I have been in several Drake's locations in KY and the service in this one was by far the worst. I was in there tonight, a Thursday, it is not crowded and I sat at the bar. I ordered a beer (Drake's Lager) as I planned on what I was going to eat. Neither the bartender that waited on me initially, nor the bartender that was helping her ever approached me to ask if I needed food or another drink. The $8ish that I spent for the service was probably too much. Very disappointing knowing what their restaurants usually offer as far as customer service. read more

Drakes was walking distance from my hotel and I have always heard good things so I had to give it a shot. Upon entering I was impressed with the ambiance of the place. It not only had 1 bar, but 2. The bar I sat at had about 15 beers on draft...impressive. Bartender lady was nice and hard working, helped me with all my questions and needs. I played it safe with a burger, and it did not disappoint. Fries were seasoned well and crispy. A fine establishment. Would give it 4.4 stars, just shy of a 4.5 which would round up to 5 stars on the yelp scale. read more

We had the opportunity to visit Drake's in BG yesterday. We had great expectations since we have been big fans of the Lexington locations for years. We arrived shortly after opening, so we were seated quickly. Our waitress soon took our drink and appetizer order. There were a couple games on the TVs (there are lots of TVs), and since our favorite team was playing we were well entertained while we waited for the rest of our party. When they arrived we ordered our food. There was a longer wait than I would have expected for the food to arrive, but we enjoyed visiting and watching the game, so we weren't really too bothered by it. When the food did arrive, everything was delicious. How I have missed those delicious juicy Lucies! I'm so excited that BG can now enjoy this new Drake's location, and I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

It's decent food and something you should try yourself at least once if you live local. They have a cool ambiance with the signs and the two bars. They have a lot of options so everyone should be able to find something! In my opinion, the food is overpriced for what it is. It's not a bad restaurant at all, there's just lots of other places I'd prefer to eat at in BG. If you are staying at hotel close by, it'd be an easy place to get a bite. We had a great Date Night at Drake's! All of the employees were nice and very helpful. Our waitress keep our drinks full and brought us napkins and to go container and even tea for the road! The food was amazing. The Sweet Potato Waffle Fries was the perfect mixture of sweet and savory and crunchy on the outside but creamy on the inside! The egg on my hubby's Morning Glory Burger was cooked perfectly and the yoke ran down his fingers so he got to lick them off which we both enjoyed ! We were so full with just the Drake's Tots that we only had room for half our entrees! The Cocktails were both great I recommend you try them! read more

The food was mediocre at best. Drinks overpriced especially draft beer at 8 bucks for typical domestic. Service was not good as other locations such as Huntsville, Brentwood or Lexington. Better choices in BG. read more

Atmosphere was but the service was really bad. Our server was slow, forgetful and on their phone at the bar when we were waiting on items. Food was subpar. Burger lacked flavor, lots of sushi dishes on the menu but sushi is better a from Kroger. The salsa, guacamole, and cheese dip were good. Probably will not be back. read more

Unless you love sushi, I would pick another place. The smell permeates the air, and the service is okay. The burger is OK, and the fries are cold. The pickle spears were great. It's not on my list to make a return trip. Floors need a good sweeping. A couple of ozone machines to clear the fishy smell. read more

My wife and I have been looking forward to trying out Drakes. Tonight, we went there with four of our friends. We found the atmosphere fun and pleasing. The staff was friendly. However, I asked for a table for six and we were seated at a very cramped, small table with six bar stools (which were very small). We were packed like sardines (pardon the pun). My wife and I ordered two different burgers. We asked the waitress to put "everything" on them except onions. We were told they come with lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard... What we got were burgers with NOTHING on them. By the time our waitress returned to our table the meal was over, and we were ready to leave. BTW, I believe a $15 Swiss mushroom burger could stand a few fresh mushrooms instead of canned. The burger patties were way over cooked and had deep char on them. My iced tea was tasty. read more

Service: We got a spot at the bar and our drink order was taken in a reasonable amount of time. I measured 34 minutes, about when we finished our drinks for the manager, not the bartender to ask if we want our drinks and I asked if we could put our food order in, and we ordered another round of drinks. Right after, the other bartender starts gossiping with her friends that are sitting next to us about how she couldn't believe her coworker didn't take our food order for so long (rather than just take our order). I'm surprised she would think we wouldn't hear her say this with us sitting right there. Food: When the food arrived, my burger didn't quite match the menu, and my wife ordered no blue cheese on the salad, but they gave her blue cheese(she does not like blue cheese). I have never had a BBQ burger with no BBQ sauce, and then they added some stuff they didn't even say would be on it. Wasn't a fan. Conclusion: They have only been open a couple of weeks, and the staff clearly needs more training. You can't charge premium prices on everything and get literally everything wrong. We might try again in 6 months or so... maybe. If someone reads this, try on a slow night. The bar staff didn't seem overworked, but they did not have any urgency with the fact that it's Friday night. read more

