blend... but with the sauce, it was good. I'll go here then to Outback any time :) read more

So, there's a reason LongHorn typically ranks high on any list ranking the chain steakhouses. The steaks and other dishes at LongHorn are totally comparable to a good to great standalone independent steakhouse. My recent ribeye and sides was delicious: cooked perfect, well seasoned, and that Mac and Cheese on the side was way above average. However, this location was disappointing in terms of service. While my food was cooked as requested my wife's was not--her steak (while ordered medium rare) was served almost blue rare in a pool of blood which coated her fries. It happens--once requested they hit it with some more heat and brought it back the way she wanted. But that was after we were seated at a dirty table by a host who made a snide comment. Our appetizer (shrimp) was good but the veins were left in some of the shrimp. Our server was friendly but not very helpful. So, $60 worth of food more than half of which was excellent and most of the other half was "fixed" to get it where it needed to be w/o too much problem. But mediocre service and other issues kept this from being a 4 star review (and my own delicious steak boosted it above 2). read more

It's a great place to enjoy a meal with your family. The restaurant seemed clean and I loved the Texas style decor. I got the lunch soup and salad and was very impressed at the flavors. The seafood soup was delicious! I liked my salad but it barely had any chicken on it. The only thing I would have changed about our lunch was the temperature. It was an overcast day but the temperature in the restaurant was so cold people were going to their cars to get jackets or were huddled in a ball in their seats.