Excellent food and service, a bit noisy but it was pretty crowded to be fair. Prices were reasonable and you can choose to eat outside in a screened area or inside. The portions were hearty and the food was delicious. Our server was quick, made sure we were OK without being intrusive and checked back with us several times. A great place! It's a sports bar that has sushi. We sat at the bar while waiting for a table and ordered Drake's Lager. Once at the table, we ordered miso soup along with a Dynamite Roll and Fantasy Roll. Overall, it's a great place to eat and hang out with friends while watching the game. Sports bars are not my usual choice for dinner, but I had a great time here. All of the staff were wonderful and quick to take our orders. read more

I'll start by saying... This restaurant just opened several days ago and is apparently still working out some kinks. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 12:30 and waited approximately 30 minutes to be seated. The atmosphere is quintessential sports bar with an abundance of high top tables and TV screens. There is an open air deck which was closed when we were there. It was very crowded, cramped and loud. Our table was tiny and much closer to neighboring tables than most restaurants. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. It took about 30 minutes to get our food once we ordered. But, they were insanely busy! I got the fried fish and would give it a solid B. The flavor was good... But it was not even the tiniest bit crunchy. I assume it sat under the lights too long as it was soggy. The fries were crinkle cut, crispy and seasoned well. My husband got the blue cheese burger and gave it a 9 out of 10, saying it was the best blue cheese burger he'd ever had. He also got the BLT side salad and didn't much care for it. But, I tasted it and loved it. He's not a ranch dressing fan. We will go again... But not during peak hours. read more

I love Drakes! My only issue is it's inconsistent. Most days we have great food! Everything is in our to go order and taste great. Other times, when they miss the mark, they truly miss it by forgetting key parts of our orders. Dining in is usually better. It's a fun atmosphere with great drinks! read more

Drinks weak, steak dry, bbq sauce disgusting, waiters was polite, atmosphere nothing impressive. GM runs a tight shift for no particular reason. For a place that has food that's nothing impressive, the drinks being the take, I wouldn't waste my time here. From prior reviews a testimonials and personal experience. I can confirm this place is one that can be passed on. Better places to eat in bowling green and better managed places in the city. I reported into corporate to retrain general management as apparently he lacks clear understanding of company policy. This is my first time visiting the newly-opened Drakes in Bowling Green, KY. The atmosphere is relaxing with plenty of TVs in the bar area for watching football. The hostess sat my husband and I at a small, round high top table. Those tables may be ok if you are just having a drink, but there's no way to enjoy a meal at one. We asked to be moved to a larger table. The hostess seemed to have an attitude about that. It wasn't like the place was full. There were plenty of other tables open. For our appetizer, we got the Sriracha wings. Those were really good. For entrées, my husband got a blue cheeseburger and I got a teriyaki chicken bowl. My husband liked his meal just fine. My teriyaki chicken bowl was horrible. It looked very unappealing when it was served. The rice was clumped together, the avocado was brown and the chicken was partially cold. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, but I did not. Will I be back to Drakes? That's a good question. read more

We went and had dinner and absolutely loved the place! 45 minute wait which is expected with a new place. The service was awesome we got a sushi roll before we out in our entree order and the sushi was amazing! On Saturday February 1, 2025 we went back to Drakes here in Bowling Green reluctantly. Back in December I left a bad review for this restaurant and the company issued me an $50 VIP card. Well needless to say it wasn't any better!!!!! We arrived at approx. 3:45 and being a Saturday it was very busy!! When the hostess seated us we requested a lower table because the high tops are impossible for my husband to sit at following his recent knee surgery. You would have thought we asked her for a KIDNEY they way she complained about having to rotate customers and we were not complying!! Once seated the waitress EMMA was very prompt. We noticed that Drakes is still filling the water and soda glasses with ice ice and more ice. We requested no ice and that's what she brought. We then ordered the tater tot app. We waited about 20 minutes and she came back to tell us she forgot and would put it in now!!! Then we ordered the cheddar burgers. Mine was to be plain. It was loaded!! The app. came at the same time as the meal. The frozen tots with cheese and sauce were very pricey. The fries were cold and the burgers were a DISGRACE that they would even serve them. They were very thin and burned to a crisp!!!!!!!(see photos). The manager came over and agreed that that was a mess and should not have been served. My husbands burger was just burnt crumbs that just fell apart. Never ever saw anything like this before!! I cannot be the only one complaining about this horrible food. I guess they just don't take the time to read or review. Fool me once shame on you but, fool me twice shame on me. Done done and done with this place!!!!!!!! They couldn't give us a million VIP cards to go back here!!!!! read more
